Pokemon: Reborn As Ash, I'll Conquer Every League

Chapter 38: Chapter 38 Arrival at Lighthouse

Chapter 38 Arrival at Lighthouse

After catching the Squirtle Squad, Ash and the others didn’t stay long in the town. After resupplying, they continued their journey to Vermilion City.

However, the three quickly regretted it, as they were lost again and again.

”By the way, where are we?” Misty asked Brock, confused.

”I don’t know either.”

Brock, holding a map, replied straightforwardly.

To this, Misty could only sigh helplessly, ”Annoying, we’re lost again.”

”Misty, relax, we are already close to the seaside,” Ash said.

He could already hear the sound of the waves, and his Aura could sense the presence of Water-type Pokemon.

Being near the ocean meant there was a lighthouse, and seeing the lighthouse meant they weren’t far from the Ancient Dragonite.

Ash had been looking forward to that Ancient Dragonite for a long time. Even if his current strength wasn’t enough to catch it, he could see if he could gain some benefits from this Dragonite, after all, he knew information about other ancient Pokemon, so he could always get some good things.

”Seaside?”

Misty was stunned, then as if remembering something, she strode with her long legs towards the ocean.

”Water-type Pokemon, here I come!”

Looking at Misty’s back, Ash and Brock exchanged glances and couldn’t help but laugh.

Indeed, as Ash said, they were only a few hundred meters from the seaside. The three stayed at the beach for an hour. During this hour, Misty, the most excited person, didn’t catch any Pokemon. However, Ash, as in the original story, caught an underdeveloped Krabby on the beach.

Under the glow of the setting sun, Ash and his friends arrived at Bill’s lighthouse.

”Ash, is this really Pokémon Doctor’s residence?”

Misty looked at the somewhat dilapidated lighthouse in front of her, confused.

This residence was a bit different from her understanding of Pokémon Doctor, after all, in her eyes, Ash never seemed to care about money, always choosing the best for everything, completely disregarding the price.

”This lighthouse is indeed the residence of Dr. Bill, who developed the Pokemon storage system. Dr. Bill and I have known each other for a long time. He used to frequently visit Dr. Oak’s laboratory for exchanges. He is different from researchers like Dr. Oak; he doesn’t like staying in the laboratory and always prefers to research things he’s interested in.

However, Bill’s permanent residence at this lighthouse is actually related to a mysterious Pokemon. Although he himself has never seen that Pokemon, he only heard mysterious Growl from the other side of the sea.”

Ash and Bill were old acquaintances, but this was his first time visiting Bill’s home.

Looking at the giant stone gate of the lighthouse, Ash saw many Pokemon stone carvings, one of which was a kangaroo-like figure, resembling Mewtwo.

In his previous life, he only heard netizens say that there were Mewtwo-like stone carvings here, and he thought it was a lie, but now that he saw it, he could only praise the netizens’ keen eyesight.

He didn’t know if the carver made a mistake with Mew’s carving, or if someone truly discovered traces of ancient Mewtwo’s existence.

Ash leaned towards the former, after all, Mewtwo’s official description stated that it was a Pokemon jointly developed by Team Rockets.

Even if the Mega Evolution system came out later and Mewtwo could Mega Evolve, it couldn’t prove the existence of this species in ancient times. One should know that Mewtwo is a Pokemon comparable to a first-level god, and it’s also Psychic-type. Even if it doesn’t have a divine position, it can research the principles of Mega Evolution with its own abilities and create a super evolution stone for itself, which is not a problem.

Just as Ash was pondering the matter of the Mewtwo-like stone carving, Brock rang the doorbell.

Then, a strange bell sound rang out.

”Who is it?”

”I’m Ash, Bill, I’ve come to find you.”

Ash said into the electronic doorbell.

”Oh, it’s Ash! Wait for me... Ouch, no, it’s stuck.”

Hearing the bad sounds coming from inside, Ash quickly asked, ”Bill, are you okay?”

”No... nothing, it’s just that the Kabuto suit design had some problems, and I can’t undo it. I’ve opened the door, Ash, come quickly and Help.”

As Bill’s voice fell, the stone gate slowly opened.

Upon entering, Ash and the other two saw a bipedal Kabuto directly in front of them. There was no need to guess; that was Bill himself.

Bill heard footsteps and quickly shouted, ”Ash, come quickly and Help me undo it, the button is here.”

Ash heard this and could only reluctantly step forward to Help.

Misty and Brock watched the whole scene like they were watching a show.

Soon, with Ash’s Help, a Handsome man with green hair appeared before everyone.

”Hello, Dr. Bill, we are Ash’s travel companions, nice to meet you...” Misty and Brock quickly greeted him.

”Haha, no need to be polite, Ash’s friends are my friends, just make yourselves at home. But does anyone among you know how to cook? I’m a bit...”

Hoothoot~

Before Bill could finish, his stomach provided the answer.

”Leave the cooking to me, I guarantee you’ll be satisfied!”

Brock took the initiative to take on the role of chef.

”That’s great!”

Bill shed tears of happiness.

While Brock prepared dinner, Ash used Bill’s phone and Pokemon transfer system. He transferred the previously caught Squirtle Squad members and Milotic to Dr. Oak, and then he called his mother to report his safety.

If it weren’t for the late hour, Ash would have called Serena to chat for a long time.

”Dr. Bill, I heard Ash say that you are stationed in this lighthouse because of a mysterious Pokemon. What kind of Pokemon is it exactly?” Misty asked curiously.

”Well, what kind of Pokemon it is, I don’t know either. I only know that it must be very lonely. It was a very foggy night when I passed by here and heard its voice. At first, I didn’t pay much attention, but later, after hearing it more often, I felt the loneliness of its Growl, and it was precisely because of this that I wanted to study it and understand it.”

”Oh, you’ve come at a very opportune time. According to my observations, these few days are when that Growl is frequent. Ash, you shouldn’t be in a hurry, right?” Bill suddenly asked.

”The Indigo Plateau Conference isn’t until the end of the year, still nearly seven months away, so I have plenty of time.”

Ash had already planned to encounter the giant Dragonite, so Bill’s invitation came at the perfect time.

”That’s great! With your Help, Ash, I believe we’re not far from the truth!”

”Then, Bill, we’ll be imposing for the next few days.”

”No problem, but Ash, you know, I’m not good at cooking...”

Bill’s true motive was revealed. He narrowed his eyes and smiled, looking at Brock who was busy in the kitchen.

No need to think, what he truly wanted to keep was the delicious food.

Ash was speechless about this.

He really couldn’t understand these research doctors. Given their status, was it really that hard to hire a cook? Dr. Oak liked to cook instant noodles in the lab with beakers and alcohol lamps, and this guy Bill liked to freeload off other people’s chefs, too lazy to cook himself.
