Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Chapter 242. The Beast Kings’ Visit, Total Submission, Shared Master!

Dozens of figures stood in the courtyard.

The Golden-Winged Great Peng was at the front. The Peacock King, the Spirit Monkey, and the Nine-tailed Fox King stood next to the great peng. Meanwhile, several more individuals, both men and women, stood behind them.

They all radiated dense, heavy, and savage auras. They were all mutated beasts in human form, and the majority of them were at the Venerable King Realm.

Naturally, every one of them had a remarkable bloodline. Even against beings from the Outer Cosmos, they would still remain formidable.

Together, they represented a terrifying force, but they stood before Lu Yuan with faces carrying a mixture of hope and longing.

Lu Yuan took one look at them and raised an eyebrow, turning to the Golden-Winged Great Peng. ”You told them everything?”

He knew what happened the moment he saw the beast kings arrive before him one after another. They had to have noticed the changes in the Golden-Winged Great Peng and concluded that Lu Yuan could enhance their bloodline.

After all, ever since its true name was inscribed on the Investiture Edict, the Golden-Winged Great Peng no longer needed to hunt creatures with dragon blood. Its bloodline was purifying on its own, and it was growing almost daily.

Soon, it would make a breakthrough into the Venerable King Realm.

The Peacock King and the others knew the Golden-Winged Great Peng well enough to detect the changes, and they pressed it for answers.

Lu Yuan hadn’t instructed the Golden-Winged Great Peng to keep the Investiture Edict a secret, so the truth was bound to come out.

Sure enough, the Golden-Winged Great Peng lowered its head in confirmation. It had indeed shared the details of the Investiture Edict with them.

”King Lu, we know you have your reservations, but please hear us out. Every beast king here has already joined the Celestial Court. We are, for all intents and purposes, your subordinates.”

Then, the Peacock King stepped forward and bowed slightly. ”We ask that King Lu grant us the chance to go even further beyond the path of evolution!”

The Peacock King had seen the Golden-Winged Great Peng’s transformation with its own eyes. The Golden-Winged Great Peng’s strength improved day after day, and it was only a matter of time before it became stronger than the Peacock King.

The speed at which it grew stronger shook the beast kings to the core.

It was just too fast. Upon learning of the truth, they mulled it over and concluded that they had to have their names written on the Investiture Edict. Yes, it meant being bound to someone else, but if it meant becoming stronger, then so be it.

Formidable, transcendent beings were descending; every living creature wanted to reach the peak of the path of evolution. Despite this world’s extraordinary conditions conducive to evolution, however, they knew that they would inevitably hit a ceiling on their path to evolution.

If they wanted to break through that ceiling, they needed a great boon or a fortuitous encounter. Some of them could already feel that ”ceiling.” A few even doubted whether they could reach the Sage Realm.

One day, a chance to keep growing and evolving appeared right in front of them, so how could they let it slip away?

Hence, they all decided to come here.

Lu Yuan knew exactly what the beast kings were thinking. ”I understand.”

He had been considering writing more names on the Investiture Edict, as strengthening the Celestial Court’s fighting force was only going to be beneficial for him. His sole concern had been whether the Peacock King and the others would agree, but it seemed that worry had been unnecessary.

Regardless of the facts before him, he still said, ”All of you need to think this through. Once it’s done, there’s no going back. From that point forward, you will spend the rest of your lives beneath me.”

The hard truth had to be laid out in advance. Leaving it unspoken would only create problems down the line.

”We’ve already made our decision. We ask you to proceed, King Lu!” the Peacock King exclaimed, voicing out its stance.

”We ask you to proceed, King Lu!” The beast kings behind him exclaimed in unison, echoing the same resolve.

Lu Yuan’s formidable strength had long become clear to them. Serving beneath him was no humiliation. On the contrary, once King Lu reached his full potential, they’d reap even greater rewards.

Hence, they all decided to totally submit and acknowledge Lu Yuan as their shared master.

”Good. Then, let’s go to Mount Tai.” Lu Yuan nodded. There was nothing left to hesitate over. He chose Mount Tai, as the writing process required his full concentration.

Lu Yuan led the beast kings away without delay.

In a different courtyard, Jiang Ningxian watched them leave while lost in her own thoughts. She had noticed the changes in the Golden-Winged Great Peng, but she hadn’t asked any questions. Now, it became clear to her that Lu Yuan’s secrets ran far deeper than she had imagined.

”Lu Yuan must have obtained the Celestial Emperor’s Ancient Token. And perhaps more than just one.” Jiang Ningxian murmured to herself, and her gaze settled on his distant figure. A faint smile curved her lips as she added, ”Perhaps he really is one of the Children of the Great Age.”

For some reason, she felt no anger at being kept in the dark. Instead, a different emotion stirred inside her.

Just then, Uncle Jiang walked up to Jiang Ningxian and respectfully said, ”Saintess, we’ve established contact with the clan. The Holy Master wishes to speak with you personally.”

The Jiang Clan had already set out. Before long, they would descend on this world as well. They had to be prepared for their descent, and there was also the matter concerning those Immortals.

The Jiang Clan’s top echelons took both matters extremely seriously, as if they were left unchecked, the consequences would be catastrophic.

”Understood. I’m going now.” Jiang Ningxian nodded and returned to her quarters.

Soon, Lu Yuan would get ready to reach the moon and use the Separation of Heaven and Earth against those Immortals to prevent their full-on descent. She had promised to help him, and she intended to keep that promise.

Meanwhile, Lu Yuan reached the Jade Emperor Peak along with the beast kings, and he immediately drew upon the Celestial Emperor’s Ancient Token’s power.

One by one, he wrote the true names of every beast king present on the Investiture Edict for a total of twelve names. As he did, he observed each of them closely, wanting to see what changes would happen to them.

The changes came swiftly. The Peacock King and the rest were all imbued with that intangible Providence. Some made a breakthrough on the spot, others experienced a sublimation of their bloodlines, while others comprehended a great divine art in a single flash of insight.

Every change was different, but they were all beneficial.

Providence was a special power of heaven and earth. In simpler terms, receiving Providence meant being favored by the Great Dao. It was difficult to explain, but those with Providence’s favor would live a life of unimaginable fortune.

How about those capable of controlling Providence? They would become something even more terrifying.

Why were the Celestial Emperors and Human Sovereigns extremely powerful? It was all because they stood above the rules and walked alongside the Great Dao itself. They controlled Providence and could bestow it upon any individual.

Lu Yuan was beginning to move in that direction, but for now, he still had to rely on the Celestial Emperor’s Ancient Token. Once he grew strong enough, he would be able to wield that authority on his own.

Lu Yuan felt like he had gained a rough understanding of the Celestial Emperor’s Ancient Token and some of its functions.

Once the procedure was done, he turned to the beast kings and told them that everything related to this matter was to remain secret for the time being.

After all, there were powerful beings among the clans from the Outer Cosmos who would definitely want to obtain the Celestial Emperor’s Ancient Token and the power it represented.

If word spread, it meant endless trouble and could even be the spark for a catastrophe. At the very least, no outsider could learn about any of this until Lu Yuan was strong enough to do certain things.

The beast kings had no objections. Since they had totally submitted to Lu Yuan, they would follow any of his orders.

Now that he was done here, Lu Yuan knew what came next. It was time to deal with those beings outside Earth. More specifically, it was time for him to deal with those Immortals!
