Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

This sword strike had no accompanying dazzling brilliance nor thunderous fanfare, but only pure sword intent that surged forth from every direction.

The sword intent enveloped every inch of space, leaving not even a sliver untouched.

There was no path to escape.

And despite the vast area of effect, the sword intent remained terrifyingly condensed that even the Void Sage of the Primeval Daemon Race felt true danger.

He had never imagined that Lu Yuan still held such a trump card hidden. He had evaded the Heaven-Flipping Seal, but there was no way he could avoid this sword strike.

After all, Lu Yuan’s strength was currently amplified by twenty-eightfold.

He was already formidable before the manifestation of the grotto-heavens, and now, his power had been further bolstered. Moreover, the technique, Heaven-Earth Sword, was the pinnacle divine art of Ancient Mount Shu.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

In the end, the Primeval Daemon Void Sage was surrounded by the storm of sword intent. Having no path of retreat, he could only draw back his power and change from offensive to defensive.

Swish!

Yet in the very next breath, the storm of sword intent overpowered his defense, shredding the black mist that clung to him. Flesh blood streamed down from Chong Ye’s form; he looked utterly wretched. Even so, he endured the attack. A Sage was still a Sage after all, even if he was suppressed by Earth’s protective runes.

However, this was well within Lu Yuan’s anticipation.

With the Great Luo Sword Embryo in his grip, he took another step forward. Since he had managed to strike once, there was no way he would retreat.

Victory required unrelenting momentum. And as the old saying goes, ”Strike while the iron is hot. Take the enemy’s life while they’re bleeding.”

Even though weathering through Lei You’s divine art had caused Lu Yuan to take some slight damage, Lu Yuan knew in his heart that this was the critical moment that would decide it all.

There will be no retreat.

Sages were indeed powerful. Even though they were suppressed by the runes of Earth, their might remained terrifying.

These were his strongest opponents till date, and Lu Yuan was fighting with everything he had got. He would not give up on any chance that allowed him to claim victory.

He took one step forward and crossed the gap, appearing before Chong Ye in a flash.

Chong Ye reeled in shock. He had taken significant damage from the sword strike moments earlier and had yet to fully recover his footing when Lu Yuan closed the gap.

”Lei You, help!” Chong Ye called out. He knew he was just inches away from meeting Death himself. He could only request assistance for survival.

But clearly, Lu Yuan was never going to give him that chance.

With a mere thought, the Heaven-Flipping Seal reemerged. It expanded in a breath to about three hundred meters wide. Radiating an incomparably ancient and weighty aura, it resembled a towering mountain capable of suppressing the very heavens with a single strike.

Under Lu Yuan’s control, the seal descended and collided with Chong Ye.

A Sage’s soul and physique would definitely be of a certain awe-inspiring level. But this was the Heaven-Flipping Seal, a treasure left behind by the Immortal Gunag Chengzi himself. Even a Void Sage stood no chance against it.

Sure enough, in the very next moment, Chong Ye’s body burst apart upon impact with the seal. His demise mirrored that of the Three-Headed Ghost Void Sage.

Two Sages had fallen.

It all happened too fast, so fast that even Awakened watching the battle through livestreams could hardly process the series of events in time.

An epic fight of this level was way beyond everyone’s imagination.

Amidst the silence, Lu Yuan slowly turned and locked his gaze onto Lei You.

”You’re next.”

There was nothing more to say. In a flash of golden light, Lu Yuan surged forward with the Great Luo Sword Embryo tightly in his grip.

To others, the Heaven-Flipping Seal appeared unimaginably heavy. But in Lu Yuan’s grasp, it was light as a feather. With just a single hand, he held a corner of it and dragged it through the air as if it weighed nothing at all.

Lei You’s expression darkened, his fists clenched tight with tension. Without the support of the two fallen Void Sages, the odds were against him. Yet if he dared unleash the full might of a Lesser Sage, the protective runes of this world would strike him down with divine judgement.

He had been cornered into a deadlock.

”I refuse to believe that at a mere Venerable King Realm, you can really slay a Sage!” Lei You roared.

Lightning burst from his form, and thunder roared. In that instant, he was like the incarnation of a true thunder god.

Battle erupted once more, and this time, fiercer than ever.

With the Great Luo Sword Embryo in his possession, Lu Yuan’s offensive power had improved significantly. His strength was also amplified by twenty-eightfold. And without the interference of the other two Void Sages, he could go all out and focus on one single opponent.

Most importantly, he could use the Heaven-Flipping Seal at any point in time. The seal was truly a weapon of mass destruction. A single strike meant death or crippling injury, It also made him all the more aware of the true weight carried by the words ”Immortal Treasure”.

As for Lei You, he was plagued with mounting fear and hesitation that resulted in him steadily losing ground.

Meanwhile, several Awakened and high-level officials had finally reached the outskirts of the latest battlefield. The moment their eyes caught sight of the scene in the skies above, they were stunned into silence.

Lightning ran rampant. Golden vital qi surged like tidal waves. Sword light rippled through the air. The Great Sun’s Furnace exuded a terrifying might.

Amidst the epic backdrop, two silhouettes clashed again and again. Entire mountains and rivers were shattered to dust. The landscape itself was being rewritten.

It was a battle that literally shook the heavens and quaked the earth, a battle that defied all understanding.

Above, the fight continued.

Lu Yuan had all along harbored an attitude of invincibility. Even when facing a Sage, he showed not a shred of fear nor a trace of thought to retreat.

With every technique unleashed, every punch thrown, his momentum only grew stronger.

In stark contrast, Lei You kept falling back. Worse still, his foothold was crumbling under the weight of stacking variables.

In a fight between Awakened, if strength was roughly comparable, the decisive factor would then be willpower.

And now, as the battle progressed, Lu Yuan was only getting stronger. After all, he had assimilated countless divine artifacts. His foundation ran deep and his stamina seemed bottomless. Each strike struck like the weight of a colossal mountain, capable of shaking the heavens.

Boom!

Lu Yuan landed another punch.

Lei You was sent staggering back, his form trembling. Even the arcs of lightning crackling around him began to dim.

Frustration gnawed at him. His race had been born with the innate ability to command lightning and thunder. This ought to be a tremendous advantage for him. Yet, this man before him had cultivated some sort of thunder technique and rendered his divine art nearly useless.

If the battle dragged on, Lei You was certain that he would die.

”Even if I die, I’ll drag you down with me!” Lei You roared in fury. His anger consumed every shred of hesitation.

With a thunderous roar, he unleashed the full power of his Lesser Sage foundation in him. His aura surged outward like a storm. Though he stood in midair, the pressure radiating from him shook even the rivers and mountains below.

A Sage’s full power was capable of warping heaven and earth.

Yet, in the face of such might, Lu Yuan did not retreat. Instead, he advanced.

This is it.

This was the true moment of victory or death. He activated both the Great Luo Sword Embryo and the Heaven-Flipping Seal. Mustering every ounce of power within him, Lu Yuan charged forward.

Boom!

They clashed once more.

As though a nuclear bomb had been detonated, the skies trembled. All sound vanished and a blinding, endless light devoured the space. The earth below cracked and split under the force. Valleys formed where none had been before, and the very topography of the land changed.

Just then, sensing the appearance of forbidden power, protective runes manifested into existence before gathering into a colossal mountain that descended to suppress the battlefield.

This was the might of the Separation of Heaven and Earth. Lei You’s display of Lesser Sage power was forbidden on Earth, and the caster would face divine judgement.

Despite the oppressive brilliance and the terrifyingly suffocating pressure, all eyes turned to the sky.

They knew that this was the decisive moment of the battle. This moment would determine everything.

Who would emerge victorious?

Who would survive?

It would be decided now.

As the seconds ticked by, the light began to fade, and Lu Yuan’s figure emerged.

Opposite him, Lei You was drenched in blood. He had been suppressed by the runes protecting Earth and could not channel his full strength.

As such, with the debuff placed on him by the Separation of Heaven and Earth, he could not withstand Lu Yuan’s double-technique offensive.

His figure fell from the sky, and his life force swiftly faded away.

The Lesser Sage of the Celestial Race had also fallen.

Alone, Lu Yuan stood tall and unyielding in midair. The Heaven-Flipping Seal hovered silently behind him, while the Great Luo Sword Embryo rested firmly in his grip.
