She is the Side Character! — Watch Her Change her fate!

Chapter 26: Chapter 26: The Princely Heir Is a Woman 26

As for Ning Zhen, with his appearance of loving power and wealth, Ye Ji was not angry, but rather a bit pleased. Conveniently, he had both and could provide them.

For others to try to tempt him, unless they could surpass him, who in the world could?

”There’s no need for a noble title.”

”Everything will remain as usual. If Your Majesty misses me, you can send someone to find me. If I miss Your Majesty, I will come into the palace to find you.”

”We’re all men, be a bit more carefree.” Ah Chen gently patted Ye Ji’s waist, firm and powerful, indicating regular exercise. She said, ”Don’t be so bashful.”

Ye Ji was rendered speechless.

This person was indeed very carefree. He wanted things to be legitimate, wasn’t it because he feared the other would run away?

Enough, today’s result was much better than expected. Take it slow; being too anxious wouldn’t be good.

He looked at the small hand on his waist. Though small, it wielded a knife with ease when cutting people, yet quickly moved away, lightly coughing: ”You haven’t had lunch yet, have your meal first.”

He told himself not to be in a hurry.

Ah Chen was actually not hungry. Even after possessing the commissioner’s body, from the moment the deal was struck, this body was hers. So long as she didn’t try to experience it deliberately, she wouldn’t feel hungry. Not eating or drinking wouldn’t affect her control over the body. As long as she was there, the body wouldn’t die. Yet, as this was an ordinary body, it was better to have some food when possible.

At the dining table, Ye Ji watched the person opposite him, never relaxing his brow.

Ate too little.

Hou Rongfa, however, was happy. Your Majesty ought to be satisfied, even if nothing happened between the two for now, Prince Ning had accepted Your Majesty.

”Is it not good?” Ye Ji asked.

Ah Chen: ”It’s good.”

Just not quite used to eating.

Being happy today, she ate a bit more.

”Eating so little isn’t good for your health.” Ye Ji said, ”You won’t grow tall, and you’ll get sick.”

Ah Chen: ”...”

Hou Rongfa could hardly bear to watch this scene, discretely lowering his head.

Ye Ji didn’t force it, probably because this person just happened to have no appetite today, it makes sense that she wasn’t pleased, having been bullied by the Duke Mansion.

He felt a bit annoyed, knowing earlier he should have sentenced Yuan Bingjun to more days in jail, young people spending more time inside wouldn’t hurt.

After the meal was finished, Ah Chen also prepared to leave and attend to some matters, bidding farewell to Ye Ji.

Ye Ji remained silent for a while, without saying anything, leaving already?

”Your Majesty.” Ah Chen leaned in, ”If you’re ready, come to the palace to find you tonight. I’ll be busy during the day.”

She was indeed busy.

To protect the commissioner’s sisters, whether in terms of power or finances, had to keep pace, so they wouldn’t be caught off guard if anything happened.

Ye Ji, initially with a hint of loss in his heart, became cheerful again, yet thinking of what might happen, he was a bit nervous.

Hou Rongfa: Prince Ning is indeed a broad-minded person.

He hoped the other wouldn’t let down His Majesty, to be single-hearted in the future; His Majesty, what a fine person, was advantageous for them.

”Let’s discuss that matter tonight.” Ah Chen said quietly, sitting beside Ye Ji while holding his large hand playfully, much like the libertine young masters outside coaxing beauties.

Ye Ji knew what Ning Zhen was referring to, he tightly maintained his composure, really daring to say anything, but luckily quite implicitly. Hou Rongfa probably couldn’t understand.

”Are you ready?” Ah Chen asked again.

”If not ready, I won’t come to the palace tonight.”

Ye Ji gripped the hand beside him, unwilling to let go, how could he refuse?

”You come tonight.”

He longed for this person, day and night; finally, with such a beginning, he couldn’t miss it under any circumstance. Missing tonight, who knew when there would be another chance.

They say all difficult things start, once begun, everything else falls into place naturally.

”Wait for me.”

Watching the person decisively stand and leave, Ye Ji once again felt that void in his heart. Only when his figure disappeared, he returned to the demeanor of the young emperor he always was.

Indifferent, noble, distant.

If it wasn’t for hearing the next words, Hou Rongfa would also think so.

”Hou Rongfa, arrange someone to redecorate my sleeping chamber.”

”You know that person’s preferences, right? Arrange it according to those.” Ye Ji ordered mildly, seemingly indifferent, yet his hand trembled with nervousness.

Though both are men, tonight, if something truly happens, it would be like their wedding night.

What can Hou Rongfa do, but comply?

He began to worry, hoping Prince Ning was a good person, wanting a bit of power and wealth would be fine. His Majesty could afford it. Just afraid the other would become a scourge, turning His Majesty into a derelict.

Alas, truly a worrisome fate!

Prince Ning Mansion.

”Ah Zhen, you’re finally back.” Though there was no need to worry about His Majesty doing something to Ah Zhen, as they say, accompanying a monarch is like living with tigers. The delay in returning still caused some concern for Ning Yulan.

Ah Chen smiled: ”Elder Sister, I’m fine. Do you like your courtyard?”

”Very much.” Ning Yulan wiped the redness from her eyes, ”Thank you, Ah Zhen.”

”You’re my sister; protecting you is only fair. No need to thank me.” Ah Chen stepped inside, ”This is your home, stay as long as you wish. As to your life’s matters, it’s up to you, whether to start looking now or wait a while.”

”Wait a bit longer.” Ning Yulan sighed.

Today seemed carefree, but after all, it’s been ten years, ten years of feelings, hard to put down so easily. Even though she wanted a child, there was no urgency. During these days of adjusting her health, she should take time to calm her mind.

”Everything according to you, Elder Sister.”

Whether the commissioner’s sisters married or not, Ah Chen had no objections; it wasn’t something that had to be done, their intentions mattered most.

The task was simply to see them happy, right?

With her around, they needn’t rely on anyone. Eventually, perhaps they could handle matters independently?

”My dowry and Duke An’s Mansion’s compensation have been delivered.” Ning Yulan suddenly said, ”Without any tricks.”

”These are all yours, stored in your courtyard’s storeroom.” Ah Chen said, ”You can do whatever you wish with them.”

Ning Yulan wanted to cry, very much.

Perhaps people outside didn’t know, being Prince Ning’s daughter wasn’t as glamorous as imagined.

”Elder Sister, now that you’re back, it’s great; you can help me with some matters, and those I trust are, of course, my elder sisters.” Ah Chen suddenly said, not letting her linger in sorrow and memories, no such chance given.

As long as there were no major health issues, they had to stay busy.

Ning Yulan was startled, but didn’t hesitate: ”I don’t know what I can do, just let me know.”

Never thought Ah Zhen would need her too.

Initially somewhat bewildered, Ning Yulan swiftly regained her spirits.

As long as she could help Ah Zhen, she wouldn’t refuse. Even if it was beyond her knowledge, she could learn.

”It’s about the Prince Ning Mansion’s business matters. Currently, the second sister helps manage things within the mansion, but the business is extensive, and there are few reliable people. Isn’t that worrisome?” Ah Chen looked quite troubled, ”The seventh sister went outside, only the second and seventh sisters aren’t enough. Now that elder sister is back, it could relieve me of much stress.”

How could Ning Yulan refuse?

That very day, she was taken around the various properties within the Capital City by people of the Prince Ning Mansion, familiarizing herself with the environment.

Outside people noticed Ning Yulan, and the chatter quieted down. As soon as she left, more discussions about Duke An arose. With Ah Chen’s prior control over public opinion, there was nothing the Duke An’s Mansion could do to redeem the situation.

Besides, the ruling of their imprisonment by the current Emperor left nothing more to say, was there?

As night fell, Ah Chen boarded a carriage, slowly heading towards the Imperial Palace.

A half-day without seeing him, she missed him a little.

Ying Fang huddled in the corner of the carriage, holding back words, wanting very much to ask if their young master really had managed it?
