Super Gene Hunting Ground

”Grandfather, what legend? Please elaborate.”

Yang Xiao was like a drowning man clutching at a straw.

The Wildman King smiled faintly, pondered for a moment, and slowly said:

”We Wildmen have lived on the Purple Origin Planet for generations. Before the people of Witch Star set foot here, our opponents were Demon Beasts.

Strictly speaking, we Wildmen evolved from Demon Beasts as well. During this process of evolution, our Wildmen accumulated many secrets and techniques regarding Genetic Evolution.

But in our Wildman history, there has never been a super Evolver who broke through to the Emperor Level.”

The Wildman King said, picking up a cup made of a beast’s skull and took a sip of water.

”At the peak of our civilization, there were millions of Wildmen living on the entire Purple Origin Planet. Among them, naturally, there were some with excellent innate genetic conditions who were also particularly intelligent.

It’s said that back then, a very intelligent Wildman had reached the Empire Level Peak, just one step away from breaking through to the Emperor Level.

This person tried hundreds of different methods of Genetic Evolution in an attempt to break through to the Emperor Level, but all failed. Eventually, this person resigned as the Great Chief and left the Wildman tribe, cultivating the method of Genetic Evolution alone in a secluded mountain cave.

Since then, the Wildman tribe never saw him again.

More than a hundred years after this person disappeared, he suddenly appeared one day in the forest of the Wildman tribe. However, few people recognized him by then.

He told the Wildman tribe that he had found a method of genetic enhancement that could break through to the Emperor Level, but his lifespan was exhausted, and he could no longer break through. Thus, before dying, he wanted to share the secret technique he had studied for a century or two with other Wildmen.

His method of genetic enhancement was complicated, involving both medicinal cultivation and Cultivation Technique. He engraved all these methods in detail on the stone walls of the secluded cave.

Not long after he finished speaking, that Wildman predecessor died. The tribe people followed the vague directions he provided to search for that cave but couldn’t find it at all.

Over time, this matter became an unresolved mystery.

Some Wildmen said it was impossible. Since the Wildman predecessor himself couldn’t break through to the Emperor Level, what made him so confident that he had found the method for genetic enhancement to break through?

However, some were willing to believe him, considering he had lived for two or three hundred years, and it was possible to discern some secrets of Genetic Evolution.”

The Wildman King sighed at this point.

Yang Xiao asked:

”So, what happened later? Did they find it?”

”Nonsense, if they had found it, why would I be sighing? Naturally, they didn’t find it.

A few days ago, I casually mentioned this story with some people from Wind Eagle. They said that a hunter from a tribe was chasing a Monster, accidentally entered a deep mountain, and discovered a mysterious cave, which highly resembled the cave mentioned by the predecessor, with various texts carved on the cave walls.”

”Oh? What happened next?”

”The person came out of the cave, remembered the route map, and took the tribesmen to search for it again but could not find the way back to the cave. They got completely lost after wandering for more than ten days.

Later, even more people from the tribe were mobilized to search the mountains, but still, they found nothing. Strange, isn’t it?”

”Then, did that Wildman record the texts inside the cave?”

”Alas, that Wildman only remembered some simple things. He said the stone walls of the cave were fully covered with writings; it was impossible to remember that much.”

”Does he still remember roughly where the cave is located?”

”That’s not difficult. Wind Eagle said that those Wildmen had organized a mountain search operation not long ago. However, it eventually came to nothing. So, are you interested?”

Yang Xiao laughed:

”Since that senior Wildman could live up to two or three hundred years old, he must have a lot of insights on Genetic Evolution. If we get a chance to see his experiences, it might help with our Genetic Evolution.”

”Yes, you’re right, I am also curious about what secrets of Genetic Evolution that senior had discovered.”

”Why don’t we go together and try our luck? Maybe we’ll find it.”

”Ha ha... Okay!”

The two immediately agreed and prepared to take action.

Everything in Wildman Valley and the mining site was on the right track now, so there was no need to worry even if the two of them weren’t at home.

The Wildman King instructed Wind Eagle, Shan Feng, Tai Qi, and others to guard the Wildman Valley, then boarded the warship they had seized from the Mercenary Army with Yang Xiao, flying towards the location provided by the map provided by Wind Eagle and others.

According to the map, the Wildman Forest was about five thousand kilometers away from the current Wildman Valley.

Yang Xiao piloted the warship and after flying for more than 2 hours, arrived in a vast mountainous area.

”Grandfather, as the former Wildman King, are you familiar with this area?”

”Ah, this title of Wildman King is just a name. The people of Witch Star have divided Purple Origin Planet into dozens of regions over the years, and we wildmen have been pushed into dozens of Primitive Forests, scattered all over. Many wildmen don’t recognize this old man anymore!”

According to plan, Yang Xiao first needed to find the local wildman tribe, then follow their lead to search specific mountain areas.

Following memory, the Wildman King directed Yang Xiao to several locations and finally found traces of a wildman tribe in a valley.

From a distance, they saw smoke rising from a bonfire in the valley, and Yang Xiao piloted the spacecraft towards it.

”Boom!”

Suddenly, several potent energy storms struck towards the warship.

The warship’s passive defense system instantly activated,

a humming sound resonated, and a blue Defense Light Screen enveloped the entire warship.

The warship emitted a buzzing alarm.

”Grandfather, the wildmen are attacking us!”

”I know, don’t counterattack, hold steady, let me go out.”

Yang Xiao hovered the warship mid-air, and the Wildman King pulled open the cabin door and flashed out into the air, summoning a Defensive Light Shield in front of him while loudly shouting:

”Wildman brothers, I am the Wildman King, don’t be impulsive, stop!”

Upon hearing it was the Wildman King, the several wildmen in mid-air quickly ceased their assault. A middle-aged man flashed over and stopped about tens of meters away from the Wildman King. After a careful look, he burst into laughter and said:

”Oh my, it really is the Great Chief, the Wildman King, what a rare visitor!”

The Wildman King retracted his Defensive Light Shield and shouted to the middle-aged man:

”Ah Chuan, long time no see, you’re still not dead yet.”

”Ha ha, the Great Chief yourself are still so robust, how dare I, the junior, outpace you? Ha ha, brothers, come and pay respects to the Great Chief, our Wildman King!”

Dozens of wildmen in mid-air immediately flew over, bowing in the air, and collectively shouted:

”Greetings to the Great Chief!”
