Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Chapter 248. The End? A Blood Sacrifice, the Seven Planets Glimmer

Among the clans from the Outer Cosmos, quite a few of them still treated Earth as their true homeland, but unfortunately, they remained a minority.

Once the Separation of Heaven and Earth was compromised and a passageway to Earth was made, a myriad of invaders would descend. Everyone wanted their share of the Great Age’s Providence, and their arrival would inevitably turn this planet into a bloody battlefield.

Countless lives would be lost, and the chaos would be unimaginable.

Uncle Jiang knew that as well, but he also knew it was inevitable. However, it could be delayed. As for whether that would happen, it all came down to one question—could Lu Yuan stop the Immortals?

Boom! Boom! Boom!

A series of massive explosions echoed, attracting the attention of every being from the Outer Cosmos, including the twelve Lesser Sages. They all turned toward the moon and saw planets rotating slowly while flickering into existence.

They were massive, and the projected silhouettes of the Immortals shrouded in a dazzling light loomed over them. An old, aged aura seeped out of those Immortals, making it seem as if they had existed since time immemorial.

As the Immortals exerted their power, waves of formidable energy relentlessly flew toward Earth. In response, a myriad of runes manifested and engulfed Earth to protect it.

The Separation of Heaven and Earth was truly formidable, and it was proven by how it was holding back the combined force of dozens of ancestral planets along with their Immortals.

In addition, there were some rumors that a few old monsters had come out of seclusion to lend a hand for this operation, and of course, they were all from the top one hundred starfields.

Despite their combined efforts, however, the Separation of Heaven and Earth remained intact.

”The Milky Way Starfield was indeed worthy of its glory.” The Yin Sparrow Lesser Sage said, sounding solemn. ”Even after all these years, what they had left behind from so many years ago is still intact and protecting their descendants.”

The Milky Way Starfield had undeniably fallen into decline, and the clans from the Outer Cosmos treated it as a backwater civilization at this point. However, no one could deny the brilliance it once possessed.

”True. But too much time has passed since then,” the Three-Headed Ghost Lesser Sage said coldly, ”The Separation of Heaven and Earth can’t withstand these attacks for much longer.”

The other Lesser Sages nodded in agreement. They could all see it plainly. The barrier around Earth was thinning out in real time. The process was slow, but the barrier’s collapse was a given at this point.

Once it collapsed, they could come and go as they pleased.

”That human, Lu Yuan, hasn’t made his move yet,” said one of the Lesser Sages, sounding amused.

”What move could he possibly do here? Against those Immortals, how can he activate the Milky Way Starfield’s contingency plan? And is he even strong enough to activate it?”

”Fair enough. I thought he could walk the talk, but I guess not.”

The Lesser Sages expressed their disdain for Lu Yuan. Their strength allowed them to observe Lu Yuan clearly, and they saw that he was motionless while sitting cross-legged on the moon’s surface.

”Once this is over, he’ll have reached the end of his road.” The Three-Headed Ghost Lesser Sage turned to the Yin Sparrow Lesser Sage, and his voice turned frigid as he asked, ”You won’t interfere again, will you?”

One of the three Sages Lu Yuan had previously slain was someone from his race. The Three-Headed Ghost Lesser Sage had been burning for revenge, but it had never been able to descend to Earth.

Lu Yuan had ventured out of Earth, making him vulnerable to attacks, but the Yin Sparrow Lesser Sage’s attempt to recruit him had made it so that the Three-Headed Ghost Lesser Sage couldn’t attack him.

Just in case, he decided to ask for the Yin Sparrow Lesser Sage’s opinion.

”His talent is impressive, but he’s too young and too reckless,” The Yin Sparrow Lesser Sage replied, making his stance clear. ”We have no interest in figures like him.”

Since Lu Yuan had refused his offer, there was no reason to protect him any longer. It was a shame, but that was it. Every generation had its own prodigies, but only a few of them would survive long enough to reach their full potential.

In the Yin Sparrow Lesser Sage’s mind, Lu Yuan was a genius, but he was doomed by his own arrogance.

”The Celestial Race has also made their stance known,” the Primeval Daemon Lesser Sage added. ”They said that Lu Yuan’s life belongs to them.”

In other words, Lu Yuan could be killed, but they could end up provoking the Celestial Race.

The Three-Headed Ghost Lesser Sage said nothing and simply stared in the distance. Killing him or not didn’t matter right now. At the moment, they couldn’t do anything other than wait for the destruction of the Separation of Heaven and Earth.

Rumble!

The colossal planets trembled violently as overwhelming energy poured out of them. The Immortals’ target was Earth, but the moon was within their range. Seated on the moon’s surface, Lu Yuan could feel the pressure bearing down on him, and it was a force of unimaginable magnitude.

Had it not been for the Separation of Heaven and Earth’s protection, he would have been killed. After all, the gap between them was simply too massive to bridge.

Without a word, he took out the Yongzhou Cauldron. According to Jiang Ningxian, a sacrifice was necessary to commune with the moon and activate the contingency that the sages of antiquity had left behind. As for what had to be sacrificed, Lu Yuan already knew the answer to that.

He produced the small bronze cauldron. This was the key. Using the small cauldron to offer a sacrifice to the Yongzhou Cauldron would trigger the contingency plan.

With an answer in mind, he decisively slashed open his palm. Golden blood dripped onto the small bronze cauldron as Lu Yuan channeled his power into the Yongzhou Cauldron at the same time.

The Yongzhou Cauldron was one of the most sacred ceremonial vessels in all of Huaxia’s history. It possessed extraordinary power as one of the Nine Tripod Cauldrons.

Hum!

A resonant sound echoed from the Yongzhou Cauldron. The sound contained a boundless yet aged might, and it lasted for a long time as if it had come from the very edge of the universe.

It was impossible to discern its origin, yet it felt as if it had always existed.

Just then, the cauldron seemed to come alive, and as the resonant sound continued, Lu Yuan felt like he was witnessing the brilliance of Huaxia. Indeed, it was a divine artifact that had been protecting Huaxia since ancient times.

”Invaders from the Outer Cosmos are here, and the Milky Way Starfield is in imminent danger! I, Lu Yuan, a junior of the human race, offer this sacrifice to humbly beseech the sages of antiquity! Protect our Milky Way once again!”

Lu Yuan’s voice was sincere, filled with respect. The sages of antiquity had forged a brilliant civilization in ancient times and were even protecting the myriad beings of Earth even after their deaths. They truly deserved his respect.

As soon as his words fell, the Yongzhou Cauldron responded as though it had heard him.

Great Virtue. It actually spoke, and its voice filledLu Yuan’s mind. Lu Yuan was bewildered by what it said, and the shock only grew when he looked around and realized that a profound aura had engulfed him.

The stupefaction did not end there, of course, as pillars of golden light erupted across the surface of the moon. They stretched outward for untold distances until they connected with Earth.

The countless runes enveloping Earth shimmered with the same golden color before rearranging themselves into a formation that aligned with the principles of yin and yang.

Moments later, the remaining seven planets of the Solar System glimmered. Before anyone could react, a supreme aura manifested, shaking the very fabric of the universe itself.

The contingency plan involving the Separation of Heaven and Earth was active, and its power converged on Earth. The golden runes seemed like they had a will of their own as they collided head-on with the beam of energy pouring out of the flickering ancestral planets up above!

BOOM!

A cataclysmic explosion shook the universe, and the ancestral planets of the top one hundred starfields dimmed at once.
