Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys

Chapter 1636 - 565: Divine Artifact_3

A slumbering adult Red Dragon was also corrupted by the Evil Qi, enveloped entirely in black mist. The pervasive black mist was burrowing into the Red Dragonʼs body through the gaps of its Red Dragon Scales, nostrils, and even its mouth.

”Argh!! Help me, Straz!” The Red Dragon continually displayed a look of agony.

Soon after, the Red Dragonʼs enormous dragon eyes abruptly turned pitch-black, and it immediately turned to attack the Imperial Guardians.

The dragon that was thoroughly corrupted saw its combat power ascend by at least one tier; even the combined efforts of two Imperial Guardians struggled to defeat an opponent unafraid of injury or death.

But the problem was, the half-plane beneath the Imperial Palace had already fallen, and those Five-Colored Giant Dragons who didnʼt have time to retreat and were still dormant were corrupted by the Fiend Demon in their sleep.

One dragon after another, roaring and struggling, blighted by Evil Qi, became accomplices of the Fiend Demon and attacked the Imperial Dragon Knights in mid-air.

The situation was rapidly deteriorating!

”Retreat quickly! Prince Menia, we canʼt hold for long.”

”The Fiend Demonʼs power has further strengthened after corrupting numerous living beings, and now itʼs impossible to resist.”

Looking at the fleeing and crying Empire citizens below, seeing the corrupted dragons ahead, Red Queen Meniaʼs heart seemed to be bleeding...

...

In the distant sky, beyond the Fifth Ring of the Imperial City.

Cleya rode on a Blood Feathered Horned Eagle, carrying Emma, Reinʼs mother, and Old Rein, while below, a gigantic Spiritual Greyhound carried a young girl as it weaved through the frantic crowd.

In the air, Cleyaʼs gaze was fixed on Bo He below, yet her thoughts were filled with worry for Lagaray.

Previously, Cleya and Lagaray had strategized separately; Cleya was responsible for Reinʼs family, while Lagaray was supposed to rendezvous with Jennifer.

Unfortunately, it seemed something went awry at Lagarayʼs end.

This concerned her greatly.

...

On a street in the Second Ring of the Imperial City.

A Barbarian girl in tight leather armor, carrying a Giant Shield, had a plump woman emitting green light strapped to her back, breaking through continuously toward the front.

Due to Reinʼs elevated status, the beautiful woman Jennifer had become quite well-known in the commerce circles of the Imperial City and was discussing cooperation at a Count Mansion when the incident occurred.

When Lagaray found Jennifer, the Demon Power had already burst forth; the surroundings were filled with corrupted citizens, soldiers, and even quite a few High Rank Knights, all turned into the Fiend Demonʼs minions.

”Clang!”

Deflecting a strike from a Knight shrouded in black mist, Lagaray struck back with the Shield, sending the adversary flying, and rushed forward again.

”Lagaray... let me down; carrying me could mean neither of us survives.”

”Let me down... that way youʼll have a chance to escape!” Jennifer said weakly.

She was merely a commoner, naturally very weak against the Evil Qi, or even zero resistance, one might say.

If not for the protective Witch Artifact Amulet ʼNatural Healingʼ given by Rein, even the trace amounts of Evil Qi in the air would have been enough to corrupt her by now.

Yet, even with this, she felt she couldnʼt hold out much longer.

Jennifer could sense a dark and sinister power infiltrating her body through the protective green light barrier.

”Donʼt give up, Jennifer; I believe we can escape,” the Barbarian girl Lagaray quickly said, dodging an attack from the side.

Most of her focus was on the sudden, octopus-tentacle-like manifestations of the Demon Power appearing on the ground beneath.

Were it not for these entities appearing unpredictably on the streets, she would have long escaped with Jennifer.

These Fiend Demon tendrils could easily penetrate houses and infect Knights, making her extremely wary.

Suddenly, four or five water bucket-thick black Fiend Demon tendrils appeared ahead, completely severing the street!

”Not good!”
