She is the Side Character! — Watch Her Change her fate!

Chapter 28: Chapter 28: The Young Master Is a Woman 28

In his free time earlier, he had asked Hou Rongfa about Ning Zhen’s preferences.

In fact, Ning Zhen’s preferences were not very obvious. Ever since Prince Ning went mad, the biggest change in Ning Zhen’s taste was transplanting bamboo in the open space outside the courtyard. Among the bamboo grove, there was a pavilion, stone tables, and stone benches; it was a nice place for tea and leisure, but the other party didn’t have much free time for tea.

Mostly, Ning Zhen liked to stand in the courtyard early in the morning and gaze at the bamboo grove, and then pass by it upon coming and going. Passing through the bamboo grove seemed to satisfy him.

Soon, there will be a bamboo grove behind Chenghua Hall too, but for now, they’ll have to make do with two potted landscapes due to short time.

Hou Rongfa tactfully did not follow inside, discreetly nodding to all the palace personnel in the hall to leave, then quietly closed the door and guarded it, as if his eyes could watch every direction, worrying someone would disturb them.

Ah Chen heard someone’s heartbeat, put down the watering can, and turned around.

As she raised her eyes, she crashed into a pair of burning eyes, with a gaze that seemed to devour her whole.

Ye Ji approached step by step, finally in front of the person he had longed for day and night. A few days ago, he was angry, not expecting to get the person he missed tonight. Perhaps it was not as he imagined, mutual consent might be best.

”I am ready.”

”Ning Zhen, what about you?”

Ye Ji had already moved close, the two were so near that merely a bow of the head or a tiptoe lift would complete a rather special contact.

Perhaps feeling the wait for an answer was too long, Ye Ji was a bit impatient. Not impatient with the person in front, but with the anguish of waiting, fearing a change of heart.

He grabbed Ah Chen’s hand, thinking this wasn’t clear enough to express his stance, released her hand, and directly pulled her by the waist into his embrace.

Ah Chen felt the hand resting on her back, raising her eyes: ”Everything is ready, but you still address me by full name, doesn’t it seem a bit distant?”

”You can call me Ah Chen.”

Who could resist that?

Ye Ji held her firmly, lowered his head and whispered in her ear: ”Ah Zhen.”

If he remembered correctly, only Ah Zhen’s sisters would address her thus, Ye Ji’s heart filled with joy. Since everything was ready, there would be no more hesitation, he encircled her with his arms, finally feeling that soft sweetness.

After a long while, he loosened his hold on Ah Chen a bit, the affection in his eyes intensifying.

He didn’t know why he was so deeply attached to her, but liking someone was just that, nothing to hesitate about.

”In non-formal occasions, call me Fu You.”

He also found the address ’Your Majesty’ too formal and distant.

Ah Chen smiled in agreement: ”Alright, Fu You.”

”My name Ah Chen is grass head with a true.”

Ye Ji naturally didn’t know the reason within, but whatever she said was what it was. He repeated, ”Ah Chen.”

”Mhm, right here.” Ah Chen’s brows and eyes curved, her entire being exuding joy from inside out.

Ye Ji felt it.

Ah Chen must have liked him.

If she only loved power and money, she wouldn’t be so joyful.

Of course, even if Ah Chen only liked his power and money it wouldn’t matter. After all, his initial wish was merely for this person to peacefully stay by his side.

”A good night is short, we should go in.” Ah Chen reminded.

The person who just looked fierce now had a somewhat stiff body. She pulled his hand and forcefully led him into the bath.

”Who’s going first today?” She asked leisurely.

Ye Ji, despite his tense body, followed inside. Seeing the tray placed there, Hou Rongfa was indeed considerate, preparing everything.

He gritted his teeth, saying: ”You’re the boss.”

He was beaten by this person.

”Faced with a beloved, none of those matters.” Ah Chen released Ye Ji’s hand, fiddling with items in the tray, casually tossing them back down, not minding; guessing those ointments and pictures might have been thoughtfully prepared by that old eunuch himself, ”As the saying goes, when a boat reaches the bridge, it straightens itself. Some things are better left to nature, maybe a new village awaits beyond the dark willows.”

Ye Ji closed his eyes briefly, enough, since he had chosen her, sooner or later they would face this.

”Can you undress yourself?” Ah Chen asked.

Ye Ji laughed angrily: ”Do you think I’m crippled?” With that, he undid his belt.

Ah Chen glanced, indeed a person diligent in exercise.

Seeing Ye Ji still a bit uncomfortable, she reached up to remove her hairpin, letting her dark hair fall.

The eyes that had initially wandered elsewhere, unsettled, couldn’t help but look over.

Ah Chen bent down, cupping water to wash her face; upon lifting her head again, the face that appeared more youthful during the day was now meticulously refined, coupled with the blue-black hair, she looked nothing like a man.

”What, not ready yet? Shall I leave the palace?” Ah Chen tilted her head to look at the stunned person, her voice changing, revealing none of the youthful sound from earlier.

How could she not be a girl?

”If you’re not ready, I’ll leave, remind your people to let me out.” Ah Chen prepared to pick up the nearby hairpin to bundle her hair; just as she reached, a large hand stopped her.

”No leaving.”

”I said, once you decide, there’s no backing out.” Ye Ji’s gaze was deep, his tone fierce.

Though he gripped tightly, he didn’t actually hurt Ah Chen, who found amusement in him: ”You ignored me first.”

”When you overlook me, naturally, I will leave; do you want me to stay here to annoy?”

Ye Ji panicked slightly: ”I didn’t ignore you.”

”You aren’t annoying.”

She only tormented him, day and night, tormenting his heart and making life difficult.

Earlier was just not catching up.

He had no interest in probing why it was her, instead glad it was her. He wasn’t fond of male romance before; it was precisely meeting Ning Zhen. For that, he struggled, restrained himself, all to no avail. This person was her, and his heart was left with joy.

”Ah Chen, don’t leave.” Ye Ji held her firmly, stroked her supple black hair, her faint fragrance assailed his senses, leaving his heart feeling complete. Suddenly, he had the illusion they were meant to be this way.

Ah Chen finally wrapped her arms around his waist, resting her head against his chest, feeling the slightly burning heat, his pounding heartbeat: ”Mhm, not leaving.”

Ye Ji glanced at the tray nearby, surreptitiously nudging it away with his foot. Hou Rongfa dared give him such pictures, eye-searing things.

The night was deep.

Chenghua Hall.

Hou Rongfa snapped back to reality with a jolt, only to realize it wasn’t yet dawn, quickly glancing at the main entrance. Just then, the door opened.

Hou Rongfa held his breath, unsure what instructions the Majesty might have?

This thought was barely formed, when he saw Ah Chen, fully dressed, walk out, almost stumbling in shock.

No... it can’t be?

”Chief Hou, I’m leaving the palace,” Ah Chen handed him a waist plaque, ”The Majesty has approved.”

She had affairs to attend today, departing before dawn. The plans made earlier, otherwise she would have stayed a while longer.

Hou Rongfa hadn’t come to his senses yet, feelings scattered, could the Majesty truly love this person to such extent?

”Hou Rongfa, why are you dawdling?” Ye Ji came out from inside, ”Allow Ah Chen to freely enter and exit the palace, arrange it quickly.”

Can’t delay her affairs.

If he annoyed her, she wouldn’t come to the palace to see him, then what?

Hou Rongfa finally regained himself, Majesty seemed free-moving, without any discomfort? While his mind remained muddled, he didn’t slack off, swiftly organizing the arrangements.
