Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Chapter 120: 120 days of intention

Jiang Xinyu felt frustrated inside. She was about to break away from the plot, so why did she pull herself back in? Depressing.

”Wife, nothing else matters. You must go back to the province with me. Wherever I am, that’s where you should be,” Wei Kaiyun’s attitude was very firm.

Jiang Xinyu shook her head, ”I originally had the chance to go with you, but I cut it off myself.

Don’t worry, I’ll be here for at most three years. I’ll visit you every month.”

”What opportunity?”

”You don’t need to know. Take me home, I’m not going to work today. I want to take a day off, too frustrated.”

”By the way, a deputy director and two secretaries arrived at the textile factory, Qian Jun made a great contribution and is now the director.”

”Then I’ll go to the union, it’s more lively there.”

”You think it’s nice, you also made a contribution, why would they let you go to the union?”

”I don’t want complicated work, the union is great. Find a way to let me go there. I don’t want to take on responsibility-heavy work.”

”Do you really want to go to the union?”

”Hmm, I do. I want to go, write promotional drafts every day, understand workers’ conditions in the workshop, it’s so relaxed.”

”I don’t care, I’m just looking forward to you going to the province.”

How did it circle back again? It’s endless. She was already frustrated because of this matter. So should she just ignore him?

Wei Kaiyun looked at the little girl beside him who had lost a lot of weight. He couldn’t bear to make her accompany him to the station, so he decided to let her rest at home.

Jiang Xinyu got off the car and went home, tidying up inside and outside, boiled dumplings for herself, and stayed at home in the afternoon to make clothes.

Now there are women wearing short-sleeved shirts, she wants to make a couple too. And pants, only cotton ones, but she can make a few more pairs, and even two vests.

These were bought at a fabric market in the early morning in a previous life, ten yuan for a big piece. She has more than ten pieces, but all are dull colors, black. They are all cut, and edges locked.

Thinking of the fabric she brought back from Russia, she might give Wang Ailing a piece, she would certainly want to wear it.

She doesn’t like dresses, finds them too inconvenient, never understood the beauty of wearing skirts.

If only she could make and wear cropped pants, just afraid that wearing them out would attract attention.

While daydreaming, she just refuses to think about her embarrassing matters. She had a chance to break away from the female lead, yet she messed it up herself. Not wanting to hate herself, she put all the blame on Secretary Tong, otherwise, emotions of regret would drown her.

She heard a knock and hurried to open the door. Wei Kaiyun came in holding her.

”Wife, I have to leave tonight.

The remaining fourteen thousand jin of wheat has been sent to Old Yang, just wait for him to bring you money.”

”Wife, are you really not leaving with me? I haven’t even left yet and I’m already missing you.”

”Let go of me, it’s too hot, you’re all sweaty.”

Wei Kaiyun wouldn’t let go, holding her as he got onto the Kang.

Looking at the little girl sleeping, Wei Kaiyun lovingly kissed her forehead. He already knew from Lv Beiguang about this girl’s recent behavior, truly hard on her.

He’s not leaving tonight. He’ll go tomorrow instead. She insists on not going with him, seeing her strong attitude, knowing if he forcibly takes her, it won’t make her happy.

Forget it, he’ll just visit her more often later. After all, she’s still young, and he’s also afraid of losing control and hurting her.

He got up, lit a fire to make porridge. Soon he’ll see what’s good and bring some back for her.

When the porridge was ready, Wei Kaiyun still woke Jiang Xinyu, ”Wife, get up for a meal.”

Jiang Xinyu sat up in a daze, at the table looking at the red pickles without appetite, though she couldn’t take out anything delicious now.

”I want sweet porridge, do you want some?”

”Okay, I didn’t find brown sugar earlier. You should eat more brown sugar to replenish energy and blood.”

After eating, Wei Kaiyun washed dishes and cleaned the main room.

”Wife, I’m going out to see if there’s anything good. Do you want to come with me?”

Jiang Xinyu shook her head, ”I’m not going. I’m still tired now, I want to sleep.

By the way, weren’t you leaving today?”

”I’ll drive myself tomorrow morning. You’re not going with me. When I leave, give me the key, I’ll lock the door, so I don’t wake you when I come back.”

Wei Kaiyun’s bicycle is also at home, he rode away.

He went around and didn’t find anything good. Well, now, who would bring out food if they have any? Although he found there are wheats here, at three yuan a jin, which is a sky-high price.

”Old Jiang, got anything good?”

”Got eggs, want some?”

”Sure, how many?”

”Fifty.”

”Give me all of them.”

”A dime each.”

”No problem.”

Wei Kaiyun returned with fifty eggs, found Jiang Xinyu sleeping soundly, freshened up, got onto the Kang and cuddled Jiang Xinyu to sleep. The window was open, yet there were mosquitoes, no choice but to close the door, and tomorrow remind her to buy mosquito incense.

Jiang Xinyu opened her eyes, the outside was just getting bright, she looked at Wei Kaiyun’s bare upper body and smiled.

She quietly got up without waking him, went down to make breakfast.

Pancakes would be good, he could take two for the road.

Wei Kaiyun woke up from the smell. He didn’t get up immediately, lay there with eyes open on the Kang, this must be what having a wife and a home feels like? Waking up with someone having breakfast ready for you.

He lazed for a while before getting up, hugged the girl bending over to flip pancakes from behind.

”You go freshen up, it’s time to eat.”

Wei Kaiyun laughed, went out, saw bean plants and cucumber plants sprawling in the vegetable plot, went to the woodshed, found branches to prop them up.

Jiang Xinyu saw he hadn’t returned, went out to see him tidying the vegetable garden, quite well-done.

Finally, Wei Kaiyun fetched a few buckets of water, watered the garden, weeded wild grass in the plot.

”Okay, I’ll manage it myself, you quickly freshen up and eat.”

After eating, Jiang Xinyu packed two pancakes in the lunchbox for him, but didn’t cover them. ”Today, you eat pancakes. Don’t rush on the road, take breaks. No need to hurry.”

Wei Kaiyun was reluctant to leave, but it was already late, almost eight o’clock, he really needed to go.

Jiang Xinyu still didn’t go to work today, though it’s a busy time, she couldn’t sit idle if she went, mainly because she felt she hadn’t rested enough.

She spent the day at home finishing the clothes she cut yesterday, tomorrow she can wear short sleeves.

In the evening, when the sun wasn’t strong, she watered vegetables and corn in the yard, weeded.

The peanuts and corn in the family’s rural home grew well, probably because the Wang Family frequently went to water them, right?

Lying on the Kang at night, wondering where Wei Kaiyun is now? Driving is really tiring. Now as long as she thinks of the car, she feels bumpy, really had enough sitting.
