Chapter 245: Clair and Dratini

After saying goodbye to Miss Miku and Mr. White, Ash’s group passed through the forest, and after walking for another three days, they finally arrived at the outskirts of Blackthorn City.

While passing by a Lake, the group discovered a Dratini lying by the water.

Misty exclaimed, ”Wow, it’s a Dratini! So cute!”

”Isn’t Dratini a very rare Pokemon? Why would it appear here?” Brock asked in confusion.

”Because it has a Trainer! There is also a Gyarados in the Lake looking after it,” Ash said.

Hearing this, Misty said with some regret, ”It has a Trainer? That’s really a pity!”

”But... even with a Gyarados watching nearby, the Dratini might not be safe!”

”Who said only the Gyarados is watching?”

As soon as Brock finished speaking, a female voice came from nearby.

The next second, a blue-haired girl with a ponytail appeared.

”Hello, Miss. My name is Brock...”

”Go aside, you flirt, don’t disturb others from talking!”

As soon as Brock started acting up, Misty accurately reached out and dragged him to the side.

The girl glanced at Ash and asked, ”You have the aura of a Dragon-type Pokemon on you; you must also be a Trainer who specializes in Dragon-types, right?”

”Dragon-type Pokemon? I do have some,” Ash replied.

”Hello, my name is Clair,” the girl introduced herself.

”Hello, I’m Ash (Misty),” Ash and the others introduced themselves.

After getting to know each other, Clair picked up the Dratini and placed it into the Lake.

However, as if attracted by something, the Dratini swam towards the upper reaches of the Lake.

”Gyarados, the Dratini has started moving, follow it quickly!”

As Clair’s voice rang out, a well-developed Gyarados broke through the water and chased after the Dratini.

”Miss... Miss, hurry back! Today is the important... the important... hmm!”

Just as Ash and the others wanted to catch up to see what was happening, they heard someone shouting behind them.

The group turned their heads and saw an old man carrying a bundle fall to the ground.

”Grandpa, are you okay?” Misty hurriedly walked over and asked.

”I’m fine, I’m fine, cool right? Hahaha.”

The old man struck a cool pose; if it weren’t for the slight scrape on his face, Ash would have suspected this old man was forcing a scene.

The old man’s antics also left Misty and Brock feeling speechless.

”Huh? Where is the treasure?”

The old man seemed to remember something and hurriedly searched his body.

”Old man, is this what you are looking for?” Ash pointed to the bundle in front of him and reminded him.

”Ah! Young man, thank you!”

The old man opened the bundle to check the contents, and saw that there was only one box inside, and inside the box was the tooth of some kind of Pokemon.

”Excuse me, what is this?” Misty asked in confusion.

”This is the Dragon Fang! It is an heirloom passed down from generation to generation in our Blackthorn City Gym. My name is Kaburagi, the steward of the Blackthorn City Gym.”

”Blackthorn City Gym, so that means Miss Clair is the Gym Leader?”

”Yes, Miss Clair is the current Gym Leader of the Blackthorn City Gym. By the way, where did Miss Clair go?” Kaburagi asked in confusion.

Ash pointed to the upper reaches of the river and said, ”Miss Clair went upstream. The Dratini must have sensed that it was about to evolve, so it wanted to find a good place.”

Meanwhile.

Clair had already confronted the Team Rocket Trio.

”You guys, I won’t allow you to lay a hand on my cute Dratini!” Clair said coldly.

”What did you say?”

”And who are you?”

Jessie and James questioned.

”I am the Gym Leader of the Blackthorn City Gym, Clair,” Clair said.

”Gym Leader?”

”I don’t care! I’ve taken a liking to this Dratini, it’s mine now. Go, Arbok! Use Poison Sting!” Jessie didn’t hesitate and prepared to attack.

Clearly, she underestimated Clair’s strength.

”Gyarados, use Hydro Pump.”

Gyarados opened its mouth and sprayed a thick stream of water, blasting the Team Rocket Trio away like a shooting star.

”Miss... Miss, hurry back! Today is the day of the Purification Ceremony to clean the Dragon Fang and pray for the health and prosperity of all Dragon Pokemon! This is an important day that happens once every three years, Miss!” Kaburagi came to Clair’s back and knelt down to plead.

”Alright, I know, but the Dratini is more important right now! To prepare for the upcoming molting, the Dratini is storing up energy. If we don’t let it be quiet, watching it from the side of the tribe won’t do!”

Clair also had her own persistence.

”This...” For a moment, Kaburagi was also in a difficult position.

”Actually, this matter is easy to solve! Mr. Kaburagi, the Purification Ceremony doesn’t necessarily have to be held at the Gym. The Dratini went to the upper reaches of the river, so there must be a suitable place there,” Ash suggested.

Hearing this, Kaburagi’s eyes lit up, ”That’s right!”

Clair also tacitly agreed to this.

The group followed the river upstream and soon arrived at a small Lake.

At this time, the sky was gradually darkening.

”Dratini, did you intentionally guide us here to hold the ceremony?” Clair looked at the Lake in front of her and asked.

”Dra~” The Dratini nodded, and then a light of evolution burst forth from its body.

”It’s evolving?”
