Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Many legends were born on Mount Kunlun. In fact, some ancient texts claimed it didn’t even exist on Earth at all, but rather on the moon itself.

Other tales spoke of it as the bridge connecting the mortal realm to the immortal realm. In ancient times, it was also called the ”Land of the Gods.”

In short, Mount Kunlun was a legendary place.

It captivated Earth’s Awakened and commanded the respect of beings from the Outer Cosmos.

Lu Yuan and the beast kings finally arrived at Mount Kunlun. Compared to before the Global Awakening, Mount Kunlun had changed drastically. Its towering peaks pierced the heavens while radiant lights blanketed the sky across it. Wisps of mysterious energy could even be seen flowing across the landscape.

Mount Kunlun could no longer be observed from above. Even from outer space, one couldn’t see it in its entirety. The reason was simple; Mount Kunlun was not a single mountain but a mountain range home to tens of thousands of colossal mountains.

The picturesque scene before them remained rare even after the Global Awakening. Nearly ninety-nine percent of the region lay shrouded by a vast sea of clouds. Lu Yuan stood on the Golden-Winged Great Peng and opened his Martial Dao Heavenly Eyes.

He attempted to pierce through the veil, but the mysterious energy was far too powerful for him to penetrate, blocking his vision. He turned to Jiang Ningxian beside him, who had also been observing Mount Kunlun.

”Can you make anything out?”

”No.” The young woman shook her head with a hint of disappointment across her face. ”That energy is too profound. I’m not strong enough to deal with it.”

She hoped to glean something from the outside before venturing in, but she failed. She had even employed the Jiang Clan’s secret arts. However, they proved utterly useless here.

The pioneers of the Milky Way Starfield had come from this world, and it was indeed an extraordinary world. Jiang Ningxian hadn’t expected it to contain so many secrets.

If they truly wanted to uncover Mount Kunlun’s secrets, then they had to enter it themselves.

”All right, let’s go. Many others are already here,” Lu Yuan said and quietly patted the Golden-Winged Great Peng’s back. In response, the Golden-Winged Great Peng beat its wings and transformed into a streak of light that shot forward.

The Peacock King followed close behind it.

The two mutated beasts emanated formidable auras as they made their way toward their destination. Mount Kunlun was immense, and circling its perimeter would take an enormous amount of time.

Fortunately, Elder Ji and the others had already provided the information they needed, telling Lu Yuan where the most dramatic changes were occurring, as the entrance was most likely at that place.

The officials had long speculated that the true transformation of Mount Kunlun lay not on its surface but within. Of course, this was hardly a well-kept secret, as many powerful forces and Awakened were already aware of it.

A vast basin in the northern reaches of Mount Kunlun became the gathering point of over ten thousand beings. Humans, mutated beasts, and experts from many starfield clans and races had come here.

An enormous mountain face stood before the crowd, but what stood out the most were the two pillars made of white jade just in front of the mountain. The pillars were massive and flawless, seemingly the most perfect creations in existence.

They towered over the nearby mountains, as they each stood ten thousand meters tall. Together with the mountain face, they formed what appeared to be a massive gate.

If one looked closely at the space between the pillars, faint characters formed by the radiant light could be seen, and those characters formed the words ”Heaven Gate.”

At the sight, everyone came to the same conclusion. To uncover Mount Kunlun’s true secrets, one had to walk through that colossal gate.

There were other boons and opportunities across Mount Kunlun, but none could compare to what lay beyond the gate.

Some speculated that a Mythical Secret Realm lay beyond the gate, something similar to the one at Kongtong Mountains. Every gaze burned with excitement and anticipation.

Meanwhile, a few beings from the Outer Cosmos hovered in the sky above with cold and aloof faces. Their auras were formidable. Every single one of them had reached the Venerable King Realm. Among them were members of the Primeval Daemon Race and the Three-Headed Ghost Race.

Others belonged to lesser-known races and clans, but they were all more powerful than Earth’s Awakened. Even so, none of these powerful beings showed any intention of oppressing Earth’s Awakened. Instead, they kept their distance and stayed as far away from them as possible.

Why? Well, each and every single one of them had heard of a certain ”fiend.” If he were provoked, the consequences wouldn’t be a joke. Even Sages had fallen at his hands.

Moreover, the orders they had received were simple—obtain whatever legacies and opportunities Mount Kunlun had to offer, and refrain from stirring up trouble.

At the same time, Earth’s Awakened and mutated beasts exercised restraint as well. They made no moves against the beings from the Outer Cosmos.

They all knew that the current peace rested on a single pillar of foundation—Lu Yuan, the man known as Invincible Beneath the Stars. No one could guarantee what would happen if a true conflict between both sides were to erupt.

For now, the only thing on everyone’s mind was what lay within Mount Kunlun.

Just then, a sharp cry pierced the air, and several powerful auras swept across the region.

”That’s King Lu. Those three beast kings and the Golden-Winged Great Peng are with him.”

”Of course, he’d be here. There’s no way King Lu won’t know anything about an anomaly on this scale.”

”Now that King Lu is here, the greatest providence here has to belong to him.”

The eyes of Earth’s Awakened lit up with excitement at the sight of Lu Yuan.

While it was true that they had all come here to seek providences and opportunities for themselves, they weren’t greedy enough to cast eyes on what ought to belong to Lu Yuan.

In fact, they’d be happy with having any share at all.

As for Lu Yuan, his contributions to Huaxia—no, to the entire planet were beyond measure. If there were opportunities to be had, so what if he would end up claiming the greatest one?

”It’s the human race’s Lu Yuan!”

”That fiend is here again.”

”Avoid him like the plague. Don’t ever provoke him.”

In stark contrast, the reactions of the beings from the Outer Cosmos were very different compared to the reactions of Earth’s Awakened.

The moment they saw Lu Yuan, they trembled and instinctively retreated.

The Primeval Daemons and the Three-Headed Ghosts glared at him with undisguised hatred. They longed to avenge their fallen Void Sage, but they dared not do anything.

Lu Yuan was a ”fiend,” after all.

Just like that, every single being from the Outer Cosmos avoided Lu Yuan like the plague, clearing a path for him. The sight filled Earth’s Awakened with pride.

Back when they first learned of the invaders’ arrival, they were terrified, afraid that those invaders would subjugate and enslave them.

However, who could have predicted that King Lu would defeat one powerful invader after another all by himself at that? Even those so-called Rankers had proven to be no match for him. He even slew three Sages.

Now, he had become the bane of all beings from the Outer Cosmos. Wherever he went, every creature from the Outer Cosmos would give him a wide berth.

Lu Yuan was the idol of Earth’s Awakened. How could he not be when he was invincible?

As for Lu Yuan himself, he noticed the various movements down below as he stood on the back of the Golden-Winged Great Peng, but he paid it no mind. His gaze remained fixed on the two colossal pillars in the distance, looking lost in thought.

Beside him, Jiang Ningxian stared at those pillars for a while before saying, ”There’s a folded space inside, but it’s highly unstable. It also seems like it’s about to open. We’ve arrived just in time to witness its opening.”
