Chapter 206: Gary Chasing Articuno

”KimiKim...”

”It says it knows some good news; there are many apple trees in the forest over there!” Meowth continued to translate.

”Wow! Let’s go sell apples next!” Jessie suggested.

James cheered, ”We can make a big profit again!”

The Team Rocket Trio completely failed to notice the flash of disdain in Teddiursa’s eyes.

After leading the Team Rocket Trio into the forest, it ditched them in a bush, doubled back, and started munching on the corn Meowth had brought back.

It hadn’t been eating for long when the Ash’s group discovered it.

Misty angrily rushed to the cart and stared at the Teddiursa on it, ”You detestable Teddiursa, I’ve caught you now!”

Teddiursa also recognized Misty, and it once again unleashed its Charm technique: ”Kimikimi~”

”So cute! It’s impossible to be angry at it like this!” Misty surrendered immediately.

But Xiaogang, who was only charmed by mature older sisters, was different, ”Geodude, go! Use Rock Smash!”

Geodude swung both fists, landing a few heavy blows on Teddiursa.

Teddiursa was furious at being beaten, so it immediately used Feint Attack to launch Geodude into the air, followed by a jump and a Slash. Geodude was finished!

”I didn’t expect I’d have to step in after all!”

Ash didn’t know if Xiaogang was acting, so he immediately brought out Gallade.

”Gallade, use Aura Sphere.”

Gallade channeled its Aura to form a sphere and slammed it directly into Teddiursa.

Teddiursa was stunned after being hit. It had only eaten a little food, right?

It had almost been sent to meet its ancestors by that single sphere.

Seeing Ash and the others still glaring at it, Teddiursa, accustomed to trickery and deceit, panicked.

Instinctively, it scrambled up, looked at Ash, and put on a show of kowtowing.

A world-class surrender posture of kowtowing for mercy.

This sight left Ash feeling both amused and exasperated.

So this guy was just a bully who picked on the weak and feared the strong. If you didn’t teach it a lesson, it wouldn’t know its place.

”Hey, hey, hey, Ash, what are you doing to our Teddiursa?”

At this moment, the Team Rocket Trio, having failed to find the apple trees, crept back.

”Your Teddiursa? You three weren’t just tricked by it, were you?”

Ash really didn’t know what to say about the intelligence of the Team Rocket Trio; they were too naive and too easily deceived.

”Tricked? I guess that’s true. In that forest, let alone apple trees, we didn’t even see a single berry.” James muttered.

”James, whose side are you on? Meowth.”

Meowth was speechless. Didn’t saying that just prove they had actually been scammed? Was that something to be proud of?

”Stop nagging. This Teddiursa said it wanted to join Team Rockets. Ash, as a good guy, you wouldn’t just snatch it away, would you?” Jessie said.

”Snatch it? I wouldn’t do that, but what you should be doing right now is figuring out how to appease that old man’s anger.”

Ash pointed behind the Team Rocket Trio, where an old man was rushing toward them, wielding a shovel.

The old man had a sharp eye for people and chased the Team Rocket Trio, yelling, ”You stinking thieves, give me back my corn!”

After the Team Rocket Trio was chased away, Ash threw a Poké Ball to capture Teddiursa and transferred it back to Professor Oaks Laboratory. After sending a message to Professor Oak informing him that Teddiursa had behavioral issues, the group set off on their journey again.

A few days later, after walking out of the forest, the group entered an area covered in snow.

”The weather in the Johto region is so strange! It was sunny just a moment ago, so why is it snowing here?” Misty asked in confusion.

”Perhaps it’s because the elevation is higher here. I think there’s a snowy mountain nearby called Bai Xue Mountain, and there’s a Pokémon Center at the highest altitude there.” Xiaogang said, looking at the map.

Hearing this, Ash immediately called him out, ”Xiaogang, your real intention is Nurse Joy, isn’t it?”

”Ahahaha, you caught me. But we really do need to pass through there.” Xiaogang didn’t bother hiding it anymore.

Ash shook his head helplessly, ”I knew it.”

”Speaking of snowy mountains, we should be able to go skiing there, right?” Misty asked.

”I suppose so.” Xiaogang wasn’t entirely sure.

It wasn’t in the travel guide, and if he promised too much and it didn’t happen, he would be finished if Misty got angry.

Misty assumed it was possible and looked at Ash, ”Then Ash, let’s go skiing!”

”Yeah.”

And so, the group headed toward Bai Xue Mountain.

Before they even reached Bai Xue Mountain, Ash sensed two familiar Auras. One was Gary’s, and the other he couldn’t recall for the moment, but the two Auras were very close, clearly traveling together.

”Misty, Xiaogang, let’s head in that direction. Gary is also nearby.” Ash said, looking at the two.

”Gary?” Misty and Xiaogang were a bit surprised.

Soon, Ash and his friends found Gary, and that familiar Aura belonged to Todd, the photographer who had traveled with them for a while at the Kanto Pokémon Certification Exam Center.

”Gary, Todd, long time no see!” Ash greeted them.

Upon hearing this, Gary and Todd both turned their heads.

Seeing Ash, both of them immediately looked surprised: ”Ash?”

Gary quickly reacted, looking at Ash with a complicated expression, ”Ash, are you also here to catch Articuno?”

”Articuno?” Ash looked at Gary in confusion, asking, ”What Articuno?”

Seeing that Ash didn’t seem to be acting, Gary felt so awkward he could have dug a three-bedroom apartment with his toes, ”Uh... didn’t my grandfather tell you?”

”What?” Ash was becoming more and more confused.

”Let me explain. There are sightings of Articuno near Bai Xue Mountain. Ash, you aren’t here for it, are you?” Todd said.

”Articuno? So, the abnormal weather around here is caused by Articuno?” Misty said.

Xiaogang cupped his chin, deep in thought, ”Legendary Pokémon have the ability to change the weather.”

”Bai Xue Mountain itself has legends about Articuno, and there are even sculptures of Articuno on the mountain. I hear that Articuno rescues humans trapped on the mountain.” Gary explained.

”So it seems, Gary, you intend to capture it, right?”

Ash finally understood; no wonder he ran into Gary in this place.

”Yeah, but since you’re here, Ash, I think I’ll forget about it.”

Gary still remembered that he owed Ash two pieces of information; he was better off without this Articuno!

Besides, even if he tried to compete for it, he couldn’t beat Ash. He already knew from Professor Oak that Ash could freely command Mewtwo, so...

”Gary, I’ve actually already captured Articuno. If you have the ability, then go ahead and capture the one on the mountain.”
