Chapter 1635: Chapter 565: Divine Artifact (2)

”That’s right, the Shademon has existed in this world for countless years. Returning to a previous time node would at most imprison it, but not destroy it.”

”Even if one had power strong enough to reverse the Shademon’s existence, it’s impossible to turn back time by thousands of years.”

Quickly, Rein found the answer in some images left in his mind by the Deputy Key.

Additionally, he discovered one more thing.

”It turns out the Key of Time was initially controlled by Solson. The main body of the Shademon deeply infiltrated and combined with it, making it impossible for the Goblin Princess Amora to reverse time with her power.”

”It can only be somewhat restrained.....”

Seeing this, Rein couldn’t help but nod in understanding.

This answered a question that had been troubling him.

Why Amora—the Goblin Princess with the Deputy Key of the Divine Artifact Time Key, couldn’t save her father Solson.

After pondering for a while longer, this time, Rein grasped the Deputy Key of Time and in the next moment, the crystalline sands inside turned into wisps of bright mist, further solidifying the colorful glow that enveloped Solson.

Immediately after, Rein removed the Deputy Key of Time.

Because of the remaining power of the Time Sand within, taking off the Deputy Key wouldn’t allow the Shademon to escape.

”With this, I can follow the Deputy Key’s guidance and have a chance to find the true Divine Artifact Time Key.”

At this moment, Rein suddenly thought of something, and with a flicker, appeared in a nearby chamber.

The objects inside, having endured countless millennia, coupled with the Witch Array being long destroyed by the power of the Shademon, had turned everything, books and Sheepskin Scrolls alike, to dust.

However, Rein didn’t stop and walked straight into the depths of the chamber, halting in front of a room.

The basic furnishings and environment suggested that this used to be a study.

More specifically, this was once the study of Goblin Princess Amora.

By now, the desks and chairs once made of precious wood were decayed, yet some gold, silver, and other metal ornaments remained preserved under a thick layer of dust.

”This should be it...”

Rein entered, arriving at the collapsed desk and bookshelf but found nothing.

”Even the memory crystals didn’t survive this last layer?” Rein remarked, looking at the two marks that had turned to white powder.

If the memory crystals hadn’t been destroyed, they could unravel many mysteries from the Ancient Goblin Period.

Suddenly, he felt a tremor underfoot, and a low grinding sound of gears came from above, as if the entire Floating City was undergoing some transformation.

”Huh? Has it successfully started?”

Rein raised an eyebrow, quite surprised in his heart.

He had thought that even working at top speed, it would take Haleem at least half a month to repair and restart the Floating City.

Unexpectedly...

With a flash, Rein vanished from his spot.

...

When Rein reappeared, he was already in the master control room on the fourth underground level.

Since he became a Full Moon Wizard, using ’Shadow Shifting’ had become much more proficient, and what was once a considerable spiritual power drain was now much less of a burden to him.

Seeing Rein appear out of nowhere, Haleem wasn’t surprised at all.

The grand commotion of the Floating City’s restart would naturally alert Rein.

”Your grace, Steel Throne, the antigravity device itself wasn’t damaged. I just activated it, but the main energy core of the primary power device is gone...” Haleem wiped sweat from his forehead and quickly said.

”Hmm?”

”Originally, the primary power device of the Floating City relied on the ’Demon Heart’ to function. Utilizing the Demon Heart’s potent radiation energy was how such a large Floating City could be powered.”

”Now, after tens of thousands of years, the energy from the Demon Heart has dissipated completely, turning to dust...” Haleem said with a frown.

”Is there no replacement?” Ogre couldn’t help but ask.

”There isn’t. It’s said that the Demon Heart was obtained from a High Rank demon that invaded this world ten thousand years ago, so it doesn’t exist now.” Haleem shook his head and said.

Radiation energy?

Rein couldn’t help but ponder, seeming to have thought of something.

”So, the Floating City can float but can’t move?”

”With auxiliary power, it can move slowly, but not quickly, and some high-powered...” Haleem explained.

At this time, Sword Saint Terrio suddenly rushed into the fourth underground level, a serious expression on his face, and said:

”Your grace, Steel Throne, there’s an emergency situation. There’s a significant upheaval in the Dragan Empire Tamriel; the ancient Shademon sealed by the Goddess Church has broken free. Currently, most of the Imperial City has fallen...”

”Hmm?” Rein’s pupils contracted, a powerful surge of spiritual power rippling out.

”When did this happen?”

”The Federation received the information half an hour ago,” Sword Saint Terrio replied immediately.

With a slight thought, Rein disappeared from the spot.

...

Meanwhile.

Imperial City Tamriel.

The entire city was enveloped in smoke and dust, the sky covered in dense black ash, filled with dark miasma and the black smoke from burning houses.

Screams, clashes of swords, and roars resounded everywhere!

The battle surrounding Cologne Cathedral was the focal point and the most crucial. However, at this moment, the black miasma had already covered most of the Imperial City, and even the Imperial Palace, with its complex overlapping witch arrays, couldn’t stop the miasma’s infiltration and had fallen largely.
