Reincarnated as a Mosquito, I Sucked the Reborn Empress to Tears

Chapter 300: Chapter 300: Insect Race Calamity, 100,000 Fourth-Grade Demon Beasts

After leaving the Credit Hall, Chu Sheng, huddled over Gu Yuexi’s phone, began to carefully examine the mission details.

The mission location was Secret Realm Nine at Jing University.

And the mission objective, true to its name, was to resolve a “bee calamity.”

According to the mission details, about two months ago, an extremely tenacious and shockingly destructive type of Demon Beast had suddenly appeared in Jing University’s Secret Realm Nine—the Bloodthirsty Demon Bee.

To be more precise, it was a Bloodthirsty Demon Bee Swarm!

The individual strength of these Demon Beasts wasn’t particularly outstanding. Most of the worker bees were consistently around the Fourth-Grade.

Some of the Soldier Bees responsible for guarding were even stronger, capable of reaching Fifth-Grade or even Sixth-Grade.

But the real problem was their numbers!

So many!

There were simply too many of them!

According to the preliminary estimate from the school’s reconnaissance team, the entire swarm numbered at least in the tens of thousands!

And that was just a conservative estimate; the actual number was likely much higher!

Moreover, that number was still growing at a terrifying rate as they constantly bred and multiplied!

Like a plague of locusts, these Bloodthirsty Demon Bees would swarm and attack the other Demon Beasts in the Secret Realm. Regardless of their grade, once targeted by the swarm, only one fate awaited them—to be drained into a desiccated corpse.

They would carry the Qi Blood they drained from the Demon Beasts back to the mother nest, offering it up to the swarm’s sole ruler—the Queen Bee.

The Queen Bee, in turn, would use this immense Qi Blood Energy to breed more Demon Bees day and night… Thus, the cycle repeated, forming a perfect system of “using war to fuel war.”

The emergence of the Bloodthirsty Demon Bee Swarm has already severely disrupted the ecological balance of Secret Realm Nine.

If this is allowed to continue, it won’t be long before all of Secret Realm Nine’s resources are completely devoured by this swarm of terrifying predators, turning it into a barren wasteland.

What was even stranger was that the appearance of this Demon Beast was, in itself, a huge mystery.

This was because in Secret Realm Nine, there had never been any records of the “Bloodthirsty Demon Bee.”

It was as if they had appeared out of thin air—a completely and utterly foreign, invasive species!

The university had also organized several eradication campaigns, but they all ended in failure because the swarm was too large and its members fought with no fear of death.

Therefore, the objective of this mission was simple, and also brutal:

Completely eliminate the bee swarm calamity in Secret Realm Nine!

Ideally, find the Queen Bee and the mother nest and destroy them together, solving the problem at its source.

…

After reading the entire mission description, Chu Sheng, who was perched on Gu Yuexi’s head, rested his chin on his two front legs and fell into deep thought.

’This mission… why does it feel a little familiar?’

’Bloodthirsty Demon Bee?’

’Doesn’t this sound remarkably similar to the Spirit-Devouring Insect Calamity I encountered back on Hong Kong Island?’

’Although, on second thought, it seems these Bloodthirsty Demon Bees are much more powerful than the Spirit-Devouring Worms.’

’The Spirit-Devouring Worms only devoured Spiritual Qi, while these things can actually drain the Qi Blood from Demon Beasts, just like me?’

’Hmm…’

’That raises a question, then.’

A glint of wisdom and greed flickered in Chu Sheng’s tiny eyes.

’These Demon Beasts work so hard to drain Qi Blood, only to bring it back and offer it to the Queen Bee…’

’So, couldn’t I just… intercept them on the way?’

’It’s like a group of diligent little couriers are busy transporting precious cargo, and I can just play the part of a highway robber!’

’And another thing, something even more important!’

’These Bloodthirsty Demon Bees should count as insect-type Demon Beasts, right?’

’Insect-type Demon Beasts? That’s my specialty!’

’As long as they’re insect Demon Beasts at or below my grade, I can absorb them into my Nether Flame Insect Nest and turn them into my underlings, can’t I?’

’Isn’t this damn mission practically tailor-made for me?’

’This isn’t a mission, it’s a supply run to my personal all-you-can-eat buffet!’

’Tens of thousands of mobile Qi Blood Packages, plus a powerful swarm that I can potentially tame!’

“BZZZ BZZZ BZZZ! (This is great! Absolutely fantastic!)”

Chu Sheng excitedly buzzed and tapped all over Gu Yuexi’s head, so much that she was about to roll her eyes in exasperation.

Gu Yuexi:

“You damn mosquito, have you gone crazy?!”

“BZZZ! (I know, I know! Hurry up! Let’s go, go, go!)”

At his urging, Gu Yuexi also quickened her pace. The human and beast duo quickly arrived outside Secret Realm Nine, located in the mountains behind Jing University.

…

Because of the bee calamity, Secret Realm Nine was currently in a state of partial closure.

Normally, entering Secret Realm Nine to train would cost credits based on the duration of the visit—at least 20 credits per hour, calculated with a three-hour minimum.

However, since Gu Yuexi was here to complete an officially posted cleanup mission, she could enter for free.

She walked to the entrance and briefly registered her information with the instructor on duty guarding the Secret Realm.

Just as they finished the formalities and were about to enter the Wormhole, the sound of hurried footsteps came from behind.

Qin Wudao had arrived with his team, looking aggressive and imposing.

When he saw Gu Yuexi preparing to enter the Secret Realm, a mocking sneer immediately appeared on his face.

“Heh, Sister Gu, are you really planning to do this mission alone?”

“From what I know, after two months of constant breeding, the number of those Bloodthirsty Demon Bees has probably already broken the one-hundred-thousand mark.”

“A swarm of one hundred thousand fearless Demon Bees… even a Seventh-Grade Grandmaster would be in for a world of hurt if they got trapped. I suggest you think this through.”

He crossed his arms, looking down on Gu Yuexi condescendingly.

“For the sake of us being schoolmates, I’ll give you one last chance. If you want to join our team now, it’s not too…”

Qin Wudao’s words caught in his throat before he could finish.

Because Gu Yuexi, as if she hadn’t heard a word he said, didn’t even bother to give him a single glance. With a flash, she had already stepped straight into the Secret Realm’s Light Gate and disappeared.

“…”

The smug smile on Qin Wudao’s face instantly froze.

’It’s happening again!’

’This complete and utter dismissal!’

Since he was young, Qin Wudao had always been a top prodigy, met with nothing but fawning compliments and smiling faces! This feeling was something he was experiencing for the very first time!

While it made him furious, he also found it… somewhat addicting!

“Let’s go! We’re going in too!”

…

VWOOM—

After a slight spatial fluctuation, Gu Yuexi and Chu Sheng appeared in a patch of jungle.

This was Secret Realm Nine.

The air was filled with a dense Spiritual Qi, as well as… a faint, almost unnoticeable, scent of blood.

Chu Sheng didn’t even need to deliberately use his Perception; the moment he entered the Secret Realm, he immediately activated Nether Vision.

In the next second, he was completely stunned by the sight before him.

Within the range of his Nether Vision’s perception, an area spanning a full thirty-thousand-meter radius was densely packed—an overwhelming blanket of red dots, all flashing with a crimson light!

Each red dot represented a living being.

And these red dots were clearly the mission’s targets—the Bloodthirsty Demon Bees!

Judging by the density and coverage of these red dots, their total number had probably far, far exceeded the “tens of thousands” mentioned in the mission file!

’One hundred thousand?’

Chu Sheng felt that even that was just a conservative estimate!

’A hundred thousand Fourth-Grade Demon Beasts! Although the combat power of Insect Beasts is relatively weak, a number like that could only be described as utterly terrifying!’

“BZZZ. (Whoa, now that’s a lot of them! This is something else!)”

However, there wasn’t a trace of fear in Chu Sheng’s buzzing—not even a little bit!

There was only immense excitement!!!
