Super Gene Hunting Ground

A beam of sunlight pierced through the distant mountains and shone into the valley.

Yang Xiao and his companions all got up, washed their faces beside the stream in the valley, drank some sweet stream water, and then gathered around the campfire to roast some food.

Everyone ate while chatting.

”Yang Leader, what’s our plan for today? Are we continuing to move forward?”

”Are those Snow Lion Demon Beasts perhaps already ambushing us up ahead, waiting to intercept us?”

”If it’s really like what Ah Bao said, aren’t we insufficient to fight them?”

...

While discussing, everyone looked at Yang Xiao with an expression of uncertainty.

Yang Xiao chuckled:

”Everyone eat up. Since we’ve come all this way, we should at least take a turn around the vicinity of the Snow Lion Forest. Aren’t we all a bit too scared? If you are too afraid, then you can all go back. I’ll go by myself.”

”Yang Leader, we’re not afraid, as long as you’re with us, we will definitely follow you.”

Wind Eagle Elder immediately said loudly:

”How have you all turned into cowards? A few Snow Lions and you’re scared out of your wits?”

Shan Kui roared:

”What’s there to fear? Worst comes to worst we fight with our lives. Whoever’s a coward afraid of dying, just go back yourself, don’t disgrace us.”

Ah Bao also said:

”We need to muster our courage. The battle hasn’t even started and you’re already scared, how can this be?”

With the three leaders shouting, the rest of the Wildmen were also forced to muster their courage.

”Brothers, eat up, fill yourselves and then let’s have a showdown with those stinky lions, who’s afraid of whom!”

...

Yang Xiao chuckled again:

”Fear is normal, given that we are few and they are many. But don’t worry, we’ll first meet with their Lion King and negotiate, we can always find a way to communicate.”

”Yang Leader, whatever you arrange, we’ll follow.”

Wind Eagle Elder spoke up.

”Alright, let’s fill up on food first.”

Everyone gobbled their food ravenously, consuming an entire big water buffalo that weighed thousands of pounds.

Yang Xiao pulled out a map, checked it, and said:

”Continue forward for about twenty kilometers and we’ll be near the Snow Lion Forest. Everyone be careful, to avoid ambushes in the forest, we’ll fly over it this time.”

Thus, over fifty people, including the Golden Lion King, took to the sky and flew over the forest.

Twenty kilometers of distance, for people like Yang Xiao and his group flying, was just a moment away.

At this moment, on the distant horizon, everyone could see a white snowcapped mountain piercing the clouds; that was the great Snow Mountain lying between Fire Wolf City and this Primitive Forest.

Starting from the foot of Snow Mountain, the snowy white forest stretched all the way here, influenced by the cold air currents, the nearby forest was covered with snow and ice and only returned to its green state beneath the feet of Yang Xiao and his companions.

As they got closer to the Snow Lion Forest, everyone could already feel the drop in temperature, a cool blast of cold air slowly drifted towards them.

Suddenly, there was a buzzing explosion sound ahead in the sky, as hundreds of huge white shadows surged from beneath the forest, blocking the path of their flight.

Yang Xiao and his company hastily stopped their flying and hovered in mid-air, standing together.

Yang Xiao glanced at the distance; there were at least two hundred Snow Lions blocking their way, twice as many as last night. It seems that after last night’s attack by these Snow Lion Demon Beasts on Yang Xiao and his group, they felt that one hundred Snow Lions were not enough to overpower Yang Xiao and his group, so they deliberately doubled their force.

It was hard to see clearly what the Snow Lions looked like last night, but now it was daytime, and under the bright sunshine, Yang Xiao could finally see that each of these Snow Lions was covered in beautiful, clean silver fur.

Each Snow Lion was over ten meters tall, majestic and imposing.

Moreover, these Snow Lions looked similar to the Golden Lion King, probably belonging to the same species.

Yang Xiao said to Wind Eagle Elder:

”Wind Eagle Elder, I will go ahead and communicate with them, please take care of everyone here.”

”If you are going, we all go together. What if they attack you?”

”I want you to stay back so that you have time to flee if necessary. With so many Snow Lions surrounding us and a cold wave engulfing us, we wouldn’t be able to escape.”

”What about you?”

”Don’t worry, I will have a chance to escape.”

Wind Eagle Elder was still worried and said to Shan Kui and Ah Bao:

”I’ll accompany Yang Leader, you all stay and defend, keep safe.”

”Yes!”

Seeing Wind Eagle Elder insisting, Yang Xiao didn’t refuse. After all, Wind Eagle Elder was also of the Empire Middle Level Realm, quite capable of dealing with Snow Lions.

Whereas Ah Bao and others were only of Empire Level Primary Level, limited in ability.

Yang Xiao glanced at the Golden Lion King beside him, who was staring intently at the silver Snow Lions in the distance, looking quite excited, like an orphan who had seen their relatives.

For the Golden Lion King, suddenly seeing its kin on Purple Origin Star was naturally thrilling; it felt a sense of belonging.

Yang Xiao patted the Golden Lion King, saying:

”You stay back for now, don’t act recklessly or rush. I’ll try to find an opportunity to fulfill your wish and help you integrate with the Snow Lions’ team.”

Golden Fur nodded excitedly, suddenly saying:

”Boss, if possible, try not to hurt them, I think they are very cute.”

”...”

MMP!

Just like Black Jinkang, stopped dead in his tracks by a female lion? Even disregarding the boss’s life and death?

Yang Xiao glanced disdainfully at Golden Fur, and said darkly:

”What if they want to kill me? Shouldn’t I resist?”

Golden Fur: ”...”

Yang Xiao walked forward slowly with Wind Eagle Elder, moving at a sluggish pace to signal to the other party that they were not there to attack. If they had dashed towards them suddenly, they might have been surrounded immediately.

When the Snow Lion Demon Beast saw Yang Xiao and Wind Eagle Elder approaching slowly, it paused for a moment. Soon, an exceptionally majestic Snow Lion stepped forward, probably the leader, and roared at Yang Xiao:

”Barbarian, halt!”

Upon hearing this, Yang Xiao immediately stopped and said:

”Are you the Lion King?”

”Heh, you think you can just meet our Lion King whenever you wish?”

”Ah, then how can I meet your Lion King?”

”With you? You are not qualified yet.”

Perhaps the Snow Leopard discerned Yang Xiao’s Genetic Evolution Level from the aura around him. A barbarian who has just broken through to the Empire Level certainly does not qualify to meet the Lion King alone.

Yang Xiao smiled slightly and asked:

”Then how can one be qualified to meet the Lion King?”

The leader of the Snow Lion group spoke arrogantly and coldly:

”Unless your Barbarian King comes here, otherwise, you, a mere barbarian, how are you qualified to meet our Lion King,

and moreover, my patience has its limits. I warned you last night already, yet you disregarded the warning and forced your way forward. I now order you to retreat immediately and vanish; otherwise,”

”Otherwise what?”

”Hmph, it seems you are bent on seeking death, then I will not have to respect the peace agreement between your Barbarian King and our Snow Lion King anymore.”

The lion roared;

”Ao—”

At that moment, Yang Xiao’s body trembled slightly, his Divine Sense surged, and his right hand stretched out into the void, grabbing towards the distant leader of the Snow Lion Demon Beasts.

”Boom!”

The Soul Skill, Five Finger Sky Explosion.

Five gigantic fingers pierced through the void, engulfing that Snow Lion within them.

Yang Xiao’s Divine Sense twitched slightly, and his palm closed.

The Snow Lion leader suddenly felt a shock; an extremely strong pressure from all directions engulfed it completely.

The Snow Lion saw five gigantic pillars suddenly appearing in the surrounding space, quickly closing in on it. Its huge body darted towards a gap between two of the pillars.

The Snow Lion leader moved incredibly fast, believing it could definitely make an instantaneous movement and escape the encirclement of the fingers.

But suddenly, it felt its body tighten, its massive body squeezed tightly by a powerful force, giving it a suffocating sensation.

”Ao!”

The leader of the Snow Lion Demon Beast let out a fierce cry, shooting a several-meter-long ice blade from one of its fingers.

The ice blade broke through the air, carrying Extreme Cold Energy, solidifying the surrounding air.

”Crack!” With a sound,

The massive ice blade heavily chopped onto the middle finger of the Five Finger Sky Explosion Soul Skill.

Yang Xiao felt a sudden throbbing in his mind as a piercingly cold extreme cold surged into his body.

”Damn!”

Yang Xiao roared, his Divine Sense surged, and his fingers forcefully squeezed.

With a ”crack” sound, several bones in the Snow Lion leader’s body broke, emitting a miserable scream.

Yang Xiao’s attack on the Snow Leopard Demon Beast seemed cumbersome, but in reality, it happened in the blink of an eye.

By the time the other two hundred Snow Lion Demon Beasts reacted, their leader was already tightly gripped by Yang Xiao’s Soul Skill and could not move because several of his bones had been broken by Yang Xiao, leaving the Snow Lion severely injured.

A roar erupted from the distant Snow Lions, about to charge over.

Yang Xiao shouted:

”Stop, if you come closer, I’ll kill him immediately!”

His fingers gently tightened, and the trapped Snow Lion immediately let out a painful howl.

The group of distant Snow Lions suddenly froze, looking at the Snow Lion leader held by Yang Xiao’s Five Finger Sky Explosion in mid-air, unsure whether to attack or retreat.

Yang Xiao then immediately said:

”I am a representative sent by the Barbarian King; I am here to negotiate with your Lion King, not to fight with you. Look behind me, I only have a dozen or so barbarians. If we were attacking, we would have brought at least five thousand.”

The Snow Lion leader captured by Yang Xiao, due to a moment of carelessness, was subdued by Yang Xiao, feeling very indignant inside.

The Snow Lion Demon Beasts had never seen a barbarian with a terrifying ranged attack Soul Skill like Yang Xiao, moreover, although Yang Xiao had only just broken through to the King Level advanced, his Beast Soul was special, and his Genetic Evolution Energy far exceeded that of ordinary people at the same level.

Even though the Snow Lion minor leader was prepared for the Five Finger Sky Explosion, he couldn’t withstand it, let alone being completely unprepared.

Still defiant, the Snow Lion hummed:

”Don’t f***ing brag, where can your barbarian tribe muster five thousand men to attack us? Even bringing out two thousand is the limit.”

With the Snow Lion’s understanding of Wildman Valley, all the barbarian tribes in this forest added up to only about five thousand barbarians or so. Saying that the Barbarian King could bring out two thousand was already very generous, after all, not all barbarians have the combat strength to wage war against the Snow Lion Demon Beasts.

Yang Xiao sneered:

”Kid, still not convinced? You just said I don’t qualify to meet your Lion King? Do I qualify now?

Two thousand barbarians?

You really underestimate our Wildman Valley, why don’t you find out how many barbarians we have now?”

”Hmph, at most five thousand barbarians, you think I don’t know?”

”I spit, we now have over twenty thousand in Wildman Valley, a piss from each could drown you!”

Wind Eagle Elder loudly stated, brimming with pride.

If it had been before, his tribe had only around five thousand people, scattered across ten or twenty odd small tribes, he wouldn’t have been bold enough to make such a proud statement.

This pride came entirely from real strength, which was also the common sentiment of the now unified twenty thousand barbarians.

Wildman Valley’s widespread respect for Yang Xiao, all came from this!
