She is the Side Character! — Watch Her Change her fate!

Chapter 34: Chapter 34: The Young Master Is a Woman 34

”Princely Heir, now that everyone is here, what exactly do you want to say?” Uncle Wei An kept a neutral expression, but he was somewhat displeased inside.

He wondered what was so important that required the whole family to gather together.

If it weren’t for the influence of Ning Zhen behind her, he wouldn’t bother to deal with her.

Ning Shi was beautiful; initially, he and the Countess hoped she would make Yuanjia settle down, but she turned out to be useless. Since their marriage, Yuanjia has only occasionally attended to Ning Shi and mostly spent time with Cheng Lingqing.

If she couldn’t keep a person or their heart, shouldn’t she at least bear a child?

This Ning Shi acted like a wooden block, not even attempting to have a child with Yuanjia.

The affair almost became a scandal back then, and he didn’t dare to push too hard, afraid that Yuanjia might do something disgraceful regardless of everything. Additionally, today’s Ning Shi is different from before. When Prince Ning was in charge of the Prince Ning Mansion, the fate of married daughters was decided by their husband’s family.

Now, with Ning Zhen in charge, if they dared mistreat Ning Shi, they’d definitely be bitten hard.

With so many incidents arising, who in the Capital City isn’t aware that while Ning Zhen might seem kind, he becomes ruthless when provoked?

Thinking about this, Uncle Wei An quietly took a breath, restraining his displeasure.

”So, what is it about? Just say it, Ning Shi.” The Countess maintained a kind demeanor. Whatever the case, Ning Shi was always better than Cheng Lingqing. Now, she was only hoping Ning Shi would conceive a child, and then Yuanjia could go wild as he pleased.

Ning Yutong sat in her seat, no longer exhibiting her usual demure demeanor. She even picked up the tea and drank leisurely.

The members of the Earl Mansion frowned, wondering if Ning Shi was feeling audacious just because Ning Zhen had connections with a significant figure?

Many displayed disdain, puzzled as to how the Prince Ning Mansion could raise such a short-sighted girl. However, they acknowledged that Prince Ning was merely a prince of another surname, and except for Ning Zhen, who was granted the title of Princely Heir, his daughters had no titles.

Ning Yutong glanced up, smiling warmly, ”It seems we still need to wait a bit; Ah Chen will be here soon, and only then can we talk.”

Mentioning Ah Chen caused everyone in the Earl Mansion to change color.

What kind of matter could possibly require Ning Zhen to come over?

Remembering what Ning Zhen had done, everyone’s gaze fell upon Zhou Yuanjia, making him feel uneasy under their scrutiny.

He could guarantee that he hadn’t given any medicine to Ning Yutong for a long time.

Since Ning Zhen’s notorious reputation emerged, he didn’t dare to.

Ning Shi’s health had always been fragile, and given his position in the military, he only needed the excuse of training in the camp to avoid her without resorting to drugs.

Zhou Yuanjia just realized that he was afraid of his infamous brother-in-law. Struggling to control his trembling hand, he edged closer to Ning Yutong, ”The Princely Heir is coming, why didn’t you mention this to me? The mansion isn’t prepared at all.”

”It’s just to discuss some matters; no need to overprepare,” Ning Yutong smiled unchangingly, ”Ah Chen is usually very busy.”

Indeed, that person was quite busy.

Even though there were ambiguous connections with the current Emperor, he still spent his days running around, only visiting the Imperial Palace at near sunset.

Zhou Yuanjia was indignant, never imagining that Ning Shi would turn into such a hot potato.

How could he ever compete with someone adjacent to the Emperor?

Unless he was of vital importance to the entire Beixia, yet Beixia was prosperous and strong, and neighboring small countries dared not cause trouble, and the Ximo Dynasty had no conflicts with this region. He had studied military strategies and martial arts but found no place to use them.

Zhou Yuanjia watched Ning Yutong’s expression, seeing she wasn’t angry or upset, he felt somewhat relieved but remained intensely curious about what was happening. The affair with Cheng Lingqing was being hidden by the entire mansion; even if it got exposed, he didn’t think Ning Zhen would deal with him, his brother-in-law, just over that, right?

If Ning Shi knew he fed her infertility drugs, she wouldn’t be so composed.

Despite racking his brains, he couldn’t fathom what Ning Shi wanted to say.

In the midst of the Earl Mansion’s anticipation, Ah Chen finally arrived, albeit late.

She was accompanied by two people, one being her guard Ying Fang, and the other the renowned Divine Doctor Yun Qing, whom everyone in the Capital City knew. After the incident at the Duke An’s Mansion, many had visited Ah Chen, hoping to persuade Yun Qing to provide medical assistance.

Yun Qing had become quite illustrious recently.

Every time she saw those people, she secretly laughed; they had no idea that her master was truly the most capable one.

However, such secrets were best left for her to know.

The members of the Earl Mansion felt a chill seeing Yun Qing and glanced towards Ning Yutong’s spot. They had already consulted doctors to have Ning Yutong’s pulse examined, and hopefully... everything was alright?

Zhou Yuanjia’s face turned pale, his body slightly trembling. Could it be that Ning Zhen had found out something? No, he couldn’t lose his composure before the situation was conclusive. He needed to wait and see.

”Ah Chen.” Ning Yutong stood up, her voice brightened, her demeanor lively.

This was a side the Earl Mansion had never witnessed.

At this moment, no one dared to criticize her; everyone was contemplating why Ah Chen had come over today, feeling anxious.

”Fourth Sister.” Ah Chen approached, greeting the Earl Mansion’s people but did not sit down.

As long as she didn’t sit, no one in the Earl Mansion dared to either.

Noticing their grave expressions as if facing a great enemy, Ah Chen addressed Ning Yutong again, ”Fourth Sister.”

Ning Yutong turned her gaze over the Earl Mansion’s members. Only then did they notice her unusually vibrant outfit today, with even her lips painted a vivid red, very flamboyant. Compared to her usual graceful appearance, she now stood out like a fully blooming rose.

”Alright, with everyone from both sides present, I’ll speak now,” her eyes landed on Zhou Yuanjia’s face, and under the tense gazes of everyone she said, ”I am seeking a divorce from Zhou Yuanjia.”

”I do not agree,” Zhou Yuanjia instinctively replied. Wanting to rid himself of Ning Shi was one thing, but allowing the matter to be initiated by the other party would be embarrassing. He noticed Ah Chen’s indifferent gaze and quickly changed his tone, ”Yutong, why do you suddenly wish to divorce me? Is there a misunderstanding? How about we sit down and discuss this?”

”Forget sitting, talking standing will do,” Ning Yutong was somewhat impatient, ”I want a divorce, can’t you understand? You’re infertile, and you still want to waste my whole life? If your wife couldn’t bear children and there’s no problem with the man, he would surely take concubines to continue the family line. How about you agree I take a male concubine to fulfill my desire for children; in that case, not divorcing is also possible.”

Ning Yutong’s stance was such that if men could, so could she, totally righteous. She left everyone in the Earl Mansion stunned into silence.

Ah Chen pursed her lips in a smile; she knew the Commissioner’s Fourth Sister was something special.

”You... you shameless woman!” Zhou Yuanjia was red with anger. Disliking Ning Yutong was one thing, but Ning Yutong wanting connections with other men was another.

”Ning Shi, is this what a woman from the inner chamber should say?” The Countess clutched her heart, obviously quite agitated.

Uncle Wei An, unable to admonish Ning Yutong, turned his gaze to Ah Chen, his face darkened, ”Is this the family upbringing of Prince Ning Mansion, Princely Heir? Ning Shi’s outrageous words bring disgrace to the entire Prince Ning Mansion, don’t they?”

”Is Uncle Wei An aware that your son cannot bear children?” Ah Chen didn’t reply but questioned instead.

Uncle Wei An was so furious he nearly fainted.
