Reincarnated as a Mosquito, I Sucked the Reborn Empress to Tears

Chapter 290: Chapter 290: Su Yingxue’s Challenge, a Passionate Battle of Empresses?

The next morning.

Jing University, Beast Taming Academy, S-Class classroom.

Although it wasn’t time for class yet, the classroom was already filled with students, and the atmosphere was buzzing.

The center of everyone’s discussion was none other than the new student who had registered yesterday, Gu Yuexi, and the trending post on the campus forums that had been bumped to the top.

It was only natural for a prominent figure to emerge in the class and become the center of attention. Even the prodigies of S-Class wouldn’t miss out on any of the drama.

Just then, a cool and distant figure appeared at the classroom door.

Gu Yuexi walked in.

WHOOSH—!

The once-noisy classroom instantly fell silent, as if someone had pressed a mute button. In a flash, not a sound could be heard.

Everyone watched her with mixed expressions.

After the shock of yesterday’s combat drill and the heated discussions on the campus forums over the past two days, the way the students of the Beast Taming Class’s S-Class looked at Gu Yuexi had completely changed.

Gu Yuexi seemed oblivious to it all.

The only reason she came to class was for the academic credits.

She had attended Jing University in her past life and knew that many of its Secret Realms required credits to enter.

Those places were the true purpose of her trip.

She walked straight to the window seat she had taken yesterday, sat down, and closed her eyes, as if the world around her had nothing to do with her.

At that moment.

Suddenly, a commotion and gasps of surprise erupted from outside the classroom.

“Look! It’s Su Yingxue!”

“What’s she doing here at our Beast Taming Academy?”

Amidst the murmurs, Su Yingxue of the Mind Master Academy strode in, head held high, surrounded by a crowd of supporters.

Today, she was like a completely different person from the lethargic figure she had been yesterday.

Her Qi Blood was vigorous and her face rosy, her Spirit was full, and her beautiful eyes shone brightly. It was as if she had been thoroughly nourished by some Miracle Elixir; she was in peak condition.

Chu Sheng, who had been catching up on sleep atop Gu Yuexi’s head, was woken by the noise. He opened his eyes and glanced over.

Whoa!

’This Su Yingxue’s recovery is pretty impressive!’ he clicked his tongue in amazement. ’I drained her until her eyes were rolling back in her head yesterday, and today she’s already back to full health? Looks like her Mental Power foundation really is solid. She’s a good seedling… I’ll have to take a few more sips next time!’

…

Su Yingxue ignored the looks of astonishment and adoration from the others in the classroom. Her gaze, sharp as a sword, locked precisely onto Gu Yuexi in the back row.

She walked over step by step and stopped in front of Gu Yuexi’s desk.

Looking down at her, she spoke in an icy voice:

“Gu Yuexi, I’ve come to issue you a challenge.”

A challenge?!

BOOM!

The entire classroom erupted in an instant!

Were the two “Future Empresses” about to have a real, no-holds-barred confrontation?

PK challenges between geniuses were common at Jing University. After all, it was a Martial Arts University that valued friendly competition.

But a duel this full of hype and raw tension was a rare sight!

This was definitely the drama of the year!

Everyone grew excited. They had all predicted that these two “Future Empresses” would eventually have to determine who was superior, but they never expected it to happen so soon!

Was Su Yingxue really that confident?!

Faced with Su Yingxue’s challenge, Gu Yuexi didn’t even lift an eyelid. She continued to gaze out the window and spoke faintly,

“Why should I agree to your challenge?”

Su Yingxue seemed to have expected this. She sneered,

“Didn’t you say I was weak?”

“Prove it to me.”

Gu Yuexi finally turned her head and glanced at her, her expression like she was looking at an unreasonable, petulant child.

“Why do I need to prove it to you?”

“Besides, wasn’t yesterday’s drill proof enough?”

“Yesterday, you just got lucky by relying on that mosquito’s Spatial Ability! It doesn’t prove anything!” Su Yingxue retorted without backing down, her gaze shifting to Chu Sheng on Gu Yuexi’s head with a flash of disdain.

“A real battle can’t be won with cheap tricks!”

Chu Sheng, perched on Gu Yuexi’s head, perked up instantly.

BUZZ BUZZ? ’Hehe, this involves me?’

“Do you dare or not? Just say the word.”

Su Yingxue’s gaze remained locked on Gu Yuexi, her aura overbearing.

…

The room was silent for one second, two seconds, three.

Everyone was waiting for Gu Yuexi’s answer.

“I accept.”

“As you wish.”

Under everyone’s watchful gaze, Gu Yuexi had finally uttered those two faint words.

The next second, the classroom—and the hallway outside—erupted into an even greater uproar than before!

Gu Yuexi had agreed to such a tedious affair for two reasons.

For one, she was getting annoyed.

Rather than being constantly challenged by nobodies in the future, it was better to use this opportunity to solve all her problems at once. She would use her absolute strength as a warning to everyone: don’t come and bother her over every little thing.

For another, she needed the reputation.

In a place like Jing University, a big enough reputation came with many conveniences and privileges.

For example, as long as she proved she was strong enough, she could apply for an exemption from basic courses like this one and not have to waste her time sitting here every day.

With Gu Yuexi’s acceptance of the challenge, news of the live PK between the two “Future Empresses” swept through the entire Jing University campus like a hurricane, stirring up an even more frenzied wave of discussion than before!

It was safe to say that it had been a long time since anything had generated this much buzz at Jing University.

…

「That afternoon.」

Jing University’s largest Martial Arts Hall was already packed to the brim with people.

In the center of the Martial Arts Hall stood a massive Martial Arts Arena forged from a special alloy. Its surface was covered in a profound Defense Array, powerful enough to withstand a full-force blow from a King-level Powerhouse.

By now, the spectator stands around the Martial Arts Arena were completely full, with even the aisles crammed with students who had rushed over after hearing the news.

“She’s here, she’s here! Look! It’s the pride of our Mind Master Academy, Sister Su Yingxue!”

“Go, Sister Su! Show her the power of a prodigy from our own Capital City!”

“That Gu Yuexi is way too arrogant! Does she really think she’s invincible? Let Sister Su teach her a lesson today!”

The chatter rose and fell, with the vast majority of people cheering for Su Yingxue.

After all, one was their familiar and beloved “personal goddess,” while the other was an “outsider” of unknown origin who had been outrageously arrogant from the moment she arrived.

It was obvious who they would support.

Of course.

there were also many who rationally favored Gu Yuexi.

But such people generally didn’t shout and scream.

Sometimes, the more ignorant a person is, the louder they cheer. This held true even at Jing University.

Inside the Martial Arts Hall.

It wasn’t just ordinary students in attendance. Today’s duel had also attracted many famous and influential figures from Jing University.

“Look over there! That’s the top student of the third-year Artifact Refining System! His Forging Skill is said to be godlike, and I heard he can already create Profound Tier Spiritual Artifacts!”

“And her! The senior from the Elixir System, a natural-born prodigy of the Alchemy Dao!”

“Oh my god, why are even they here?”

Even these prodigies, who were usually so elusive, had come to watch the battle!

This undoubtedly ignited the atmosphere even further.

Just then, a cry of astonishment, louder than any before, erupted from the crowd!

An imposing figure, surrounded by a group of people, slowly walked into the Martial Arts Hall.

“It’s Qin Wudao! It’s actually Senior Qin Wudao!”

“My god! Am I seeing things? Didn’t Senior Qin go to the Alien Race battlefront to train? Why is he back?”

“He… he seems even stronger! Look at the aura he’s emitting! It’s suffocating!”

The newcomer was none other than the legendary figure ranked third on Jing University’s Celestial Pride List, Qin Wudao!

His appearance instantly pushed the atmosphere in the Martial Arts Hall to its peak.

At that moment, a sharp-eyed student suddenly pointed at something on Qin Wudao’s chest and shrieked, their voice trembling:

“A… a medal! Look at the medal on his chest! Oh my god, isn’t that a military merit medal from the Military Department! It’s a Broken Army One-Star Level!”

“What?! Broken Army One Star?!”

Sure enough, pinned to Qin Wudao’s chest was a bronze medal. Upon it, a single star gleamed brilliantly under the lights of the Martial Arts Hall!
