Super Gene Hunting Ground

Yang Xiao left that night, taking a detour with the spaceship to Niu Gao’s mining base and directly took Xia Luo and the others away.

Niu Gao helplessly watched Yang Xiao.

”Master Yang, if you take them away like this, how can I explain to Lord Long Yue? He will definitely kill me.”

Yang Xiao laughed, walked up to Niu Gao, and whispered a few words in his ear.

Niu Gao’s face showed shock.

Yang Xiao patted Niu Gao on the shoulder and said:

”Don’t worry, in a few days, you’ll be promoted to be the base chief of a large mining area.”

Niu Gao bitterly smiled and said:

”Master Yang, I am not interested in promotions or wealth at the moment; I just want to keep my life.”

However, three days later, Jino personally arrived at Niu Gao’s mining field, merged the surrounding five bases into one, and put Niu Gao in charge.

Niu Gao then believed that what Yang Xiao had said was true and was very happy.

Of course, Niu Gao was naturally not a fool. He cooperated well by producing a report that, during the attack on the mining base by Wildmen, over fifty individuals, including Gong Yu and Gu Beifeng, were killed.

The names of Gu Beifeng and the others were removed from the register of mine-slave laborers.

...

Yang Xiao, along with Xia Luo and the others, returned to Wildman Valley and settled down for a temporary rest.

The three thousand Wildman warriors who participated in tonight’s battle also returned to their respective posts.

Over twenty Wildmen had died, and their families would be well taken care of.

This battle, with minimal casualties, saw the Wildmen deeply penetrate Pegasus City, kill Long Yue and over two hundred guards, filling all the Wildmen with exhilaration. This was an unprecedented major victory in the history of the Wildmen’s resistance against the people of Witch Star.

On the return spaceship, whether it was the Wildmen King, Wind Eagle, Shan Feng, Tai Qi and other Elders, or the ordinary Wildman warriors, everyone had nothing but praise for Yang Xiao’s command of the battle.

It could be said that after this one battle, the Wildmen had an unprecedented boost in confidence.

In the eyes of all the Wildmen, Yang Xiao’s status rose tremendously, almost equal to the Wildmen King, and even surpassing him.

The Wildmen and people like Wind Eagle still had some doubts, pulling Yang Xiao aside.

”Yang Xiao, tell us, what’s going on with Jino? You said 24 hours, why did he only take a few hours to get there?”

Yang Xiao pondered for a moment, then said:

”This was unexpected even for me. Initially, I had an agreement with him. The retreat arrangements you saw later were all agreed upon with him to cover my retreat,

but why he arrived early, I’m puzzled myself.”

The Wildmen King reflected for a moment, then said:

”Yang Xiao, you have to be wary of Jino. I’ve dealt with him for over twenty years, and he is a man of deep schemes. If I’m not mistaken, his early arrival today probably had a purpose as well. However, seeing that we had complete control of the situation and the upper hand, he didn’t make any other moves.”

Yang Xiao was taken aback,

”Grandfather, what do you mean?”

”You made an agreement with him that you would attack Long Yue, and then he would cover your escape. However, have you ever considered that Jino might want to eliminate us both when we were both weakened, thus eradicating any future threat?”

A sudden apprehension struck Yang Xiao’s heart; this was something he had not considered.

Due to the hasty nature of the events, his mind filled with anger, he was bent on avenging Gong Yu, and some details were overlooked in the heat of the moment. Although he was confident about the operation’s success, there were still risks.

Yang Xiao nodded,

”Grandfather is right; perhaps Jino did have such thoughts. Luckily, we controlled the situation as soon as we arrived and killed Long Yue. Otherwise, I dare not think about the consequences. This time it was a close call, I will be careful next time.”

”Actually, you still had a contingency plan you didn’t use, right?”

Yang Xiao laughed,

”Grandpa really gets me!”

”Heh heh, I’ve slept with more women than all the men you’ve seen, otherwise, I wouldn’t dare to follow you gambling the fate of the entire Wildman Valley.”

Wind Eagle and the others were startled,

”Contingency plans, Great Chief, do we still have any contingency plans we haven’t used?”

The King of the Wildmen laughed and said:

”It’s not us, it’s Yang Xiao. You three have now witnessed Yang Xiao’s abilities. From now on, assist him well. As for the matters of Wildman Valley, his word will be the rule from this moment on. His words are my words, understand?”

The trio quickly responded:

”Great Chief, rest assured, we will fully support Young Master Yang!”

”From now on, just call him Yang Leader. This old man should also start thinking about enjoying some peace.”

”Yes, Yang Leader!”

Yang Xiao immediately humbly replied:

”I dare not claim such honor. Let’s all work together, stay united, and build our Wildman Valley well. Let’s strengthen our people so that no one will ever dare to bully us again.”

The King of the Wildmen nodded, yawned,

”Alright, it’s been a busy night, time to rest.”

...

The next morning, Yang Xiao gathered all of his people, including Gu Beifeng, Du Tianxing, and about a dozen others who came over from Earth, in Wildman Valley for a reunion with Xia Luo, Xiao Zhe, and the others.

Many of them were former subordinates meeting once again, and they excitedly embraced each other, filled with jubilation.

Yang Xiao found a secluded area in Wildman Valley and took out Gong Yu’s body from the Space Ring.

”Gong Yu, we, the sons and daughters of Xuanming Country, believe in resting in peace underground. Brother, I failed to take care of you, a moment of negligence has led to your misfortune,

Today, in front of everyone, I swear that I, Yang Xiao, will do everything in my power, and one day, I will bring you back to Earth,

This is Purple Origin Star, not your homeland. I believe you wouldn’t wish to rest here either,

So, I plan to cremate you and from now on, carry your ashes with me,

When we someday return to Earth, I will personally hand you over to Xiao Lan, to bury you with Xiao Lan and your child on the soil of our homeland Xuanming Country.”

Gu Beifeng and others had already set up the pyre.

Yang Xiao placed Gong Yu’s body on the pyre, then took Long Yue’s body out of the Space Ring.

”Gong Yu, I killed Long Yue with my own hands, and now I bring his body to honor your spirit, hoping you can rest in peace, and also hope you can bless your brother with a smooth journey home.”

Yang Xiao led everyone to bow three times to Gong Yu’s body, then with a wave of his hand, a blaze shot towards the pyre, igniting a fierce fire.

Everyone stood in solemn silence, heads bowed in mourning.

Yang Xiao, Long Yongjun, Xia Luo, Xiao Zhe, and others who had a deep friendship with Gong Yu couldn’t help but shed tears.

Half an hour later, Gong Yu’s body and the firewood turned to ashes.

Yang Xiao gathered the ashes from the ground and placed them in a circular container.

”Gong Yu, you and I are brothers. From now on, we will be together day and night, until the day I bring you back to Earth.”

Yang Xiao sealed the circular container and placed it inside the Space Ring.

He glanced at Long Yue’s body lying on the ground, kicked it away into the woods a few dozen meters away. Soon after, some small Mutant Monsters crawled over and began to gnaw on Long Yue’s body.
