Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Chapter 234. By Imperial Will, Inscribing the True Name Upon the Investiture Edict

Lu Yuan had encountered the Nine-Colored Altar in several crucial locations. It was hard for him not to think deeper about it. He knew there had to be extraordinary significance hidden within it.

Under such circumstances, it was natural for him to clarify further with Jiang Ningxian. As a member with a notable standing within the Jiang Clan, she would certainly know many secrets. He hoped to get relevant intel from her to compare with the fragments of information he had already gathered.

Perhaps he would then be able to uncover some ultimate secret after piecing together everything.

Beside him, Jiang Ningxian fell into brief contemplation upon hearing the question. Eventually, she shook her head and said, ”Actually, our clan records didn’t mention much about the Nine-Colored Altar. We only know that it was meant for war. As for whom the war was against, it remained a question.

”Our ancestors speculated that all the answers might only be found after returning to this world.”

In fact, she herself had come to Earth with many questions. Back then, their forefathers had left the Milky Way Starfield and traversed many starfields in the name of conquest.

Yet after so many years, the so-called conquest had never really happened.

In the end, she had returned to the starfield of her origin with the goal of uncovering the secret behind it all.

”I see...”

Lu Yuan felt a trace of disappointment. He had hoped to obtain more information, but that was all there was to Jiang Ningxian’s knowledge.

However, he was still clouded by many questions.

If that was the case, why didn’t Shennong pass down clearer records of what happened?

Or did someone deliberately erase everything?

Lu Yuan did not dwell further. He raised his head and looked ahead.

For now, the most important matter was leaving the Kunlun Secret Realm.

Because of their cultivation realm, the distance amounted to nothing. It didn’t take the group long before they stepped out of the secret realm.

The outside world remained the same as before. The basin was crowded with many Awakened. Some had entered the secret realm and exited, and some had not.

When the Awakened of Earth saw Lu Yuan and his group emerge from the secret realm, they approached the party without hesitation.

Contrary to their affection, the Outer Cosmos beings quickly retreated. None of them wished to provoke the ”fiend”.

After some questioning and communication, Lu Yuan realized that more than three months had passed since he first entered the Kunlun Secret Realm.

Time clearly flowed differently within the realm.

But this did not surprise him as he had already anticipated the same.

After receiving the Earth’s Awakened warm welcome, Lu Yuan and his group moved to a relatively secluded place within the area.

Lu Yuan then looked toward the Peacock King and the Nine-tailed Fox King, saying, ”Since we’re out, take some time to rest and heal your injuries.”

The two had been wounded in their battle with Zhou Yunqiong. There was no need to rush back to Mount Tai, so it would be better to recover first. Anyway, recuperating would not take too long.

”Alright,” the four beast kings nodded without objection.

As for Jiang Ningxian, she seemed to have noticed Lu Yuan was up to something. She proposed that she would go explore the outskirts of Mount Kunlun.

Lu Yuan only smiled faintly in response. Then, he called the Golden-Winged Great Peng aside.

Having acquired the Yongzhou Cauldron, Lu Yuan was not in a hurry to study it.

However, he had finally gathered three pieces of the Celestial Emperor’s Ancient Token. Now that some changes had happened, he could finally use it.

Naturally, it was time to attempt using it.

To avoid any disturbances, Lu Yuan and his mount flew a hundred li away and arrived in a secluded valley.

Roaming beasts were few, and human traces were rare. No one would disturb them.

”Master,” the Golden-Winged Great Peng called out immediately after landing. It knew that Lu Yuan must have an important reason for bringing it here alone.

”You have followed me for quite some time,” Lu Yuan said with his hands behind his back. He gazed into the distance with a calm expression on his countenance.

”I once said that becoming my mount would be a fortuitous fate for you. Today, I will give you two choices. A providence, or freedom.”

The Investiture Edict within the Celestial Emperor’s Ancient Token could invest immortals and deities.

Those whose true name was inscribed upon it would gain immeasurable benefit. And Lu Yuan had already confirmed this within the Kunlun Secret Realm.

Now, he just needed to trial it on another being.

Among everyone around him, be it the three beast kings or Jiang Ningxian and the others, they were all trustworthy.

But in comparison, the Golden-Winged Great Peng was the best candidate because they were bound by a Blood Contract.

At the same time, Lu Yuan felt that the Golden-Winged Great Peng’s strength still fell slightly short. It wasn’t that it lacked potential, but rather, it didn’t have enough time to grow even stronger.

Now that the Great Age had descended, the changes in this world would only intensify. Soon, powerhouses from countless starfields would arrive.

Lu Yuan could no longer afford to advance at a leisurely pace.

”I will follow Master’s will.”

The Golden-Winged Great Peng lowered its head slightly. To it, Lu Yuan’s command was absolute.

”I understand what you mean,” Lu Yuan said calmly. ”However, you need to think through your decision.”

Although they were already bound by the Blood Contract, certain matters had to be out of their voluntary will. That was why he had offered two options. Whatever decision the great peng made, he would respect it.

”Master, to be able to follow you is already my honor. Without you, I would never have reached where I am today.

”Please grant me this providence, Master,” the Golden-Winged Great Peng answered without hesitation, its voice laced with absolute sincerity.

This was the truest thought in its mind.

Leaving aside Lu Yuan’s overwhelming strength, the benefits it had received simply by becoming his mount were already astonishing.

It knew that without Lu Yuan, it could never have purified its bloodline so quickly.

While freedom would indeed be nice, it would mean losing the chance to continue evolving and climbing toward higher realms.

”Alright.” Lu Yuan nodded. He had understood the great peng’s resolve.

He then seated himself cross-legged. From the moment the Investiture Edict appeared, he had already learned how to use it.

One only needed to inscribe the individual’s true name upon it.

Lu Yuan calmed his mind; using his Innate Spirit, he connected with the Investiture Edict and the Celestial Emperor’s Ancient Token.

Boom!

The next instant, an indescribably profound sensation descended upon him. He felt as though he had become the Celestial Emperor of the Nine Heavens.

The Investiture Edict manifested before him. Beside the name ”Emperor Yuan,” there was still much empty space for him to write more names.

So...this is what it feels like to invest immortals and deities?

Lu Yuan pondered for a brief moment before slowly opening his eyes.

An aura unlike anything before erupted from within him. This unique power felt as though it transcended everything.

The Golden-Winged Great Peng standing before him began trembling uncontrollably. It then prostrated on the ground, its golden feathers having lost their luster.

It could not understand why its master suddenly emitted such terrifying power.

Don’t even talk about resistance; even raising its head to look at him was impossible.

The aura was too powerful, like a suppression that came from the depths of the soul.

”Produce a drop of your blood essence,” Lu Yuan instructed calmly.

He was not surprised by the Golden-Winged Great Peng’s reaction. He knew the power came from the Celestial Emperor’s Ancient Token.

And what did that token represent?

The Human Sovereign Celestial Emperor. The ultimate supreme being across the heavens and countless universes.

Even if he manifested only the faintest trace of that authority, ordinary beings could not endure it.

”Yes, Master!” The Golden-Winged Great Peng answered immediately and forced out a drop of blood essence from its body.

Lu Yuan guided that drop of blood into his sea of consciousness.

Then, with his Innate Spirit as the medium, he wrote upon the Investiture Edict with the blood essence.

At the same time, he muttered softly, ”I, Lu Yuan, by the will of the Emperor, hereby invest the Golden-Winged Great Peng as the mount of the Emperor.

”I inscribe its true name on this edict and proclaim it to the universe!”
