Chapter 39: The Arrival of the Super Ancient Dragonite

While Ash and the others were enjoying a delicious dinner, our true protagonists—the Team Rocket Trio—were on a small hill outside the lighthouse, observing it through a telescope.

”According to the intelligence, a Pokemon researcher named Bill lives in that lighthouse,” James said, holding a small notebook.

”A Pokemon researcher? It looks like our luck is turning!” Jessie’s face showed a smile.

”Jessie, don’t get too happy too soon. That Ash has also entered the lighthouse. If we make a move on Bill, that Ash definitely won’t stand idly by,” Meowth reminded.

”So we need to formulate a plan. Meowth, think about it, can a Pokemon researcher’s residence not have rare Pokemon? As long as we can capture all the Pokemon in the lighthouse and give them to the boss, promotion and a raise will be within reach.”

Jessie’s words seemed to possess a magical power, causing James and Meowth to involuntarily fantasize about the wonderful life after promotion and a raise.

”Alright, then let’s launch the ’Sneak In and Catch All the Pokemon’ operation!”

Just like that, the man and the cat decided on a strategy without Jessie’s consent.

....

Late at night, Ash and the two others, full from food and drink, followed Bill to the top of the lighthouse.

”Oh, is it already foggy? Good, it’s time to work!”

Bill looked at the sea shrouded in thick fog and excitedly ran to the control room connected to several large loudspeakers. He randomly pressed a few buttons on the console full of buttons.

”Woo~ Awoo.....”

A mournful sound emanated from the large loudspeakers on the lighthouse, spreading towards the depths of the sea.

”This sound is something I spent a lot of effort asking someone to simulate based on my observations over the past few years. I hope to use this sound to attract that Pokemon, even if it’s just to see it once,” Bill said proudly to Ash and the others.

Ash and the two others also looked towards the depths of the ocean with anticipation.

Suddenly, Ash thought of something and asked, ”Bill, have you ever considered, what if the sound you made really attracts that Pokemon, but it doesn’t see its kind? How would it feel?”

”That’s right, Dr. Bill, didn’t you say that the Pokemon’s cry was full of loneliness? What if it mistakes the sound you’re emitting for a companion...?”

Brock also thought of an unfavorable plot development.

”Ah? I haven’t thought about that.”

Bill’s expression was bewildered, but he was also someone who had seen many things, and he instantly understood Ash and their concerns. ”Well then, Ash, do you have any powerful Pokemon with you?”

”Uh... Bill, you really haven’t changed.”

Ash covered his face with one hand, speechless at Bill’s move.

”Pidgeotto, come out.”

”Pi!”

”Pikachu, you and Pidgeotto go to the bottom of the cliff and drive away Team Rockets.”

Since the Ancient Dragonite’s combat power was still unclear, Ash, to be safe, decided it was better to send those three unlucky Team Rockets away first. Otherwise, a berserk Dragonite would be too dangerous.

”Pika!”

Pikachu nodded and jumped onto Pidgeotto’s back.

”Team Rockets? Ash, have those three Team Rockets come too?” Misty asked.

”They’re here, right below, and a big fellow is coming from the sea.”

In the distance, a huge figure appeared on the sea surface at some unknown time.

”It’s so big!” Misty exclaimed.

”Oh, that’s the Pokemon I’ve been pursuing for years! Indeed, it’s unique!” Bill showed an excited expression.

Seeing the Ancient Dragonite approaching, Ash commanded Kirlia, ”Kirlia, Teleport us to the bottom of the lighthouse.”

”Qilu” (Okay, Ash.)

The next moment, Ash and the others appeared outside the lighthouse.

At this very moment, a yellow lightning bolt lit up at the bottom of the cliff, and then the Team Rocket Trio, who were still struggling to climb, turned into shooting stars and flew far away.

”What a nasty feeling!”

”Kirlia, you might have to contain the Ancient Dragonite later. Take this with you first.”

Ash took out Gardevoir’s Mega Evolution stone pendant and hung it around Kirlia’s neck. Kirlia’s strength had reached the Elite level not long ago. She was actually on the verge of evolution, but there had been no suitable opportunity. Battling the Ancient Dragonite might provide that opportunity.

With his bond with Kirlia, achieving Mega Evolution would not be difficult.

”Dragonite? Hearing you say that, Ash, the outline of this mysterious Pokemon is indeed similar to Dragonite, but why is its size so enormous? Ash, do you know something?” Bill looked at Ash in confusion.

”This is an Ancient Dragonite. Ancient Pokemon are all very large in size. They should have been affected by some mysterious power and have been in a deep sleep until now.

The reason this Dragonite is circling the globe and emitting a lonely sound should be to search for companions like itself.”

As Ash was explaining, the Ancient Dragonite also arrived next to the lighthouse.

By the light from the lighthouse, the figure of this Ancient Dragonite became clear: over a hundred meters tall, exuding a terrifying Pressure.

Dragonite arrived full of anticipation, thinking it would see long-lost companions, only to discover it had been subjected to a broadcast scam. This truly infuriated the Pokémon; where could it put its face? Instantly, anger surged, and it shattered the lighthouse with a single slap.

Ash took the opportunity to use the system to scan Dragonite’s basic information.

[Description: This is an Ancient Pokemon that was affected by a mysterious Pokemon and fell into a long sleep. Due to prolonged sleep, its strength has declined...]

The Ancient Dragonite, a Secondary God, had such a rich skill list that Ash was stunned.

However, it was a good thing that the opponent had only recovered to the Elite Mid-stage. If it were any higher, even with a type advantage, he might not be able to defeat it.

After shattering the lighthouse, the Ancient Dragonite was still not appeased. At this moment, she discovered the people who had pranked her.

”Woo!” (Humans, how dare you deceive me? You must pay the price for this!)

Feeling Dragonite’s intense killing intent, Ash hurriedly mobilized his Aura and Viridian powers to communicate with Dragonite: ”Dragonite, we didn’t intend to deceive you. If you are looking for Pokemon from your era, I can help you. I know information about three Ancient Pokemon, but they are not of the same species as you.”

(Is the information true? I’m tired of human deception.)

Dragonite used telepathy to transmit a message to Ash.

”Of course.”

Ash did not hesitate.

Ancient Dragonite’s fierce gaze lingered on Ash for three seconds, and the ferocity suddenly dissipated. She felt Ash’s sincerity, as well as the Aura of several Primary Gods Entanglement around Ash: the Aura represented Arceus, the Rainbow Feather represented Ho-Oh, and the Psychic power had Mew’s Aura.

Ancient Dragonite stated that she was not afraid of these three beings; she simply found Ash pleasing to the eye.
