Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Chapter 223. A Hundred Thousand Celestial Troops, The Third Celestial Emperor’s Ancient Token!

A peculiar aura permeated the city, and as time went on, brilliant rays of light erupted from the city center, illuminating the heavens. What had been a quiet and creepy city now radiated boundless vitality.

In the distance, the palaces emanating faint lights were now shrouded in streaks of pitch-black lightning bolts. All these changes occurred in the span of a few minutes.

”The Netherworld has become the Celestial Court?” Even Jiang Ningxian was stunned; she couldn’t believe it. She had never witnessed anything like this. It was as though the very laws of nature were rewritten, and yin and yang were inverted.

Even the air of the city itself had changed. What kind of being could have created this city? There was no denying it; this city contained great boons for the taking.

”Looks like it.” Lu Yuan remarked, his eyes flickering at the sight. Had he not possessed the Martial Dao Heavenly Eyes, he wouldn’t have seen through what had just transpired.

Originally, he planned to explore the Netherworld part first before venturing to the Celestial Court part. Now, that was no longer possible.

”Let’s go,” Lu Yuan said with a faint smile. He might as well go there, as he was already here. ”Let’s see what lies at the very center of this city. Perhaps we’ll see the legendary Numinous Sky Hall there.”

Regardless, he had to find a goal to pursue here, and he had found just that—the Numinous Sky Hall. He had seen the Numinous Sky Hall before, but it was in the form of a ruin at Mount Tai.

Meanwhile, the Numinous Sky Hall before him was intact.

”Very well. Then, I’ll risk my life to accompany you.” Jiang Ningxian was indeed from a great clan in the Outer Cosmos, as she quickly regained her composure.

Besides, this place fascinated her. The two had spent a considerable amount of time together by now, so they had long built a certain tacit understanding between them.

To ensure they wouldn’t be affected by another inversion of yin and yang, they wasted no time and headed straight for the center of the city.

Along the way, they encountered Earth’s Awakened and beings from the Outer Cosmos. They were in danger, but unlike the Netherworld part, the army here was not composed of Yin soldiers.

Instead, they were composed of celestial troops. Each of them was clad in either golden or silver armor, and they radiated boundless vitality. Just like the Yin Army, they would revive and become even stronger upon being killed.

In other words, both armies displayed the same pattern.

But whether they were truly the legendary celestial troops of the Celestial Court remained uncertain, and even Lu Yuan could not say for sure.

Before long, the two arrived at the central hall in the middle of the city. The building towered ten thousand meters into the sky.

The fact that this space managed to house such a colossal building made one wonder just how vast this secret realm truly was.

Then again, it made sense. Jiang Ningxian had mentioned that this secret realm was an amalgamation of several spaces.

”The Numinous Sky Hall. Could we truly be in the Celestial Court?” Jiang Ningxian asked. She couldn’t care less about other things, but the Celestial Court of ancient times was different. However, if this was the Numinous Sky Hall, what were the ruins at Jade Emperor Peak on Mount Tai?

Lu Yuan said nothing and decided to walk closer to the hall.

Before the great hall stretched an enormous plaza, and rows of celestial troops clad in golden and silver armor stood across the plaza. Their numbers were staggering, stretching beyond sight, and their expressions were solemn, as though they could march to war at any moment.

Could they be part of the legendary hundred-thousand-strong celestial troops?

More importantly, Lu Yuan discovered that the soldiers contained that same will from before.

”Conceal your aura. Don’t let them detect us,” Lu Yuan muttered.

If they were discovered, a great battle would surely erupt. He did not fear such a fight, but engaging them would only waste time. Who knew when this region would revert to the Netherworld?

”Okay.” Jiang Ningxian nodded. The two had their own methods of concealment, so avoiding the gaze of the celestial troops wasn’t really difficult for them.

Soon, they crossed the plaza and arrived at the base of the great hall. There was no door. They could see directly inside. The interior was vast and open. Every corner radiated pure, immaculate light. Wisps of even mist drifted throughout, making the place appear as if it truly belonged to Immortals.

It was a rare scene, even for Jiang Ningxian, and her eyes sparkled with wonder. Of course, she did not forget the purpose of their visit. This hall stood at the very heart of the so-called Celestial Court. There had to be something significant here.

The Celestial Court... the Numinous Sky Hall. Even Lu Yuan found himself feeling curious. It couldn’t be helped. Those two places were straight out of a myth, after all.

Together, Lu Yuan and Jiang Ningxian stepped inside.

The hall was empty, and it was so vast that it seemed endless. Standing within it, one felt infinitesimally small as if one were an ant. At the far end of the hall, the two could faintly make out a dragon throne.

Moreover, it seemed someone was seated on that dragon throne. For some reason, however, neither of them could discern what that figure looked like, as the aura emanating from the figure looked peculiar.

”Could that be... the Celestial Emperor?” Jiang Ningxian muttered unknowingly in disbelief. This place represented the Celestial Court in ancient times, and the only being who could sit on the dragon throne was the Celestial Emperor himself.

However, her words received no response. She turned to find Lu Yuan standing beside her, seemingly lost in thought.

”King Lu, what’s wrong?”

”Nothing. Let us go see what this is about.”

Lu Yuan shook his head and fixed his eyes on the dragon throne. Jiang Ningxian said nothing more, but she knew something was weighing on him.

Of course, she was a woman who understood boundaries, so she didn’t pry and merely nodded in acknowledgment.

However, the truth was that her keen intuition was correct.

The moment Lu Yuan entered the Numinous Sky Hall, he experienced something strange. Deep within his mind, beneath the Bodhi Tree, the dormant Celestial Emperor’s Ancient Token suddenly emanated streams of purple light.

It acted as if it was being moved by some unseen force. It was like it was being called out by its own kind. Yes, there was another Celestial Emperor’s Ancient Token here, and it could very well be on that dragon throne.

The Celestial Emperor’s Ancient Token... To this day, Lu Yuan still had no complete grasp of its functions, yet he knew it was immensely powerful. Even the Jiang Clan considered obtaining it as its top priority.

In his previous life, the Celestial Emperor’s Ancient Token was the reason the beings from the Outer Cosmos had chosen Mount Tai as their first point of descent, and it was also the reason thatadevastating battle took place there.

It was a very important artifact.

Lu Yuan had long suspected that he would need to gather at least three tokens if he wanted to unlock its true power, and today, a third piece seemed to be right before his eyes.
