She is the Side Character! — Watch Her Change her fate!

Chapter 356: Chapter 355: Victims Behind the Holographic Reality Show, Part 8

”Just like Li Na, Ice Ability.” She glanced at Rong Man and the others, knowing she was alone and destined for a bad ending, so she conjured several small ice cubes, first giving them to Rong Man, then He Guiyun, Wen Chulin, Chen Xingyang, and Yun Rou, all evenly divided, ”There’s only this much a day, maybe it’ll level up later.”

Before the end of the world, she had already been given a death sentence by the doctor.

Only those who have reached this point want to live more desperately, just being able to live makes them unwilling to die. Now that she has awakened a superpower, maybe she can continue to survive? She needs to find a few teammates.

”What about us?”

”We’re thirsty too.”

”Didn’t they say everyone is equal, with food and water distributed the same? How come only you have it here, and we don’t??”

The others who didn’t get to drink water or receive ice cubes started to make a fuss.

The crowd began to stir, Chen Xingyang was desperately thirsty, and immediately put the ice cube in his mouth, finally feeling a bit better. Despite the prompt continuously ringing in his head, he was so thirsty now that he really couldn’t care about anything else, he just wanted water. He wanted lots and lots of water; how could a small ice cube be enough?

This damn apocalypse, really can’t survive.

He shouldn’t have come out to play; he could have gone anywhere, but he insisted on following Bei Chen to play. Young Master Chen could have any woman he wanted, so why hang himself on Bei Chen’s tree? It’s too late to regret now.

Every guest’s background setting is actually quite similar to their real selves. Chen Xingyang came on the show to pursue the commissioner, and in the show’s setting, it’s the same. This is to avoid detaching too much from their real persona after memory is sealed, which would alert the guests, so their character settings are based on their own backgrounds.

Others are extremely thirsty too, and before anyone could speak, He Guiyun and the others very tacitly put the ice cubes into their mouths, except Wen Chulin.

Only Wen Chulin knew this was a virtual world; although being thirsty was uncomfortable, it wouldn’t actually kill him.

He was holding the small ice cube pondering something, is the program group really so deceitful?

Previously he had instructed a core technician to do a small thing for him, but he didn’t know the specifics. He thought awakening superpowers for NPCs was the group’s way to deceive the guests to create topics.

According to what he thought, if the water ability awakened, it should at least produce a few buckets of water. But in the end, it’s only this tiny amount?

Ice Ability is also really deceitful, the ice cubes it can conjure are only the size of popsicles, simply just... absurd.

And Fire Ability, those marble-sized fireballs, what’s the difference from a lighter’s flame?

Not enough to survive, let alone fight zombies?

Wen Chulin’s expression turned sour. He had heard about some unscrupulous program groups being disgusting before, but didn’t expect to encounter one himself.

Now Bei Chen isn’t here anymore; his plan was doomed from the start, and now he encountered these people, Wen Chulin really wanted to leave, he was running out of patience. But he couldn’t, he had to wait for the program to end.

This program certainly isn’t endless; it has to wait for the guest to win to end.

The set time is a month; after a month, no matter how the guests fare in the apocalyptic survival challenge, the program will end.

But if the guests can win and live peacefully and happily inside, it signifies challenge success, and there will be extra rewards, just surviving also has rewards.

Wen Chulin doesn’t lack these things; now he just wants to leave.

Not knowing where senior sister is, in hindsight, if he had known the uncontrollable nature within the virtual world, he wouldn’t have used this method.

He really wants to have more control, but he can’t; only having one technician’s authority isn’t enough, doing even this much has to be done sneakily, doing too much would draw attention.

The Wen Family has to rely on this technology to make money, which is why such a program is held, to promote it. This virtual world is actually the game space for future players.

Suddenly, Wen Chulin’s hand became empty, and looking down, the small ice cube disappeared. Looking up again, a child stood in front of him, stuffing that ice cube into his mouth, this child was Ling Yao.

Wen Chulin’s eyes flashed with hostility, this little brat dared to snatch something from his hand.

But he quickly remembered this is a virtual world; even if the plan fails, he can’t ruin his image. Since he can’t trap Bei Chen, he doesn’t care about the others, as long as he maintains his image.

Seeing him staring at Ling Yao, Liao Jiaying came up to protect her grandson, guardedly saying to Wen Chulin: ”The child is ignorant, just too thirsty, also seeing you not eating, the ice would melt anyway, and once it drips to the ground, it’s wasteful, Xiao Wen, you don’t mind, right?”

”It’s nothing.” Wen Chulin suppressed his displeasure, showing a smile of tolerance on his face, ”I can understand kids being extremely thirsty.”

Liao Jiaying sighed in relief, smilingly said: ”Ah, you university students have such a good heart, unlike some people who lack the politeness to respect the old and cherish the young. Xiao Wen, later when I have water, I’ll quench your thirst, now I’ll take Ling Yao over there.”

Wen Chulin casually responded, restraining his thirst.

He already understood what kind of personality this old lady has; unless she has endless water, he won’t get it to quench his thirst.

Just endure it like this; although he doesn’t know where senior sister is, there’s always something to do, and within a short time, he had already figured out his persona.

Ever since senior sister left, he’s been listless, not caring much about anything.

When the program ends, he wonders if senior sister would be moved even a little upon seeing this.

The crowd around him continued to make a ruckus, clamoring for water, for allocation, Guiyun and several others were trying to calm them, although to little effect.

Wen Chulin closed his eyes, as if hearing nothing.

Meanwhile, the live broadcast was also discussing, some people were cursing Liao Jiaying, cursing Ling Yao, cursing those rowdy people, but mostly cursing the program group.

[Dog program group!]

[Knew they were up to trouble.]

[Thought their days were finally going to improve, dear me, that water looks like it’s only a cup’s worth.]

[Ice Ability User can only gather a popsicle-sized ice chunk, I’m practically dying of laughter.]

[And that marble-sized fireball, was that brat trying to show off originally? He himself feels embarrassed now.]

[Previously saw guests being united and loving, thought the program was leading them towards a warm and united direction, turns out they still want to showcase human nature’s shift in crises.]

[Even though it’s not as imagined, it’s indeed more thrilling, now just wanting to see how they stir things up.]

[Wen Chulin’s change is quite big, even a child can bully him, is it because Bei Chen turned into a zombie and left, he’s also desperate, doesn’t want to live?]

[Yeah, his lips are even cracked, he didn’t immediately eat the ice cube when he got it like the others, probably really doesn’t want to live.]
