Pokemon: Reborn As Ash, I'll Conquer Every League

Chapter 47: Chapter 47 Water Splash

Chapter 47 Water Splash

After boarding the ship, Misty immediately started taking photos, while James used the excuse of tidying the room to go see mature women. As for Ash, he went to the St. Anne’s battle area.

His current Pokémon’s combat power still had a relatively large gap. Putting Ancient Dragonite aside, the first tier included Gardevoir, Pikachu, and Giant Onix. The second tier included Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, and Pidgeotto. Then there was the recently evolved shiny Beedrill, and finally the Feebas, which had been tricked into overflowing confidence and was about to evolve.

Hmm, the unhatched shiny Riolu was not included.

So Ash planned to practice with the Trainers on this ship to gain experience for his lower-level Pokémon.

”Beedrill, use Focus Energy!”

Beedrill took a deep breath, concentrating on analyzing Pidgeotto’s weaknesses.

”Pidgeotto, Quick Attack, interrupt it!”

”Beedrill, dodge and then use X-Scissor!”

Beedrill flapped its wings, easily dodging Pidgeotto’s attack with a sidestep, and seized the opportunity to unleash X-Scissor, hitting Pidgeotto’s left wing.

With its wing struck, Pidgeotto instantly lost balance and crashed heavily onto the steel plate, losing its ability to battle.

The referee raised the flag representing Ash’s victory. ”Pidgeotto is unable to battle, Beedrill wins, so the winner is Ash from Pallet Town.”

”Oh, our contestant Ash has already achieved twelve consecutive victories! Are there any more challengers who want to challenge our contestant Ash?” The Host excitedly shouted to the Trainers. ”Today’s winner’s prize is a Mystic Water that can boost the power of Water-type moves...”

Silence!

It was very quiet!

Ash waited for a full three minutes without a new challenger, then he spoke to the Host: ”Host, I’m personally adding 50,000 League Coins. Today, if anyone can defeat me in a 1-on-1 battle, they can take 50,000 League Coins. Even if they lose, they’ll get 3,000 League Coins as encouragement.”

As the saying goes, under heavy rewards, there will be brave warriors. Being a Trainer is very expensive. Ash didn’t believe that with his added stakes, those Trainers would be able to sit still.

”I’m coming!”

Sure enough, as soon as Ash finished speaking, someone eagerly stepped forward.

”Go, Golbat!”

”You’re up, Pidgeotto!”

Just like that, Ash gained a lot of experience, but at the cost of nearly 500,000 League Coins in three hours. He wasn’t pursuing a winning streak; rather, having both wins and losses would stimulate more challengers.

A satisfied Ash first treated his Pokémon’s injuries, then fed them energy cubes, before planning to find Misty and Brock.

Not long after leaving the battle area, he saw James being tricked by Goldfish King Uncle. James was completely bewildered by Goldfish King Uncle’s wealth-building theories. Ash unconsciously moved closer to the neighboring stall to watch the drama unfold.

He had no intention of stopping it. For someone as naive as James, you can help once, but not for a lifetime. Besides, if the Team Rocket Trio didn’t experience some setbacks, how would they ever lower themselves to take on other jobs?

After watching the show, Ash found Misty and Brock.

Hmm, when he saw them, he saw fighting...Pooh (Bah), wrong scene, it was Misty dragging Brock by his ear.

After the three of them had a hearty meal in the dining area, the St. Anne’s closing performance began.

The waiters, in a sudden transformation, all donned Team Rockets uniforms and each carried a flying device. This device also had a vacuum cleaner-like function. The Team Rockets members activated their machines, intending to suck up the Poké Balls of the Trainers present.

”Ash, you were absolutely right, this really is a Team Rockets trap.” Misty murmured with emotion.

”Team Rockets is just a minor problem; the real big trouble is yet to come. The battle will be left to James and me, Misty, the trouble afterward will depend on your Water-type Pokémon.” Ash instructed.

”Ash, let’s go!” Brock took out Geodude’s Poké Ball. ”Go, Geodude!”

”Alright, let’s go together, Pikachu, Gardevoir, it’s up to you!”

Ash and Brock blew the horn of counterattack.

The Team Rockets members who tried to approach Ash and Brock were no match for the two of them, and were severely beaten.

”Forget those two brats, just grab everyone else’s and retreat!” At this moment, the cruise ship’s broadcast sounded.

Upon hearing this, the Team Rockets members gave up on the idea of attacking Ash and his companions.

However, very quickly, as the cruise ship violently shook, everyone inexplicably panicked. Those near the windows looked out and saw the dark sky outside and a water tornado extending to the horizon, exclaiming, ”It’s a storm! If we get caught in it, this ship will sink!”

Hearing that the ship would sink, the hall immediately erupted into chaos. Both Team Rockets members and ordinary people rushed onto the deck.

Ash found a wooden board in the hall large enough to support their weight. ”Gardevoir, Teleport...”

Just as Ash and the others were about to leave the hall, James, who was still lingering in the corner, hastily spoke up: ”Ash, take us with you! We don’t have Water-type Pokémon, and there’s limited space on the lifeboats!”

”That’s right! Please help us, we promise not to target Pikachu and Gardevoir this time!” Jessie pleaded.

”I’m most afraid of water, Meowth!” Meowth said.

”Come on, James, didn’t you just buy a Magikarp? Tie a rope to it, and the ocean current will eventually carry you ashore.” Ash reminded him.

He wanted to witness James’s evolution, but he didn’t want to experience Gyarados’s Dragon Rage, especially not from five Gyarados at once.

”That’s right!” James suddenly realized.

”That’s right, but if we can’t get out onto the deck, we’ll die anyway, Meowth! Ash, please take us out first, Meowth!” Meowth begged on its knees.

”It’s not impossible to take you out. Afterwards, I need you, Meowth, to help me build some things, and I also need you, Meowth, to help me deal with someone.”

The operational capabilities of this Team Rocket Trio were comparable to the bug wolf from Qingqing Grassland. Ash happened to have two blueprints for technological creations from other worlds.

The person he wanted Meowth to deal with was naturally Oak. A talking Meowth also had some research value, although Meowth exchanged its strength and potential for it, it was undeniably a unique existence.

”No problem, Meowth!” Meowth didn’t think much of it.

”Good, Gardevoir, take them and use Teleport, try to get as far from the ship as possible.” Ash instructed.

Whoosh!

The two groups were thus taken away from the St. Anne’s by Gardevoir.

After making a simple raft, Ash and Misty released their Water-type Pokémon, quickly putting distance between themselves and the Team Rocket Trio.

After the three ran far away, the Team Rocket Trio barely managed to tie the rope to Magikarp. James commanded: ”Magikarp, go, take us to land!”

Magikarp used Hydro Pump...

”Magikarp, hurry up and get in the water, pull us along!”

Splash~

Splash~

Magikarp continued to use Hydro Pump...

”James, does your Magikarp not know how to swim, or is it afraid of drowning, or does it just like splashing around?” Jessie looked at James with a questioning gaze.

Meowth was also looking at him the same way.

Questioned by his teammates, James knew he had been tricked. In a fit of anger, he kicked Magikarp: ”I don’t want you anymore!”

After Magikarp flew into the sea, its entire body began to emit white light, and thus a famous scene was born.

After getting the footage, Ash said to Squirtle and Misty’s Pokémon: ”Gyarados is coming, everyone swim fast!”
