She is the Side Character! — Watch Her Change her fate!

Chapter 386: Chapter 385: Dying for the Princess Is Your Honor 5

”Chenchen, what are you doing here?” Consort Li’s voice rose, even carrying a hint of severity.

Wasn’t Chenchen taken away by the people from Bei Qi?

Her heart was racing, feeling something wasn’t quite right.

”Did you escape back?” Consort Li hesitated to ask, how could it be possible?

Ah Chen blinked, showing a playful smile, holding Consort Li’s hand, and boastfully said, ”No, Mother Consort, your daughter didn’t go at all. The one who went wasn’t your daughter.”

What?

Consort Li staggered, if it wasn’t Cui Chen who went, then who was it?

She thought of Cui Jing, her biological daughter. But before this, Cui Jing had already been sent out of the palace by Cui Chen, no, it shouldn’t be. Moreover, the two looked different, it was impossible to deceive the Bei Qi envoy, the Bei Qi envoy had seen Cui Chen’s face and was convinced she was the Ninth Princess.

Could it be... Cui Chen found someone who looked just like her? That’s possible.

In any case, this matter must be discussed with Your Majesty. If it’s truly the case, Cui Chen can’t be the Ninth Princess, to avoid being discovered by the Bei Qi side.

”Chenchen, who went in your place?” Consort Li still asked, needing to get to the bottom of it before deciding on a plan.

She never thought this daughter of a mere seventh rank county magistrate could cause such a stir. If anything went wrong, and Bei Qi attacked, what could be done? She didn’t really understand these things, but she was also afraid of Bei Qi’s ferocity.

Ah Chen laughed triumphantly, ”Of course, it was Cui Jing. Aren’t the Cui Family people serving us? Madam Cui said before, treating me slightly less well from childhood, was actually to confuse the traitors, afraid they’d notice something wrong, and when they act, it would definitely target Cui Jing. That Cui Jing is just a shield for me.”

”They are quite loyal indeed.”

”Actually, from the start, it should have been told to Bei Qi that Cui Jing is the Ninth Princess. Then, your daughter wouldn’t have resorted to such a last-ditch measure. Fortunately, before going outside the palace to play, I encountered a master skilled in disguise techniques, Cui Jing and I have similar builds, disguising her as my appearance just fit well. Mother Consort, the Bei Qi envoy didn’t notice at all.”

”The Cui Family people are indeed loyal, specially cultivating a daughter to be my shield, you and Father should really reward them, give them promotions, and confer some titles.”

”For Cui Jing to suffer in my place counts as bringing glory to the ancestors, by then I will propose to the Cui Family to give them a special page in the genealogy.”

Consort Li’s head buzzed, barely able to understand what Ah Chen was saying, her eyes rolled, and she fainted.

”Mother Consort, what’s wrong with you?” Ah Chen cried out anxiously, immediately seeking someone to summon the Imperial Physician.

The Emperor, Song Chong, was about to come over, hearing about it, he rushed over, only to see Ah Chen there, standing frozen on the spot.

”Chenchen, what are you doing here, didn’t you leave with the envoy?” He suppressed the turmoil in his heart, remaining relatively calm, his mind racing, what on earth was happening?

”Father, this is how it is...” Ah Chen recounted the whole story again, each word landing like a hammer on Song Chong’s temple, causing his forehead to throb painfully.

Until he heard that the one replacing Ah Chen was actually Cui Jing, his vision darkened.

”Actually, Father should have directly allowed Cui Jing to replace me back then, there wouldn’t be so many twists and turns.”

”Knowing that you all bound me to go was also begrudgingly done, which I don’t blame you for. I’m fortunate to have met that master skilled in disguise techniques, otherwise, I would really have been separated from you all.”

”Once Cui Jing returns, she must be well rewarded.”

”By the way, Father, Cui Jing has already gone in my place, now there probably can’t be a Ninth Princess in the court, why not let me disguise myself as Cui Jing from now on.”

”Returning to the Cui Family is also an option, even though I really am reluctant. If Father and Mother Consort truly can’t let go, just recognize me as a foster daughter, so I can still serve you.”

After saying everything in one go, Song Chong couldn’t say a word, only feeling a headache.

Jing’er had been sent to Bei Qi, now likely arrived in Bei Qi, the situation was quite dire, what to do? How did things become like this?

Now, he couldn’t do anything about this detestable Cui Chen.

No matter if Bei Qi would discover this matter, the feeling wasn’t good.

If not discovered, Jing’er would truly suffer over there and might never return.

If discovered, Cui Chen would inevitably be sent over, Jing’er would have a chance to return, but the situation wouldn’t be much better, Nan Qi might still be troubled by Bei Qi.

Despite being full of anger, he had to keep this hateful Cui Chen for now, even secretly killing her was not an option, just in case Bei Qi noticed something amiss, Cui Chen would still have to be sent over.

”Chenchen, this matter is too big, now the best outcome is that it’s not discovered by Bei Qi, if they do, you won’t escape. If chaos arises from this, you will be the sinner of Nan Qi.” Song Chong spoke these words, holding back his anger.

Ah Chen responded, ”Then let’s just fight them, being bullied to this extent, why not fight back directly?”

”Things are not as simple as you think,” Song Chong was very angry, unwilling to say much more to her, ”These days, you can’t go anywhere, and don’t pose as the Ninth Princess,” after thinking for a while, he continued, ”Since you know how to disguise, then for now disguise yourself as Cui Jing.”

Jing’er had already been sent over, he had no choice but to see how Bei Qi’s situation unfolded next.

If Jing’er truly suffered something dire, Cui Chen wouldn’t live either, he’d ensure she wished she were dead!

The Cui Family people would never rise again, having caused such harm to his most beloved daughter.

Though he wanted to send her over immediately, Bei Qi’s Emperor might suspect it, so hiding Cui Chen was necessary, if things became exposed, Bei Qi’s Emperor would certainly determine Cui Chen was the Ninth Princess.

Under Song Chong’s pressure, Ah Chen disguised herself as Cui Jing and stayed in a house in Capital City, temporarily without freedom, outsiders saw her as protected, but in reality, she was imprisoned. She wasn’t in a hurry as this was all orchestrated by her.

To Bei Qi, she still intended to go.

Cui Jing unable to speak on the journey was her doing, but after a certain time, the counterpart would be able to speak.

If the counterpart concealed this matter, Bei Qi wouldn’t find out.

If the counterpart didn’t want to conceal it, Bei Qi would surely find out.

Everyone praised Cui Jing for being understanding and exceptionally intelligent, the counterpart should know that at such a time, it’s best to grit her teeth and swallow the secret, that would be best for Nan Qi, right?

Will she conceal this secret?

As long as Cui Jing doesn’t want to tear off the disguise mask, it can’t be torn off.

Half a month later, a letter came from Bei Qi.

The Bei Qi Emperor angrily accused Nan Qi of daring to play him, sending a fake Ninth Princess over, demanding Song Chong obediently send the real Ninth Princess, or else face an attack on Nan Qi.

Song Chong had no choice but to explain that it was all the doing of his mischievous ninth daughter, truly unrelated to the rest of Nan Qi. This matter he had only recently learned of since that ninth daughter had recently been disguised as Cui Jing.

The Bei Qi Emperor actually knew he had hidden people in the Capital City, feeling even more delighted, which proved Song Chong’s most cherished daughter was indeed the Ninth Princess.
