Pokemon: Reborn As Ash, I'll Conquer Every League

Chapter 219: Chapter 219: Capturing Rayquaza

Chapter 219: Capturing Rayquaza

Seeing Mewtwo and the others becoming more energetic the more they fought, Rayquaza realized there was something strange about Ash.

Having many Pokémon was one thing, but it had never seen a being marked by several special deities.

”Roar!” (Human, what exactly are you? Why does your body carry the Aura of so many deities?)

It used telepathy to question Ash.

”My name is Ash, and you can also call me the Aura Guardian or the Rainbow Hero,” Ash replied.

When it came to background, he had never really backed down. After all, he was someone favored by many Pokémon. He hadn’t even mentioned Arceus; just the names of these two Level 1 deities alone were enough to startle many Pokémon.

”...”

Rayquaza did not refute this. It did indeed sense the Aura of those two on Ash, but there was another one of an even higher rank, which made it hesitant to act rashly.

It wanted to unleash its ultimate attack, but it was afraid of accidentally harming Ash, only to have those deities scatter its ashes.

With two Level 1 deities, plus another even higher-ranking one, even if the leader of its own kind came, they wouldn’t acknowledge it as one of their own.

”Rayquaza, let’s decide this with one strike! Use your strongest move—Dragon Ascent. If we take it, you join me; if we don’t, you leave!” Ash shouted.

”???”

Hearing Ash’s words, Rayquaza’s mind instantly went blank.

If it hadn’t noticed the Aura on Ash, it might have agreed to this bizarre request, but now...

Mewtwo looked on coldly and said, ”Fight. You have no way out!”

Dragonite and Gengar also revealed strange smiles.

They had enjoyed this battle and were also very satisfied with Rayquaza, the newcomer who was about to join the team.

After all, the more powerful members in Ash’s team, the more they could continue to slack off and sleep in their Poké Balls.

Seeing Ash so persistent, Rayquaza had no choice but to stack another Dragon Dance, then shot into the sky and reached beyond the atmosphere, charging towards Mewtwo and the others at high speed.

Powerful Flying-type energy swirled around Rayquaza, forming a green energy shield. Suddenly, Rayquaza looked like an arrow shooting towards Mewtwo.

”Dragonite, maximum power Hyper Beam; Gengar, maximum power Dark Pulse; Mewtwo, let’s use Aura Sphere together!”

The four attacks met Rayquaza’s Dragon Ascent, forcing Rayquaza out of its Mega Evolution form.

After exiting Mega Evolution, Rayquaza’s spirit was visibly wilted, and it had clearly sustained quite a few injuries.

In contrast, Ash and his team only had high stamina consumption; their superficial injuries had long been healed by Ash’s Natural Power, and as for internal or hidden injuries, they would recover with time.

Seeing this result, Rayquaza no longer had any thoughts of running away.

It flew in front of Ash and lowered its head. ”Ash, you win.”

Ash casually applied a Natural Power buff to Rayquaza and smiled, ”Then we’re partners from now on!”

”This power...”

Feeling the injuries on its body recovering, Rayquaza looked at Ash in astonishment.

”This is Natural Power, an advanced version of Viridian Power. It can heal Pokémon’s injuries and also allow me to communicate with you heart-to-heart,” Ash explained simply.

”An advanced version of Viridian Power? Does this power have any usage restrictions?”

Rayquaza had an idea.

They survived by devouring meteorites. However, some meteorites containing a lot of energy were in high-speed motion, so they would shatter the meteorites before swallowing them. Doing so inevitably caused injuries, so they often went from a feast to a famine because they had to recover from their wounds.

If it could have a long-term self-healing buff, wouldn’t that mean it could accelerate its growth?

”It works as long as you are on Earth. As for whether it’s effective above the ozone layer, I’m not sure. You can try it out.”

Was Ash afraid that Rayquaza would take the opportunity to run away? No.

It could run for a while, but not forever. At worst, when he met Hoopa in the future, he would just have Hoopa use its rings to catch it and give it a good beating.

Ash believed that if that day really came, Rayquaza would definitely regret running away today.

Rayquaza was also very honest; it shot into the sky and flew straight out of the ozone layer.

However, as soon as it went out, its expression instantly collapsed; its buff was gone.

But as soon as it stepped back into the ozone layer, the buff automatically resumed.

Although it couldn’t bring the buff outside, it automatically resumed upon returning. Even though it didn’t meet Rayquaza’s expectations, it was close enough.

So, it happily flew back to find Ash.

Seeing Rayquaza fly back, Ash knew it was settled, so he took out a Master Ball.

”Ash, I can stay by your side, but I need to periodically feed on meteorites in space to replenish my energy, so...”

Clearly, Rayquaza did not intend to stay inside a Poké Ball for long periods.

Rayquaza fed on meteorites, and Ash was aware of this, so he nodded and said, ”No problem. Just let me know when you want to feed, and I’ll let you out.”

”Good!”

Rayquaza reached out and touched the button on the Master Ball. With almost no shaking, the Poké Ball issued a prompt indicating a successful capture.

Then, Ash applied a layer of Aura seal on the Poké Ball. This was both to block the Pokémon’s Aura inside from leaking out and a measure to prevent the Poké Ball from being damaged.

Of course, if the Pokémon inside wanted to come out on its own, there would be no hindrance.

The purpose of doing this was, firstly, that Ash didn’t want to be scanned by certain organizations using instruments to detect the legendary Pokémon fluctuations on him, and secondly, he didn’t want to frequently replace Master Balls.

After all, the scientists in some villainous organizations had strong creative capabilities, and most importantly, a Master Ball was too expensive; he would be heartbroken if he broke one.

”Ash!!”

As Ash returned to Pidgey Island, Misty could not suppress the worry and excitement in her heart and ran with all her might towards Ash, who was not far away.

She reached out and hugged Ash, tears of joy and excitement overflowing from her eyes. She sobbed, rubbing against Ash, her voice trembling slightly: ”It’s so good that you could come back safely, Ash!”

”It’s fine, I told you I was just taking care of a small matter...”

Ash didn’t know how to comfort her. His fishing plan was originally a backup plan, and Rayquaza had arrived too quickly, so he hadn’t had time to explain.

”Alright, Misty, we can talk about other things later. I need to take Mewtwo and the others to restore the surrounding environment. I’ll be back soon.”

Ash called for Deoxys and flew towards the place where they had just fought.

The destruction caused by the full-power battle between the legendary Pokémon was indeed significant; Ash couldn’t even sense the existence of any living creatures in this area below.

Ash recalled Ancient Dragonite and Gengar, and used Aura to address the Lugia in the depths of the ocean: ”Lugia, please bring your kin to help. The environment here has been damaged quite severely, so I might need you and her to help together.”

The next second, two Lugia, one large and one small, burst out of the sea. The large one was naturally Ash’s, and the other one was the local one from the Whirl Islands.

He then released Ancient Alakazam and said to the few Pokémon: ”In a moment, I will go all out to mobilize the power of nature to restore this, please gather your Psychic-type power and channel it into me.”
