Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys

Chapter 1603: Chapter 554: Steel Dragon

”Roar!!!”

A deep and powerful growl echoed from the depths!

A massive dragon head covered in spikes emerged from the crack. Judging by its size alone, it was comparable to the body size of Black Dragon Metheus.

Dark brown, enormous dragon eyes first caught sight of the equally giant Black Dragon Metheus, then focused intensely on the metallic sphere created by Rein several times.

Anyone could see that its interest in the metallic sphere far surpassed its interest in the nearby black dragon.

Rein subtly nodded in his mind at its reaction, as he intentionally mixed a large amount of rare metal into the metallic sphere, and the effect seemed quite successful.

”Ah, a weak Five-Colored Dragon and a slightly interesting wizard, you disturb the great Dorick’s slumber. (Dragon Language)” the voice soon reverberated in a deep tone.

This metallic dragon named Dorick spoke in Dragon Language and seemed to hold a disdainful attitude towards the Five-Colored Dragon.

”You...” Upon hearing the scornful tone, Black Dragon Metheus snorted fiercely, evidently angry, but was stopped by Rein with a gesture.

”Wizard, this is the food you created. Now, as compensation for disturbing my slumber, respectfully offer your delicacy. (Dragon Language)”

Rein couldn’t help but laugh silently upon hearing those words, but this was all part of the plan.

Rein snapped his fingers, and the millstone-sized metallic sphere flew directly towards the dragon’s mouth, which Dorick swallowed in one gulp.

”Not bad, Wizard, you have potential as my cook. (Dragon Language)” He licked his mouth, satisfied.

”Additionally, as the price of disturbance, one is not enough—I demand three!”

Beside him, Black Dragon Metheus was far more enraged than Rein; after all, this was a grievous offense and desecration of his master!

”Master, let me teach this one a good lesson, otherwise, even if subdued, it won’t truly obey.”

”Oh, the weak Five-Colored Dragon wishes to challenge the great Dorick? Black Dragon, join forces with your master. Perhaps we can wager—if you lose, become Dorick’s slaves, do you dare accept? (Dragon Language)”

The metallic dragon Dorick flashed a sly look in his eyes and spoke.

”And what if you lose?” Rein countered calmly.

”Lose? I cannot possibly lose.”

”This isn’t a fair wager. If you lose, you must sign a contract with me. If you agree, we’ll proceed.” Rein shook his head and said.

According to records about metallic dragons, even in the ancient books of the Empire, there are only fragments, with some being seemingly misrepresented.

For instance, the temperament displayed now starkly differs from the violent nature recorded; it appeared somewhat cunning instead.

Rein wondered if this was an exception or if the records were incorrect.

”Alright, it seems your confidence stems from the black dragon beside you.”

”However, to oppose the great Dorick is quite overestimating oneself.” Seeing Rein’s persistence, the metallic dragon Dorick nodded indifferently and said.

As Dorick fully emerged from the crack, Rein couldn’t help but examine its form repeatedly, as though similar to a giant dragon, differences were stark.

Its back featured a row of sharp pointed spikes, and the thick tail also bore spikes, resembling an elongated spiked warhammer; these spikes were akin to those of the Steel Forest manipulation executed by Rein, appearing incredibly sharp.

The most noteworthy aspect was the pair of flesh wings, which were completely different from those of the Five-Colored Dragon—no, they should be described as blade-like objects.

Though thin like flesh wings, the blade-like sharpness was apparent; evidently, the wings of this dragon had evolved into something distinct.

However, every advantage comes with a drawback. The transformation reduced its flying capacity considerably.

Especially the metallic dragon, Rein had never heard of any capable of manipulating Wind Energy Particles.

”Then begin!”

”Snap!”

As the enormous dragon claw of Black Dragon Metheus scraped across the shimmering dark silver body of the opponent, a sound akin to the screech of metal meeting metal was heard.

Metheus’ eyes widened instantly; it felt an immense resistance from its claw, and even the claw tips felt a sting—the defensive power of the Steel Dragon was simply astonishing.

In contrast, the opponent’s blade-like metallic wings, bolstered by swift speed, immediately sliced a long gash in Metheus’ well-protected reinforced dragon scales, and crimson blood oozed out.

Injured by a single blow?

Moreover, considering the ease evident in the dragon’s expression, it hadn’t exerted full strength.

This made Rein slightly narrow his eyes.

It seemed that the combat capacity of the Steel Dragon, or rather its melee combat ability, significantly exceeded that of the Five-Colored Dragon, after all, the black dragon was the most adept at close-quarter combat among them.

”Metheus, aerial combat!” Rein swiftly reminded.

Metheus instantly comprehended Rein’s intent, rapidly spread its wings, and ascended into the sky.

However, steel dragon Dorick reacted with unexpected swiftness; a massive whip-like black shadow flickered, and Metheus groaned as it felt a sharp pain in its chest and abdomen, then was propelled backward with high speed.
