Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

”Today, I shall slay you, Sages, myself!”

Lu Yuan maintained a calm expression. His voice was not loud, yet it was overflowing with absolute confidence.

Three Sages were standing before him, but their presence held no sway over him.

As with every enemy he had ever faced, he showed not the slightest trace of fear.

He stood proud amidst the clouds, looking both resolute and unyielding.

”Good, good, good...” Lei You’s gaze turned fierce. At first, he thought Lu Yuan had finally learned how to spell the word ”fear,” yet he was utterly mistaken. The man remained as foolishly arrogant as ever.

In response, power surged from within Lei You. Moments later, the surrounding wind and clouds churned and rippled like water.

”Since you’ve signed your death warrant, we shall grant you death.”

Lu Yuan had thoroughly enraged him. Lei You had only one thought in mind—to kill Lu Yuan at any cost.

Behind him, the Void Sages of the Three-Headed Ghost Race and the Primeval Daemon Race emanated fierce killing intent.

At this point, words were useless. The only thing that mattered was cutting this man down.

Rumble!

Terrifying power emanated from them, and their killing intent was so thick that it seemed tangible. Moments later, a dazzling light flickered in the sky as lightning streaked up above, followed by the terrifying roars of thunder.

Countless onlookers paled at the sight. They knew the Sages had to have been weakened by the mysterious power protecting Earth, but it seemed the Sages remained as terrifying as always.

However, Lu Yuan seemed unaffected by their display. In fact, his will to battle became even fiercer in the face of such a terrifying sight.

Rumble!

There was nothing left to say; they could only duke it out!

The three Sages wasted no more words and stepped forward in unison. They no longer concealed the surging power inside them.

Boom!

Lei You struck first. His wings beat furiously as hundreds of lightning bolts erupted from him, flooding the firmament. At the same time, the Void Sages of the Primeval Daemon Race and the Three-Headed Ghost Race vanished from sight.

The battle had finally begun!

Alarm bells rang in Lu Yuan’s mind as soon as the three Sages made their move, and the disappearance of the two Void Sages made things even more dangerous for him.

Rumble!

Golden vital qi roared forth as a blazing sun manifested behind him. It radiated terrifying heat, and his entire being seemed to transform into a golden sun as he unleashed his power without any reservation whatsoever.

Then, Lu Yuan stepped forward. Facing hundreds of lightning bolts, he made no flashy movements and simply threw a single punch toward them.

Boom!

His golden vital qi transformed into a vast and boundless raging sea of gold. The firmament itself quivered as the sea of gold flooded it.

BOOM!

Before anyone could react, a violent explosion rang out when the sea of gold collided with the lightning bolts. The lightning bolts and the sea of gold intertwined in midair, eliciting noises that made it sound as if the heavens themselves had unleashed their fury upon the world.

The lightning bolts were obliterated, leaving only that sea of golden vital qi. Lei You frowned slightly at the sight. Lu Yuan’s strength had exceeded his expectations, and his single punch made that clear to him.

However, he did not panic and simply stood calmly in place.

Swoosh!

Just then, the other two Void Sages appeared.

The Void Sage of the Three-Headed Ghost Race gripped a halberd engulfed in dazzling light. His killing intent locked onto Lu Yuan as he thrust the halberd toward the crown of Lu Yuan’s skull.

Beside him, the Primeval Daemon Lesser Sage swelled to dozens of meters in height in the blink of an eye. The black fog shrouding him carried a lethal power as it engulfed Lu Yuan.

The two Void Sages had come here to kill, and they held nothing back.

Their power surpassed what any Venerable King could withstand, yet Lu Yuan remained unfazed. His gaze remained calm as he stared at the two Sages. Then, he spread his five fingers wide, unleashing a supreme Daoist divine ability—the Jade Emperor’s Divine Thunder Art!

Crackle!

Immediately afterward, hundreds of lightning bolts erupted from inside Lu Yuan. They rampaged across the skies, just like what Lei You had displayed. However, Lu Yuan’s lightning bolts seemed even more powerful than Lei You’s.

The lightning bolts orbiting Lu Yuan roared at the two Void Sages before flying toward them. However, the two did not halt their attack. Instead, they unleashed another move to annihilate the lightning bolts.

Unfortunately for them, the lightning bolts contained power that was far too overwhelming for them to overcome.

BOOM!

A deafening explosion occurred, and both Void Sages were forced backward as the lightning bolts clung to them like leeches. The lightning bolts were so stubborn that the two Void Sages had to circulate their power throughout their bodies before they could dispel them.

Upon doing that, they cast grim gazes at Lu Yuan.

They assumed that joining forces against just one man would ensure their victory, but they had not anticipated that Lu Yuan’s strength was actually so overwhelming. Despite attacking him together, they couldn’t land even a single hit on him.

The sight left even Lei You in astonishment. The three of them had attacked together, yet they gained not even the slightest advantage.

”Now, it is my turn.” Lu Yuan remained where he stood with his gaze unchanged, and he became even more excited to fight them. The brief exchange allowed him to make a rough deduction of the three Sages’ strength upon their descent.

They were powerful and far stronger than Venerable Kings. Even without their full strength, they remained terrifying. They were Sages, after all. However, he felt no fear whatsoever.

As soon as Lu Yuan’s words fell, he stepped forward, and golden vital qi erupted from him, flooding the sky once more.

This time, he decided to give them not even a quarter and go all out. He released every ounce of his power for the first time since walking on the path of evolution.

Swoosh!

In a flash, Lu Yuan appeared before Lei You and threw a punch.

He was so fast that Lei You had no time to react.

Lei You somehow managed to protect himself, but would his defenses hold? It had to be known that he was facing Lu Yuan at the latter’s absolute peak.

The Great Sun’s Furnace behind Lu Yuan boosted the power of his punch, and a deafening roar ensued as his fist made contact with Lei You.

BOOM!

Lei You was blasted away, and he flew like a shooting star before crashing into a distant mountain. A huge chunk of the mountain shattered on impact, sending clouds of dust and debris into the air.

However, Lu Yuan did not stop moving. He appeared before the other two Void Sages, and the Jade Emperor’s Divine Thunder Art flared to life.

Arcs of lightning manifested around him in an instant, and they coalesced into countless dragons made of lightning. The ”dragons” lunged at the two Void Sages.

The faces of the two Void Sages shifted at the sight, but neither of them retreated.

Their expressions shifted, but neither retreated. They were Sages, after all. And how could they possibly back down before someone who was an entire stage of evolution beneath them?

The Void Sage of the Primeval Daemon Race spread his black fog, shielding himself. The Void Sage of the Three-Headed Ghost Race raised his halberd high, and it undulated with a divine light.

BOOM!

Three distinct powers collided head-on. The clash occurred ten thousand meters up high, but the resulting shockwave still cascaded downward like a tempest.

Elder Ji, Zhu Qingyu, and the others trembled violently. Even the mutated beast kings like the Peacock King shuddered at the sight, and fear flickered in their eyes.

The sight told everyone one thing—a Battle of the Ages was underway!
