Chapter 1605: Chapter 555: A One-Man Team

Over an hour later.

Imperial City Tamriel.

In the Imperial Palace Garden, Rein and Menia were walking side by side.

”Rein, I plan to form a team composed of multiple Guardians.”

”The previous model, where a single Imperial Guardian was stationed locally, responsible for a province or region, is somewhat outdated in the face of the Evil God’s resurgence and the rapid growth of the Cult’s power.”

”If the Cult were to launch a full-scale attack, a single Imperial Guardian handling it would be very dangerous.”

”My idea is to have at least three or more Guardians form a team responsible for a larger area. For example, we could form a Western Guardian team responsible for multiple provinces within the Empire’s western territory...”

Rein nodded frequently as the energy surge intensified, and the Empire began to strengthen its response.

As soon as he arrived at the Imperial Palace, Menia mentioned this topic to him.

”Alas, the number of Imperial Guardians is still too few.” Menia sighed and handed a document to Rein.

”This is a cooperation proposal from the Federation, hoping that we can send seven to ten Imperial Guardians to participate in the exploration of the Floating City Ruins.”

”Seven to ten people?” Rein couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow.

If it were a time of peace, sending this number of Imperial Guardians to explore the ruins would be fine; rather, it would showcase the Empire’s strength.

But things are completely different now. To maintain stability in the current situation, the current Imperial Guardians are already stretched thin, and it’s not feasible to send so many people.

”Hmm, I calculated, the Empire can send at most four Guardians. Rein, do you think that’s enough?” Menia looked at Rein with her beautiful eyes.

In fact, it’s challenging for the Empire even to spare three Guardians, but since Rein is going, Menia still wants to send as many people as possible.

Perhaps others are unaware, but Menia is well aware that the danger level of the ancient Floating City with the Fiend Demon is no less than the last battle in the Imperial City.

Hearing Menia’s words, Rein frowned slightly and did not reply immediately.

After a moment of contemplation, Rein said, ”No need, I’ll go by myself.”

”By yourself?” Menia’s beautiful eyes widened in surprise.

”Rein, are you serious?”

”Yes.”

”But even if you have a contract with ’Mad Wings’ Metheus, going alone is too...”

”Menia, my strength might be even greater than you imagine, so you need not worry about my safety.” Rein smiled slightly, simultaneously releasing the spiritual power he had been slightly concealing.

A surge of deep, profound spiritual power rose from Rein, though it disappeared in an instant.

Rein quickly concealed it again.

But just in that moment, Menia sensed Rein’s true strength.

Her beautiful eyes opened wide, her small mouth slightly agape, and the noble aura contrasted sharply with her shocked expression, creating a rare sense of disparity.

”Rein, have you... have you reached the Dawn Peak?” If she hadn’t been integrated with Rein’s consciousness, Menia might have suspected that Rein was possessed by an Evil God.

The speed of this power increase is too fast, no, it’s terrifying!

”Yes, so, Menia, don’t worry.”

Just now, Rein realized that at his level of strength, even if it were Reginald of the ’Earth’s Pulse’ or Elder Ivan of the Imperial Royal Family, they could provide him little assistance.

The ones who could truly be called his support must be the ’Red Dragon King’ Straz or Wocmas, the Imperial Guardian at the Dawn Peak.

But these two are top combat power within the Empire; leaving the Empire Territory would have serious consequences.

Rein neither wanted nor considered doing so.

The final point is that Rein considered he is going to advance in the Floating City Ruins this time; if the teammates are unfamiliar, it might be better not to have them.

”Alright, if that’s the case, then let’s follow your plan.” Menia thought for a moment and nodded.

”When do you plan to leave?”

”I plan to return home once and then leave. I’ll head directly to the Federation Ressero Canyon.”

”Okay, I’ll coordinate with the Federation.”

....

The next morning.

Federation Anthool.

A high-level emergency meeting was being held in the grand Parliament Building.

More than ten dignified Federation generals were sitting at the back half of the long table, while the upper positions were occupied by influential congressmen, and Vice Speaker Bertrand was just sitting to the right. The elder with a pipe at the head of the table was Federation Speaker Lawson Powell.

At this time, a bearded middle-aged admiral was loudly reporting:

”On the afternoon of September 28 of the Federation Calendar, a resurrected Giant Beast appeared on the Federation West Coast, standing over eighty meters tall, with serrated horns on its head, resembling a swordfish. The Military Department named it the Spiky Monster, and it attacked Westin City, causing over a thousand casualties.”

”On the evening of September 28, a resurrected Giant Beast appeared in the central Federation, resembling a giant frog, with a venom sac under its chin, a tongue like petals, able to spit vast amounts of venom, and it attacked Obedin, causing more than two thousand casualties.”

”....”

”Generals, the situation is very severe because of the...” The pipe-smoking Federation Speaker Lawson Powell, paused as he spoke.

”Energy surge.” Vice Speaker Bertrand immediately reminded softly.
