Chapter 1650 - 570: The Pros and Cons of Becoming a God (Part 2)

”Can you escape?” Rein raised the sub-key and pointed it at Erebus.

One grain!

Two grains!

Three grains.....

As three crystalline grains turned into white mist within the sub-key, the massive body of Erebus, astonishingly, flew backward again.

”Matilda, you actually gave your divine artifact to this human!”

”Damn it!”

”Could this human be your illegitimate child?”

”Bitch!”

”You talk too much.” With a stroke of Reinʼs high-frequency blade, Erebus, in the midst of spewing venomous curses, suddenly froze, his words abruptly cut off!

The enormous divine body began to dissolve into tiny black and gray points of light, leaving behind a single divine fragment much larger than the previous six, as large as a babyʼs head, floating in mid-air.

As Rein reached out his hand, the divine fragment landed in his grasp.

Seeing Rein so easily kill Erebusʼs Demigod-level avatar, Goddess Matilda couldnʼt help but look at Rein twice.

...

Half an hour later.

The bottommost layer of the Floating Layer.

”This Fiend Demon avatar can only be kept imprisoned for less than half a month. King Rein, are you planning to continue using the sub-key to extend the imprisonment time next?”

Goddess Matilda stood beside the colorful vortex shield, turning to ask Rein.

Faced with Matildaʼs question, Rein was momentarily at a loss for words.

After all, his plan was somewhat earth-shattering to everyone!

”King Rein, my suggestion is still to absorb faith as soon as possible, and transform into a more long-lived Demigod.”

”Hmm?” Rein couldnʼt help but feel slightly surprised, due to his rapid advancement, he hadnʼt really looked into the difference between a Full Moon Wizard and a Demigod.

From Matildaʼs tone, it wasnʼt hard to discern that there were indeed significant differences between a Full Moon Wizard and a Demigod, such as lifespan.

”Huh? You didnʼt know?” Now, it was Matildaʼs turn to be surprised.

However, she did not keep it a secret and explained the difference in detail to Rein.

”If you choose to absorb faith, then you will establish a faith connection with your followers... Your body will also transform into a divine body... Related innate wizardry will transform into specific divine authority...”

After Goddess Matildaʼs detailed explanation, Reinʼs face showed enlightenment!

As it turns out, by following the path of faith, after ascending to Demigod, one can ignite divine fire and achieve a divine body by accepting the faith of the people, gaining tremendous longevity.

Whereas a wizard, can be understood as choosing to retain power for oneself, but is limited in terms of lifespan.

At least in terms of lifespan, Fifth and Sixth level wizards are far inferior to the divine.

However, moving forward, the paths ultimately converge.

”However, if you choose the path of faith, ultimately, you will be limited by the faith, unable to leave this world. Once you leave for the Wizard World, your divine body will collapse.”

At this time, Goddess Matilda took another deep look at Rein and added.

”Cannot leave?” Reinʼs expression changed, his brow immediately furrowing.

”Pardon my curiosity, but why did you choose to become... a god at the time?” After a moment, Rein looked up and asked.

”At that time... If I hadnʼt, perhaps... this world would have been completely destroyed, all humans enslaved, or even devoured.” Matildaʼs face showed reminiscence as she spoke.

Rein could hear the hint of helplessness in her tone.

No wonder!

Itʼs not surprising that so few native beings choose the divine path after becoming a Full Moon Wizard.

But, this only made Rein increasingly admire the Seasonal Wind and Ocean Goddess standing before him.

The Seasonal Wind and Ocean Goddess must have relied on the Key of Time sub-key to confront the Fiend Demon and Evil God.

And using a divine artifact requires consuming a vast amount of lifespan, so it was necessary to absorb faith and ignite divine fire.

”Thank you, I will seriously consider this.” Rein slightly bowed in thanks for the goddessʼs kindness.

Even though he admired her greatly, Rein would not voluntarily disclose that he could rapidly absorb divine fragments, simply because it was impossible to explain.

”Hmm, King Rein, although you have obtained several divine fragments, in less than ten years, your strength can further increase.”

”But donʼt forget one important influence, which is the rapid fluctuation of the energy tide, which will happen much faster than you expect, so...” Matilda stopped at this point.

”I understand.” Rein nodded.

Normally, even a Full Moon Wizard would have to be very cautious in absorbing divine fragments, usually taking several years to fully absorb a small divine fragment, and with significant absorption loss.

...

Meanwhile.

Imperial City Tamriel.

The Cologne Cathedral shrouded in evil qi.

Suddenly, a half-charred shell cracked open with a ʼcrack,ʼ emitting exceedingly dense black evil qi, which gathered into a pitch-black fog in mid-air.

The black fog churned, and suddenly, a black scythe-like a praying mantisʼs forelimb pierced through it, and soon another!

A few seconds later, more than ten black scythes pierced through, symmetrically arranged like ribs, and a black heart formed out of nowhere, beating fiercely!

”Thump! Thump! Thump!”

With each beat, the black body grew denser and more solid!

But it seemed far from enough, for even the Fiend Demonʼs remnant bodies constrained by the Key of Time sub-key, at the bottom of the Floating City, seemed to tremble suddenly with the black heartʼs rhythm.
