Reincarnated as a Mosquito, I Sucked the Reborn Empress to Tears

Chapter 268: Chapter 268: The Alien Race is Great! A Great Tonic

This mutated Spirit-Devouring Worm was acting extremely abnormally, even beginning to violently attack other Spirit-Devouring Worms.

And that wasn’t all.

Soon, more and more Spirit-Devouring Worms began to mutate!

Two… four… eight… Ten thousand… thirty thousand! Within a mere ten seconds, all thirty thousand Spirit-Devouring Worms had mutated.

Their eyes all turned a ghastly scarlet, and then they turned in unison to look at Chu Sheng and the other two.

“This is bad!”

Qi Chongshan cried out in alarm, taking a step forward to shield Gu Yuexi behind him.

“These Insect Beasts have also undergone a mental mutation!”

“You two, stand back and be careful. I’ll handle this.”

The moment the words left Qi Chongshan’s mouth, the sky-blotting swarm of Spirit-Devouring Worms frenziedly attacked the three of them.

Just as Qi Chongshan was about to act, Chu Sheng’s figure suddenly appeared in front of him.

Chu Sheng watched the charging Spirit-Devouring Insect Beasts and sneered inwardly.

’So this Alien Race has a few tricks up its sleeve, huh?’

’But… trying to wrest control of my Insect Beasts from me? Did you ask my almighty System for permission?!’

Just as the Spirit-Devouring Insect Beasts were about to swarm his face, Chu Sheng recited a single word in his mind:

’Withdraw!’

Instantly, the sky-full of Spirit-Devouring Insect Beasts vanished, recalled into the Nether Flame Insect Nest Space! For these Insect Beasts that came from the Nether Flame Insect Nest, Chu Sheng’s control was absolute!

Even if the Spirit-Devouring Beasts’ consciousness was contaminated, as long as Chu Sheng took over, their every move would follow only his command.

He could even make all the Insect Beasts die with a single thought.

Of course, letting them die would be a waste. Chu Sheng had merely recalled them for now.

’Heh, you like using Spiritual Contamination, do you?’

’Let’s see what this is all about!’

Chu Sheng’s consciousness entered the Nether Flame Insect Nest to investigate.

The Spiritual Contamination affecting the thirty thousand Spirit-Devouring Beasts had not disappeared. Their eyes were still scarlet, and they were held motionless, imprisoned within the Insect Nest Space.

’In that case… Divine Path Purifying Flame, ignite!’

Besides injecting it through the God-devouring Needle, Chu Sheng could also use the Divine Path Purifying Flame within his own body, including inside the Insect Nest Space.

With a single thought from Chu Sheng, the flames of purification ignited on all the Spirit-Devouring Worms!

As soon as these purifying flames appeared, a wisp of blood-red energy was refined out from within the body of every Spirit-Devouring Worm.

In just a few moments, all the Spirit-Devouring Worms returned to normal.

At the same time, the Energy refined from their bodies was collected by the Insect Nest. Since this Energy was not a product of the Nest, it was immediately expelled from the Insect Nest Space.

「In front of the Ancient Mansion.」

A red, semi-corporeal sphere of energy appeared before Chu Sheng.

Without any hesitation, he plunged his proboscis into it and began to absorb!

[Ding! High-grade Energy (Alien Race) detected. Absorbing…]

[Ding! Absorption complete. Mental Power +3000, Evolution Points +3000]

Hahaha!

Hearing the system’s notification, Chu Sheng was laughing hysterically inside.

’This actually works?’

’These 3,000 Mental Power and Evolution Points were a complete freebie!’

’It’s a good thing I completed my sixth evolution and obtained the Divine Path Purifying Flame before coming back!’

In truth, until he started absorbing it, Chu Sheng wasn’t sure if he could really refine the Alien Race Energy out of a Mutant’s body this way.

He never thought it would actually work!

The Alien Race must use some kind of High Grade Mental Power to contaminate the Mental Power of humans or Demon Beasts.

And in reality, Mental Power is, in essence, just another form of Energy.

…

“You damn mosquito, how are things?”

Gu Yuexi came to Chu Sheng’s side and asked with some concern.

Chu Sheng buzzed twice in triumph and issued another command!

The dense swarm of Spirit-Devouring Insect Beasts reappeared, all of them now awakened from their mutated state!

“BUZZ (Bring it on!)”

“BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ! (Go on and contaminate them again if you dare!)”

’If you contaminate them again, I’ll just refine another wave of energy!’

’If it’s really going to be like this, I could stay here all day!’

However, he was soon disappointed.

As if realizing it was useless, the Spirit-Devouring Insect Beasts were not contaminated again. Instead, a CREAK… CREAK… suddenly echoed from the entrance of the Ancient Mansion.

The dilapidated main gate of the Ancient Mansion was slowly swinging open without any external force…

Seeing this, Gu Yuexi showed no fear. Instead, she sneered.

“Heh, the thing inside is provoking us.”

“Daring us to go in.”

Hearing this, Qi Chongshan snorted angrily.

“Mere remnants, daring to be so arrogant before me!”

“Gu Yuexi, be careful once we’re inside. If something feels wrong, use your Spatial Ability to retreat immediately!”

The matter of the mental mutations had plagued Qi Chongshan for over a month. Now that he had finally found the culprit, he was impatient to resolve it!

He strode toward the Ancient Mansion without hesitation.

Gu Yuexi and Chu Sheng followed him.

…

CREAK…

As the three of them drew near, the half-open door of the Ancient Mansion swung open even wider.

After the three of them stepped inside,

the dilapidated gate slammed shut behind them!

“Hmph, just a bunch of cheap tricks!”

Before the words had even left Qi Chongshan’s mouth, the scene before him suddenly distorted!

“This is bad!” Realizing he had fallen into a trap, he spun around, only to see the figures of Gu Yuexi and Chu Sheng ripple like water in the air before vanishing completely!

Only he remained, along with the still-dilapidated gate of the Ancient Mansion, which now emanated bizarre spatial fluctuations.

“A Space Array?”

Qi Chongshan’s face turned grim, and he grew anxious.

He strode over and slammed his palm against the mansion gate. The gate shattered completely, but no spatial fluctuations emerged.

Although Qi Chongshan was a King-level Powerhouse, he was not proficient in the Spatial Realm!

’Dammit!’

He cursed inwardly, filled with regret for being so careless.

If anything happened to Gu Yuexi and her Contracted Beast, he would be unable to escape the blame! Furthermore, the fact that the Chen Family had set up such an Array clearly meant they had come prepared.

It might even have been set up specifically for Gu Yuexi!

’That’s it!’

’The Chen Family… it seems they set a trap here specifically to lure Gu Yuexi?’

At this thought, Qi Chongshan’s heart lurched in shock!

’No, I can’t wait any longer!’

Not daring to delay for a second, he immediately pulled a Jade Talisman carved with special markings from his robes and crushed it without hesitation!

“Old Lei, get here now! The situation is critical!”

“I, Qi Chongshan, am begging you this time!”

As his words fell,

the Jade Talisman transformed into a streak of golden light and vanished over the horizon in an instant.

…

「Meanwhile.」

Chu Sheng and Gu Yuexi felt a powerful spatial tug as the light and shadows around them shifted rapidly.

When they steadied themselves, the scene before them had completely changed!

Where were the crumbling walls, the cobwebs, and the dust?

Chu Sheng looked around. Before him was a magnificent, brightly lit hall with intricately carved beams and painted rafters! It was as if the Ancient Mansion had instantly returned to its most prosperous and glorious era.

“An Illusion Technique?”

’No? It seems to be some kind of Space Array? Or spatial teleportation?’

’Everything here is real. The Chen Family… they actually rebuilt their Ancient Mansion long ago?’

Gu Yuexi’s eyes turned cold. With a single thought, the Empress Battle Armor instantly covered her entire body.

Chu Sheng was the first to fly into the hall ahead.

Although the place looked magnificent and bright, it was completely empty and eerily quiet, exuding a strange aura from every corner.

Suddenly, the sound of footsteps came from behind a large screen in the hall.

“Heh heh, Gu Yuexi. Long time no see.”

Following the voice, a figure slowly appeared… To their shock, it was none other than the supposedly long-dead… Liu Ming?!
