Pokemon: Reborn As Ash, I'll Conquer Every League

Chapter 8: Chapter 8 Trading

Chapter 8 Trading

Soon, Ash and Serena found the medical staff.

The medical staff selected for the Summer Camp’s medical support team were highly skilled, and they quickly treated Serena’s sprained ankle.

With Ash spraying a special healing agent on her, Serena was already able to walk, though not as smoothly as usual.

”Ash, thank you so much!” Serena thanked Ash.

Ash waved his hand, ”We’re all friends, no need to be so polite!”

”Ash, where is the evidence you just mentioned about that unfortunate Goh?”

Gary and Koharu rushed in frantically.

”Gary, I can show you the video, but don’t show it to anyone else. This is first-hand information, very valuable.”

Ash took out the recorder. He had already processed the video, locking and hiding all content related to Mew’s appearance. As for Goh’s entire unlucky process, he had also done some simple splicing, making it appear as if it were an unintentionally filmed scene at first glance.

”Tsk, isn’t it just a little money? Any research achievement you casually make will generate more profit than this.”

As a young master, Gary had no concept of money.

”Research achievement?”

Serena asked in confusion, ”Ash, are you already a Pokemon Researcher?”

”It’s all thanks to Professor Oak. I just proposed some research ideas that are quite valuable. My dream is to become a Pokémon Master. Becoming a researcher is to learn more about Pokemon.

Gary, the value of this video is indeed not very high, but if put in the right place, it’s no problem to exchange it for an Elite-qualified Pokemon.”

”Being a researcher at Professor Oak’s laboratory? That’s amazing!”

Serena and Koharu were both shocked.

Gary saw the look of admiration on Koharu’s face and was incredibly jealous. If he had known this would happen, he wouldn’t have said those words. After so many years of rivalry, he actually helped that idiot show off in front of others, and one of them was his newly recognized crush.

However, Gary was indeed surprised by the video’s value. Elite-qualified Pokemon are rare. Pokemon of this caliber, if properly trained, can certainly become a Quasi-Elite, let alone an Elite. A Quasi-Elite is already one of the main combat forces of many Gym Leaders’ main teams.

But what made Gary most uncomfortable was that Ash’s Pokemon training ability was much stronger than his, and he still had five years before he could get his First Generation Starters and travel. Ash had already caught a Pichu with good qualifications. If he got another Elite-qualified Pokemon, Gary could almost foresee that he might never be able to surpass Ash in his entire life.

”Ah, it hurts so much! Anesthetic, why wasn’t there any anesthetic?!”

Suddenly, a scream came from next door.

”Uh... I’m really sorry, I saw you weren’t reacting, so I thought someone had already given you anesthetic.”

”...”

Listening to the commotion next door, Ash and the others fell silent.

Gary asked with some uncertainty, ”Is that unlucky Goh next door?”

”Judging by the situation, it should be.” Ash nodded, ”By the way, are you hungry?”

”No hurry, let us have a look first.”

Gary took the recorder from Ash’s hand, called Koharu, and started watching.

Pichu, who was eating a melon on Ash’s shoulder, also curiously jumped onto Koharu’s shoulder at this moment and stared at the recorder’s screen.

”Koharu, do you know that unlucky Goh?”

”Not very well.”

While they were watching the video, Goh himself was urgently transferred to the nearest Viridian City Pokémon Center by the camp’s medical staff because of excessive accumulation of Beedrill venom in his body, to avoid affecting the subsequent Summer Camp process.

Soon, half an hour passed.

Gary, who had finished watching Goh’s unlucky highlight moments, sighed, ”I didn’t expect this Goh to be so bold, but his luck is truly hard to describe.”

Ash smiled mysteriously, ”Gary, this isn’t a matter of luck. He seems to be disliked by Pokemon. Didn’t you see in the video how Caterpie, Metapod, Magikarp, etc., all Pokemon with weak attack desires, tried to attack him?”

Simply pranking Goh was far from Ash’s expectation. He processed the video, deliberately amplifying the scenes where Goh was disliked by Pokemon, in order to prevent him from normally obtaining the qualification of a Pokemon Trainer.

Having lived in this world for so many years, Ash knew that the Pokemon Trainer qualification was not as easy to obtain as shown in the anime. Any age-appropriate teenager who wants to obtain the Pokemon Trainer qualification needs to go through an audit. People who do not pass the audit cannot even obtain a Pokedex, let alone buy ordinary Poke Balls, nor can they obtain them through gifts from others.

Without the ball, it was equivalent to crippling Goh’s one-ball superman bug ability.

And this qualification audit involves the receive of First Generation Starters and the issuance of the Pokedex, so the most basic requirement is that parents need to pay a certain amount of fees for their children every year. This is equivalent to checking whether the family has the financial support for Pokemon training.

Secondly, it tests the child’s understanding of Pokemon. This is checked by the school through exams, and the difficulty is not high. These schools are not like the ones Ash attended in his previous life; these basic education schools are equivalent to enlightenment schools. Children can enroll at the age of 5 and graduate after passing the exam. Of course, those like Ash, who are recognized by Professor Oak, don’t need to go to such schools.

The final audit is also comprehensive, mainly testing values and personality. It is clear that someone like Goh does not meet the conditions.

”Well, according to the video Ash filmed, this child is indeed disliked by Pokemon.”

At this moment, Professor Oak appeared out of nowhere.

”However, Ash, your progress is quite shocking to me. If I’m not mistaken, that Aura Sphere that blocked Gyarados’s Hyper Beam was yours, right?” Professor Oak asked, stroking his chin.

”Uh, yes, that was indeed mine.”

Ash felt a little flustered inside.

If Professor Oak saw through anything, his plan would be ruined. After all, to deprive Goh of his Trainer qualification, he still needed an academic authority like Professor Oak to make a name for himself.

Hearing Ash’s answer, Serena and the others were stunned. They never expected Ash to be a Psychic.

Especially Gary, he was the most bewildered one.

Listening to his grandfather’s words, it turned out that he was the only one in the dark, and his grandfather already knew that idiot had Psychic abilities.

Professor Oak patted Ash’s shoulder with great satisfaction, ”Well done, you acted decisively.”

”It was just an unintentional display in an emergency. By the way, Professor, why are you here?”

Ash didn’t want to dwell on the Aura Sphere and Goh.

”I came to ask for your opinion on that child who had the accident, but after watching the video you recorded, your opinion is no longer important. I have decided that after the Summer Camp ends, I will apply to the Alliance to temporarily not issue that child a Trainer qualification.

By the way, Ash, the video you recorded doesn’t seem very complete. Did you process the video?”

Professor Oak saw that the video had been processed, but he didn’t suspect Ash of any tricks.

To avoid being seen through, Ash nodded, then mysteriously said, ”I did cut a section, but this hidden video is about a legendary Pokemon.”

Professor Oak’s interest was immediately piqued upon hearing this. ”A legendary Pokemon?”

Over the years, besides Celebi, he had never seen any other legendary Pokemon. Thinking of Celebi, a slight change appeared in Professor Oak’s eyes as he looked at Ash.

”Professor, how much are you willing to pay for the video footage of Mew?”

Ash looked at Professor Oak with a grin.

”80.”

”Professor, this is the only video...”

”Any Elite-qualified First Generation Starters from any region.”

”Professor, that’s a legendary Pokemon~”

”Add 100.”

”...”

The two began a long bargaining process. In the end, Professor Oak obtained the video of Mew from Ash at the cost of one First Generation Starters, 5 million Alliance coins, and one guidance session for any Pokemon in his main team.
