Chapter 1632: Chapter 564: Steel Throne (Part 2)

”Lord Rein, you.....” Sword Saint Terrio couldn’t help but look Rein up and down.

”Lord Terrio, you should refer to the Steel Throne.” Seeing Terrio’s astonished expression, Haleem stroked his beard and said with a smile.

”Terrio, feel free as you like.” Rein couldn’t help but smile wryly.

However, after a careful examination, Terrio quickly stepped forward, his expression solemn, and earnestly saluted Rein, saying, ”Lord Steel Throne!”

”You...”

”Oh no, I forgot to inform the council about your promotion. To prevent them from making the wrong decision, I need to send a message immediately.” Sword Saint Terrio suddenly frowned and realized something.

...

Meanwhile.

Federation Capital Anthor.

On the top floor of the Parliament Building, in a luxurious south-facing office, an elderly man with graying hair and a pipe in his mouth was quickly signing a large stack of documents with his quill.

”Knock, knock, knock!”

At this moment, a hurried knocking rang out.

”Come in!” the old man said.

A woman in a pencil skirt hurried in, her forehead beading with sweat, and said:

”Mr. Speaker, you need to look at this immediately.”

The anxious expression of the female secretary made the Federation Speaker, Lawson Powell, realize that something major had occurred.

This made Lawson quickly take the document and begin to read.

”What! The three Lords Robert have all fallen?”

Just the first sentence was enough to shake Lawson to his core!

Including these three, five Federation strongmen have already fallen in the exploration of the Floating City Ruins... the loss is undeniably significant.

”Hmm? The Floating City Ruins have been secured?”

”What! The major contribution was made by the Empire’s sole representative, Lord Rein? So, the control of the Floating City is in the Empire’s hands?”

After reading the confidential report, a storm of emotions welled up inside Lawson, and furrowing his brows, he thought for a moment, then said:

”Notify the members in the capital to convene an emergency meeting in fifteen minutes immediately.”

”Yes, Mr. Speaker.”

...

Fifteen minutes later.

In a luxurious conference room in the Federation Parliament Building, the noise was chaotic beyond measure.

”Has Sword Saint Terrio gone mad?”

”Do you know that the Federation lost five, a full five epic-level strongmen, and in the end, the control of the Floating City is in the Empire’s hands?”

”This joke is way too big.”

”Indeed, and I heard that the Empire only sent one strongman this time!”

”What!”

The meeting, themed around the Floating City, sparked heated discussion among the members as soon as it began.

...

”Order!” Lawson, who sat at the main seat, tapped his pipe and said in a deep voice.

”Attendant, show the members the specifics of the situation.”

As several attendants handed the original confidential reports to the members, the entire conference room fell silent!

After nearly a minute of silence, a member finally spoke: ”This... Mr. Speaker, is... is what the report says true?”

”Yes, the Intelligence Office has verified with the Cave Camp, and the report was personally sent by Lord Terrio.” Vice Speaker Bertrand answered on behalf of Lawson.

At this moment, with a ’bang,’ the conference room door was flung open, and a male attendant rushed in, pale-faced.

Many members were about to scold him but swallowed their words upon realizing his identity, as he was Lawson’s secretary, usually calm and collected. His current panic indicated something major had happened.

But what major event could it be?

Could there be more changes regarding the Floating City?

Under the curious eyes of the members, the male attendant made his way to Speaker Lawson’s side and said tremblingly:

”Mr. Speaker... the Dragan Empire has undergone a major upheaval! Imperial City Tamriel has already mostly fallen, the enemy is... the Fiend Demon!”

”What!”

This news was like a bolt from the blue!

The high-ranking officials present were all left in a daze.

”What’s the detailed report!” Bertrand, the Vice Speaker, came back to his senses and asked.

Once the male attendant explained again, the members gradually began to express their opinions.

At this point, a military member spoke up: ”Perhaps, for the Federation, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing.”

”Perhaps we can regain control of the Floating City.”

”Indeed!”

”Makes sense!”

”With the Floating City, we could even fight against the Fiend Demon.”

Many members’ eyes lit up as they agreed.

”Not appropriate!” At this moment, a mature female voice rang out.

”Putting aside that doing so would drive the relations between the Empire and the Federation into the depths, have you ever thought about how Lord Rein, being the Empire’s sole representative, could play a leading role in the exploration of the Floating City Ruins?”

It was the beautiful female member Trena who voiced her objection.

Trena’s words made many members nod, though some still disagreed.

Then another member spoke:

”Member Trena, if I recall correctly, you have always had a close personal relationship with this Lord Rein, and I heard from the intelligence department that he is also...”

Upon hearing this, a blush involuntarily crept over Trena’s face.

”Please don’t misunderstand, my point is that with such upheaval in the Dragan Empire, should we seize this opportunity to persuade Lord Rein to directly join the Federation?”

”After all, given the current state of the Dragan Empire, even with control of the Floating City, they might be unable to bear the costs of its repairs, and only our Federation can assist him.”
