Pokemon: Reborn As Ash, I'll Conquer Every League

Chapter 27: Chapter 27 No, I’m here to learn

Chapter 27 No, I’m here to learn

”Alright, Misty probably has something going on at home. Give her some time to handle it, and she’ll be back. The performance has already started; if we don’t get in now, it will be too late.”

Ash, of course, knew that Misty had secretly snuck back to the Cerulean Gym.

His Aura detection was always on, and Misty’s little movements couldn’t escape his perception at all. He estimated that Misty was already preparing to battle him.

Hearing that it might be too late, Brock dragged Ash and sprinted towards the ticket window. The two were like arrows released from a bow, flying out with a ”whoosh.”

Choosing seats, paying, getting tickets, and rushing in—the series of actions flowed smoothly, without any delay. Brock didn’t even pick up the change from the ticket window.

”Phew, we made it!”

Arriving at the audience seats, Brock looked at the still-closed curtain and finally relaxed, wiping the fine beads of sweat from his forehead.

When it came to watching beautiful women, Brock was serious. He chose a prime spot that offered an unobstructed view of the stage.

This kind of keen eye made Ash feel inferior. Indeed, this guy took less than thirty seconds from choosing a seat to paying and entering, yet he could still pick a good spot at a glance.

As the stage curtain opened, the synchronized swimming performance officially began.

”Pika~chu?” (Ash, are you serious about watching this kind of performance?)

Pikachu stared at Ash with his nimble, big eyes.

Kirlia’s eyes were also full of doubt. They both felt that Ash shouldn’t be watching this kind of performance; Serena was still waiting for him.

”Uh... Pikachu, Kirlia, don’t misunderstand. I’m here to learn. Look, this synchronized swimming performance is completed through the cooperation between the Trainer and the Pokemon, and in the Hoenn and Sinnoh regions, there’s something called the Grand Festival...” Ash tried to fool them with a straight face.

If he didn’t fool these two, if they went and tattled to Serena, he would be done for.

”Ash, hearing you say that, do you plan to participate in the Grand Festival in the future?”

A hint of slyness flashed in Brock’s eyes. He had heard of the Grand Festival and knew that this competition attracted the attention of most female Trainers in both Hoenn and Sinnoh, so...

”I do have that plan. The Grand Festival is different from Gym challenges and Alliance Conferences, but they all have battle segments. I think the battle skills of those Trainers who focus on Grand Festival battles should also be applicable to Gym challenges, just like Champion Wallace from the Hoenn region.”

In the original story, didn’t that idiot develop the special move ”Double-Edge Shield” by helping Dawn prepare for the Grand Festival? Ash also planned to emulate that and see if he could grasp new moves.

Another reason was that he wanted to break the original trajectory. Winning the Alliance Conference wasn’t enough for him; he wanted to win the Grand Festival as well.

Furthermore, he didn’t plan to release the Pokemon he caught. Each Pokemon has its own personality; some like to battle, others like to perform. With many Pokemon caught, he also had to consider their feelings.

On the stage.

The Cerulean Sisters, with their excellent skill, danced gracefully in the huge pool. Their six long legs were incredibly eye-catching, making many perverts’ blood surge.

”Tsk tsk tsk, this is simply art!”

Ash exclaimed as he watched.

”Exactly, this synchronized swimming truly strikes a chord in my heart. This performance is truly unforgettable and captivating.” Brock stared intently at the stage.

However, the actions of these two were seen clearly by someone who had secretly left the group.

”Damn it, Ash, that guy knows the performance isn’t complete, yet he’s still watching so intently!”

Misty clenched her fists, wishing she could jump over immediately and give Ash a couple of ”thumps.”

In the end, she still restrained herself, but as if making a decision, a blue-pink scale appeared in her hand.

....

Wonderful performances often make people forget the passage of time.

In the blink of an eye, an hour passed.

The synchronized swimming performance also drew its curtain, signaling the end of the show.

Putting away his lingering feelings, Ash took Pikachu and Kirlia and headed backstage.

As he passed a telephone booth with a Pokemon transfer function, Ash stopped, took off the Luxury Ball containing Shinny Fearow from his waist, and dialed Professor Oak’s Laboratory.

Fearow’s aptitude was good, but it was still a bit inferior compared to Pidgeotto, and the two Normal/Flying Pokemon had overlapping roles, making tactical arrangements difficult.

So he planned to send Fearow to the laboratory backyard, allowing it to battle with the Pokemon there to improve itself. He had already explained all this to Fearow.

”Hello, this is Professor Oak’s Laboratory in Pallet Town. Who are you looking for?”

As soon as the call connected, Ash heard a familiar voice.

”Professor Oak, it’s me, Ash.”

”Oh, Ash, what’s up?”

”Professor, I just transferred a Shinny Fearow back. Could you check if you’ve received it?

Also, I recently caught a Feebas, so I’d like to trouble you to transfer Milotic number one and number three. I have a great use for them.”

Professor Oak’s Laboratory backyard housed three Milotic, all of which Ash had applied to the League to obtain for ”research” on Feebas’s evolution (in reality, they were just for gathering research data).

Originally there were ten, but for some reason, Ash used them to do favors for others. Anyway, it was like offering borrowed flowers to Buddha; Ash himself didn’t lose anything, and the League’s generosity was impressive.

”I received Fearow. As for Milotic, please wait a moment.”

Professor Oak was quick, and in a short while, he transferred the two Pokemon Ash needed.

”Ash, I’ve transferred them to you. Take a look.”

”Professor Oak, I received them.”

Ash held up the two miniaturized Luxury Balls in his hand.

”Hmm, Ash, the Shinny Fearow you caught is very good, much more excellent than the one Gary caught. I plan to research it, if you don’t mind?” Professor Oak asked with a smile.

”Qilu!!!” (Bad old man, you wish!)

Before Ash could reply, Kirlia reacted first.

Professor Oak wasn’t angry and greeted them with a smile: ”Kirlia, you’re as cute as ever, and Pikachu looks well too! It seems you’ve all gotten used to the joys of traveling.”

”Pika.”

Pikachu responded indifferently.

”Professor, regarding your request, as long as Fearow doesn’t mind, I don’t mind either.”

Fearow is a common Pokemon, not a rare one like Kirlia, which is uncommon in the Kanto region. Professor Oak must have already researched it.

Ash could almost certainly conclude that Professor Oak was interested in the Shinny aspect as a research point, so he wouldn’t use all means like he did when researching Ralts. At most, it would just be a routine physical examination and a test of its overall qualities.

”No problem.”

Upon hearing this, Professor Oak quickly disconnected, as if afraid Ash would change his mind.
