Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Chapter 134: 134 Doubts

”Do you have time to plant radishes and cabbages in the yard?”

”You don’t come over, so who am I planting them for?”

Jiang Xinyu looked speechlessly at Wei Kaiyun. This guy is really something.

At 2:40 in the afternoon, the three of them set off for the station.

Wei Kaiyun was a bit reluctant, why go out so early to meet them? We’re definitely going to wait at the station for a while.

”Everyone’s here, why do you have that expression?”

Wei Kaiyun forced a smile, but said nothing.

Upon picking up Qian Jun and Song Qingqing, they headed straight back to the Textile Management Bureau.

”Director Jiang, were you uncomfortable during the journey?”

”It was okay, how about you?”

Song Qingqing looked distressed, ”I couldn’t get a sleeper ticket and was lectured by someone. I’ve been sitting all this time, it’s so uncomfortable.”

Jiang Xinyu sympathetically glanced at Song Qingqing. ”We’ll be going back in a few days, won’t we? Later you should ask Mr. Qian if he can pull some strings to get sleeper tickets.

Even with the heat, it’s more comfortable than in the carriage, right?”

The two of them whispered in the back, how could Wei Kaiyun next to them not hear?

Qian Jun turned around, ”Director Wei, please help us out.”

”Okay, I’ll ask. It should be possible; I know a few people in the engine department.”

”Director Wei, you’re really something!” Jiang Xinyu said playfully, looking at Wei Kaiyun.

”I hadn’t thought about this before, had I? I didn’t even consider sleeper tickets when I traveled myself.”

Wei Kaiyun felt quite wronged being spoken to by his wife like this.

The accommodations at the Textile Management Bureau were quickly arranged, and the rooms for Qian Jun and Song Qingqing were ready.

”I’ll treat you guys to dinner tonight.”

”Director Wei, let’s eat here,” Qian Jun said, feeling very uncomfortable.

”Alright, I’ll have someone arrange it.”

This was also considered a welcome for them. Jiang Xinyu looked at Song Qingqing’s droopy demeanor and shivered; she’d probably be just like this if she rode the train.

After dinner, Wei Kaiyun left reluctantly, always some people in the way.

The next day, the three of them directly sought out the leadership to report and awaited approval.

Jiang Xinyu internally griped, people sit at home and know everything in the world.

Just like Wei Kaiyun said, it’s merely a formality here, and the approvals have come through.

Qian Jun let the two rest while he personally went to find Wei Kaiyun to handle the train tickets.

The two girls were like bumpkins, curiously looking around in the entertainment room.

”Secretary Song, do you think we should apply to build an employee entertainment room? Would Mr. Qian agree?”

Song Qingqing shook her head, ”Director Jiang, I don’t dare; if you want it, you try.”

”Then why are you so envious?”

”Of course I’m envious, but I don’t dare apply.”

”Forget it, let’s go back and drop hints to Mr. Qian, you have to cooperate with me.”

”Sure thing, if it really happens, all the factory workers will thank you.”

”Don’t flatter me, I’m a straightforward person, just want some entertainment for myself.”

”Comrade, which unit are you from? Why are you at our textile factory?”

Jiang Xinyu looked at the male comrade who stopped them, noticed he was repeatedly glancing at Song Qingqing, and immediately understood. Is this a pick-up line?

”Hello, comrade, we’re from T City Textile Factory, here to report work.”

”So fellow workers, if you need anything, let me know. I can be your guide.”

”Thank you, comrade, we don’t need that. We’re just taking a look here.”

”I’m familiar with this place too, let me introduce it to you.”

Jiang Xinyu got used to this in her past life, so she adapted very well, indeed the person wasn’t seeking her out.

So she distanced herself slowly from the two like an outsider.

There are quite a few entertainment projects here, we really could propose this for workers to have leisure time, what do they call it? Balance work and entertainment?

”Director Jiang, wait for me.”

Jiang Xinyu noticed Song Qingqing’s accusing look and shrugged. What could she do? She wasn’t a superhero wearing underwear on the outside, rescuing from fire and water. Besides, wasn’t the male comrade just a bit overly enthusiastic?

Only then did the comrade shift his gaze to Jiang Xinyu. She’s the director? So young?

”May I ask which department this comrade is a director of?”

”This is our textile factory’s office director.”

”I apologize, I thought you were a regular worker.”

”Comrade, I’d like to inquire how many entertainment rooms are there in our employee house?”

”Just this one?”

”Then can the textile workers come here for entertainment every day?”

”Not exactly, workers work hard and most prefer to stay home after hours. On weekends, it’s busier with people bringing kids to play.”

”Oh.” Jiang Xinyu understood, it’s just for idle people to play.

Otherwise, during nearly a month at the textile factory, I wouldn’t have heard any gossip about coming here.

This male comrade hinted and outright accompanied them.

Qian Jun walked in and saw the situation, ”Director Jiang, Secretary Song.”

”Mr. Qian, how’s the sleeper ticket?” Song Qingqing asked anxiously, really dreading the train ride.

”Director Wei’s secretary is handling it, said they’ll bring them over during dinner tonight.”

”Director Wei is really considerate, even treating us to dinner?”

”Yes, you two go freshen up, we’ll eat out.”

That familiar comrade didn’t follow them now. ”Mr. Qian, since we’re expanding, can we give some benefits to the employees?”

After Jiang Xinyu spoke, she glanced at Song Qingqing beside her.

”Mr. Qian, I think Director Jiang’s proposal is excellent. Director Jiang mentioned balancing work and entertainment.”

Jiang Xinyu: When did I say that?

Qian Jun walked in front, ignoring the comedy duo behind him, but Jiang Xinyu was right, we could take the opportunity to organize the employee house during expansion.

”Mr. Qian, should I organize a vote or something at our factory?”

Qian Jun suddenly stopped, ”Since Director Jiang is so concerned about employee welfare and actively volunteers, I approve of Director Jiang’s application. You’ll be responsible when we return.”

”Mr. Qian, I can handle voting, but I’m afraid I can’t manage other things.”

”I believe in Director Jiang’s ability.”

”I also believe in Director Jiang’s capability.”

Jiang Xinyu awkwardly smiled, not wanting to take on the responsibility.

Back in her room, she took a shower and changed clothes.

”Director Jiang, why aren’t you wearing a skirt?”

”I can’t walk properly in a skirt. But you look pretty wearing it.”

”Right? I went to the park on Saturday, and many people asked me where I bought my skirt.”

Jiang Xinyu just smiled; now one-fifth of the female workers at the textile factory have bought blouses, it’s become quite the trend.

Qian Jun came out to find the two girls chatting at the door. How come there’s so much to say?
