Reincarnated as a Mosquito, I Sucked the Reborn Empress to Tears

Chapter 257: Chapter 257: The Empress’s Pride, Gu Yuexi Knows the Clone Technique Too?

「The next day.」

All day long, the Mu Family made no move.

「Evening.」

Gu Yuexi and Chu Sheng had just left the gates of Hong Kong University.

Suddenly, a streak of black light shot toward Gu Yuexi.

Gu Yuexi stopped, making no move to dodge. The streak of black light zipped past, just grazing her forehead, and embedded itself deep into the stone wall by the university gate.

It was an ebony dart with black feathers on its tail.

Gu Yuexi turned her head and exchanged a look with Chu Sheng, who was on her shoulder.

“Heh, they’re finally here.”

Chu Sheng flew over, easily pulled out the dart, and sure enough, there was a letter inside.

Opening the letter revealed just two lines of text:

“Hell Gate, Chen Clan.”

“Tonight at 9:15 PM, Viyah Port.”

Expressionless, Gu Yuexi turned and left the university gate with Chu Sheng.

The letter, naturally, was from the Mu Family.

After leaving the Mu Family’s estate, Chu Sheng had told Gu Yuexi the general situation.

And, thanks to the Reconnaissance Louse he had left in Mu Xiong’s hair, Chu Sheng knew every move the Mu Family was making.

At this very moment, the direct lineage of the Mu Family had already left Hong Kong Island by sea, taking with them the majority of the family’s assets under the escort of two Elders.

Meanwhile, the remaining Elders of the Mu Family had set an ambush at Viyah Port on Hong Kong Island.

They wanted to kill Gu Yuexi and Chu Sheng, partly because of the conditions set by a certain family in the White Eagle Empire, but even more so because of the Mu Family’s own hatred!

They were a proud member of the Ten Great Clans, a pillar of Hong Kong Island for a century, yet now they were forced to sneak away like dogs with their tails between their legs.

But!

Even if they had to leave, they would first leave an indelible mark on Hong Kong Island!

’The Future Empress?’

’The Divine Mosquito?’

’The center of all attention on Hong Kong Island?’

The Mu Family would use their lives to commemorate their own downfall!

…

「Nangong Family, secret chamber.」

Chu Sheng was perched on a tablet, his six legs tapping rapidly. A line of text appeared on the screen:

“So, the Mu Family has finally laid their trap. What’s our plan?”

Gu Yuexi sneered.

“Going by the letter, the Mu Family actually managed to uncover some inside information about the assassins. Too bad… I already got all of it out of that Shadow’s mouth.”

’Got it out of him?’

Chu Sheng recalled the miserable state of the Shadow he had seen when he came looking for Gu Yuexi yesterday.

’Tsk, tsk. Must have been a rather intense interrogation.’

He went back to typing—CLACK CLACK CLACK. Having six legs really made him a fast typist.

“So what’s the call? Are we still going?”

Gu Yuexi’s voice was icy.

“We’re going. Why wouldn’t we?”

“Anyone who dares to move against this Empress meets only one end: death.”

“What? Are you scared, you damned mosquito?”

Gu Yuexi said, raising an eyebrow at Chu Sheng.

The Mu Family was one of the Ten Great Clans, after all. Even if Mu Cangxuan’s rank had fallen, the family still had at least ten Elders.

Mu Xiong and Mu Hong were both around the Eighth-Grade, and the others were around the Seventh-Grade.

Against such strength, the current Chu Sheng and Gu Yuexi stood no chance of winning at all.

If they went, it would be a death sentence!

The reason the Mu Family left so many Elders for the ambush was mainly because they needed to set up a Space Array, and also to handle their escape after killing Gu Yuexi and Chu Sheng.

After killing Gu Yuexi, the Mu Family’s Elders would split into several groups and flee Hong Kong Island in different directions.

Otherwise, if it were simply a matter of killing Gu Yuexi, honestly, Mu Xiong alone would be more than enough.

Chu Sheng met Gu Yuexi’s gaze. He rubbed his front legs together, chuckled inwardly, and continued typing:

“Scared?”

“Nonono, this mosquito simply has a better idea.”

“The Mu Family wants to make a move on us, so we can make a move on them first… I’m talking about those direct lineage disciples who have already fled, and the Mu Family assets they’re carrying!”

Gu Yuexi raised an eyebrow, gesturing for Chu Sheng to continue.

Chu Sheng was getting excited, his mosquito legs tapping furiously:

“On one hand, I can use a clone to go to Viyah Port, attract the attention of the Mu Family Elders, and buy some time.”

“Meanwhile, the two of us can go directly after the ship transporting the Mu Family’s direct lineage and resources!”

“And then… we finish them!!”

Gu Yuexi paused.

“What does that mean?”

Chu Sheng:

“Oh, it means we take them all out.”

“Most importantly, all those resources the Mu Family has… hehehe…”

As Chu Sheng typed this, a glob of saliva dripped right from his mouth onto the screen…

Gu Yuexi nodded.

From Mu Xiong’s arrangements, it was clear the Mu Family placed great importance on their direct bloodline disciples and the vast majority of their assets. That was why he had waited a whole day, only making his move after the ship carrying the Mu Family disciples was outside Hong Kong Island’s waters.

’And what if Mu Xiong, so confident in his ambush, instead received news that every last one of the Mu Family’s disciples was dead and all their assets had vanished?’

’That damned mosquito.’

’He’s actually more ruthless than I am. But that suits this Empress perfectly!’

’Heh. Anyone who dares to move against me must be prepared to pay the most painful price.’

Finally, Gu Yuexi spoke.

“I have one more question.”

“You just said you’d use a clone to attract the attention of Mu Xiong and the others.”

“What clone?”

Chu Sheng blinked. ’Huh?’

’Oh, right. I used my Celestial Thunder Illusion in front of her during the academy tournament, but she doesn’t know it’s a clone.’

Chu Sheng chuckled slyly.

“BUZZ, BUZZ BUZZ.”

As the buzzing stopped, a purple light flashed across Chu Sheng’s body, and then, an identical “mosquito” appeared beside him.

“You!”

Gu Yuexi’s eyes widened in shock, but she immediately understood.

“You used a clone during the academy tournament!”

“No wonder you could escape my Divine Thought Cage. It turns out I only ever trapped a clone.”

Chu Sheng smiled to himself.

’Back then, I probably couldn’t have broken her Divine Thought Cage,’ he thought. ’But now? With my Realm-Breaking Claw, getting out of her Divine Thought Cage would just take a few scratches.’

He went back to typing on the screen:

“The Mu Family’s target is the two of us, so ideally we’d need two clones to pretend to fall into the trap and buy time.”

“But there’s nothing to be done if you don’t have a clone. One should be good enough…”

Chu Sheng was halfway through typing when Gu Yuexi cut him off.

“Hmph!”

“Who says I can’t make a clone?”

She snorted coldly. Then, her fingers formed a peculiar hand seal. Her Qi Blood surged and her Mental Power began to circulate!

A few seconds later, an identical Gu Yuexi actually appeared!

’What the hell?’

’She’s really something else!’

’You have to understand, the modern Cultivation System is almost entirely combat-focused. Magic like this, these Clone Techniques, were things you only heard about in ancient systems. They’ve long since been lost to time. Only Warlocks even study them anymore.’

’As expected of the Reborn Empress!’

Chu Sheng’s eyes lit up. He flew over, poked the cheek of the other Gu Yuexi, then flew back and poked the cheek of the original Gu Yuexi.

Bouncy and smooth. Exactly the same.
