Super Gene Hunting Ground

Yang Xiao entrusted the planning of Earth Village to Gu Beifeng and the others, then headed back to Wildman Valley and plunged into the research of poison formulation.

A total of eighteen types of medicinal materials were involved. Aside from three poisonous ones, the rest were rare medicinal materials brimming with Genetic Evolution Energy,

including teeth from a two-headed crocodile, toes from a Tyrannosaurus, the Brain Core of a Lightning Leopard, bile from a giant bear, and so on.

Yang Xiao had thoroughly researched the poison formulation. After obtaining the materials, he started tinkering in a dedicated room within Wildman Valley.

First, all the materials needed to be weighed. According to the records on the stone wall, a certain weight was measured out and placed into a container. Using Genetic Evolution Energy, he ground it into powder, and then put it into a special Tripod Furnace for refinement.

The fire used for refining the poison was not from wood, but required the Fire Element from cultivators.

Yang Xiao had already collected all Elemental Skills from the Genetic Store. With some rudimentary learning, given his current King Level and Advanced Realm status, he could produce roaring flames.

Of course, using one’s own Evolution Energy to induce flames for refining Elixir Medicine can be exhausting over time.

Yang Xiao could only refine continuously for an hour, take a break, rest for half an hour, take a Qi Pill to replenish his Qi, and then continue to induce the Fire Element Technique to refine the Elixir Medicine.

The refinement process had specific requirements for the fire’s temperature; it couldn’t be too high nor too low.

Yang Xiao had to rely solely on trial and error. In the beginning, the fire was too strong and turned the medicinal materials in the Tripod Furnace to a charred mess.

With no other option, he had to prepare the materials again and start the refining process anew.

If the flame was too weak, it was delayed in catalyzing the chemical reactions within the materials in the Tripod Furnace.

After several days of exploration, Yang Xiao gradually mastered the rules for inducing Fire Element to refine Elixir Medicine. He started with a strong fire, then gradually lowered it, until at a certain point he maintained a gentle simmer.

The principle was roughly the same as simmering soup on Earth.

After about ten days, Yang Xiao finally turned the materials in the Tripod Furnace into a paste.

With slow cooking for two more days, the water in the paste slowly evaporated, making the paste softer.

As the refining continued, it first became a melon-sized ball, then reduced to the size of a leather ball, and finally became the size of a table tennis ball, black with a somewhat shiny luster, like black jelly.

”Hmm, according to the stone wall, when the paste turns into a black, shiny sphere, it should be about ready.”

Yang Xiao exhaled deeply, rather satisfied with his more than ten days of continuous work on the paste medicine.

He ceased using the Fire Technique and induced the Ice Element Technique, slowly drawing forth a cold breeze to cool down the Tripod Furnace.

Once the black sphere in the Tripod Furnace had completely cooled, with a slight stir of his Divine Sense, the black sphere rose into the air and floated in front of Yang Xiao.

He placed the pill into a small box.

Having resolved the business with the pill, whom should he find to experiment it on?

There was no way Yang Xiao would consume it himself; a slight carelessness might result in poisoning to death.

Besides, considering Yang Xiao’s current situation, as long as he continued the disciplines of Body Refinement, Bone Forging, and Yijin, there was still room for Genetic Evolution; he wouldn’t hit a bottleneck just yet.

Everything he was doing was merely in preparation for overcoming this bottleneck in the future.

According to the Genetic Transformation Technique from the Great Dragon Empire, as long as Yang Xiao continued to strengthen his Yijin cultivation, he could gradually break through the Emperor Level.

Even after breaking through the Emperor Level, there would still be a lot of room for improvement.

However, if he wanted to speed up the process of Genetic Evolution, he should practice Marrow Cleansing; as long as Marrow Cleansing went smoothly, he could step by step increase his Genetic Evolution Level and gradually reach the Emperor Level.

Without Marrow Cleansing, the rate of improvement would be much slower, requiring persistent practice in Body Refinement, Bone Forging, and Yijin to gradually expand the Evolution Space.

The current Jino City Lord had done just this, persisting for decades, and with the help of a considerable amount of Evolution resources, had already reached the Empire Middle Level.

Holding the pill, Yang Xiao thought for a bit, then flew his spaceship to a pond located more than a hundred kilometers from Wildman Valley.

This pond was currently the only one usable by Emperor Level Demon Beasts, and it was governed by Black Jinkang and the Golden Lion King.

Although Black Jinkang and Golden Lion King had evolved to the High-Level of the King Level and had not broken through to the Emperor Level, they had complete control over the Crystal Stone Powder of this pond, so all Emperor Level Demon Beasts had to comply with their commands.

If any demon beast disobeys their orders, other demon beasts will step in to surround and suppress the rebels without them having to lift a finger.

Adding to that, after Yang Xiao used the Beast Soul to scare the Super Tyrannosaurus away in the valley last time, Black Jinkang and Golden Lion King bragged everywhere that it was their brother, leading the other demon beasts to worship the two even more.

Black Jinkang now has five female gorillas by his side.

Golden Lion King was still very troubled because he hadn’t found a lioness yet. Black Jinkang was managing the pool, and Yang Xiao had been too busy lately to accompany him in searching for a mate.

”Boss, you’re here!”

Seeing Yang Xiao jump down from the spaceship, Black Jinkang and Golden Lion King had already run over to hug him.

It’s just that the two guys were too tall. Yang Xiao, who was 1.8 meters tall, only reached up to their thighs.

Black Jinkang led Yang Xiao to sit under a towering tree, his and Golden Lion King’s usual resting territory, where no other demon beasts were allowed to approach.

Yang Xiao glanced at the several female gorillas in the distance, who were gazing at Black Jinkang with adoration.

”Black Jinkang, you’re living quite comfortably these days!”

”Heh, it’s alright.”

”Modest, aren’t you? That clumsy ape now has 5 wives and he’s still unsatisfied. He’s got his eye on the daughter of the Ape King.”

Yang Xiao: ”...”

Black Jinkang glared at Golden Lion King and said,

”You’re just jealous of me.”

”Me?”

Yang Xiao snickered, waved his hand,

”Alright, stop arguing. Every time I come, you two start bickering. By the way, Black Jinkang, I want to ask if there is anyone in your gorilla tribe whose genetic evolution has reached the highest level and has stopped evolving for many years.”

Black Jinkang immediately said,

”Of course, it’s the Ape King. He has evolved to Emperor Level long ago but has not advanced since then. However, I heard that drinking water irradiated with Crystal Stone Powder lately seems to have brought some changes to him, albeit very slowly.”

”Mhm, I’ve developed a kind of Elixir Medicine here that can improve the genetic evolution of demon beasts. Give it to the Ape King to eat. After he takes it, he’ll have a big sleep. When he wakes up, he’ll be able to elevate his genetic evolution level.”

”Really? Boss, why don’t you give it to me instead of wasting it on someone else. This is such good stuff.”

Black Jinkang was a bit excited; he really wanted to break through to the Emperor Level stage, which would make him even more impressive.

Yang Xiao was honestly afraid Black Jinkang might end up eating it himself, so he hurriedly whispered,

”This pill is the first that I’ve researched, so it might have some side effects. Don’t eat it for now. After I’ve successfully experimented with it, I’ll prepare a new batch of Elixir Medicine for you.”

”It’s okay, boss, you can use me for your experiment.”

Black Jinkang said with a simple and honest smile.

Golden Lion King gave Black Jinkang a stare.

”You’re really as dumb as they say. The boss already said it’s for experimental purposes. What if there are side effects after taking it?”

Black Jinkang, still not giving up, asked,

”Boss, what kind of side effects?”

Yang Xiao felt a headache coming on, fearing that this simpleton might secretly consume it, and after thinking for a moment said,

”It might lead to death.”

”Thump!”

Black Jinkang collapsed straight onto the ground.
