Chapter 1448: Chapter 496: Prototype

However, in just two seconds, Sword Saint Terrio realized that the person inside controlling the prototype was not Haleem, or at least not the normal Haleem.

Because as soon as the prototype’s two thick, cannon-armed arms saw them, they immediately lifted and took aim.

Instantly, a metal storm appeared!

Countless metal pellets attacked the team like a torrential storm.

”Water Snake Vortex Cover!”

Of course, Rein’s team was not unprepared. As Hernandez raised his hand, a fast-flowing torrent, like a transparent giant snake, enveloped them all.

The spherical, red-hot metal bullets struck the surging torrent, instantly causing a large splash, but the torrent quickly absorbed the bullets’ kinetic energy.

For a moment, the dense bullets seemed to hit thick cotton.

However, at this moment, Hernandez’s face suddenly changed, and he said in a low voice, ”Something’s wrong, my Water Witchcraft has dropped by more than 30% in power.”

”Just now, I thought it was due to the influence of the magma region below, but the power discrepancy shouldn’t be this much.”

Hernandez, a Dawn Wizard keenly aware of the changes in his witchcraft’s power, noticed something wrong as soon as he cast it.

”Hmm?” Hearing this, Rein also carefully felt the Sawtooth Ring witchcraft he had just performed, only to find, surprisingly, that the Metal Energy Particles here were inexplicably active.

The power of his witchcraft had actually increased by ten percent.

His six Sawtooth Rings, buzzing and rotating at high speed, cut through the dense mechanical bird swarms attacking from the rear, easily reducing them to a heap of fragments on the ground.

”Lord Rein, weren’t you affected?” Hernandez, watching the astonishing power of Rein’s Sawtooth Ring, asked in puzzlement.

”Not affected, rather... a power increase by about ten percent,” Rein replied frankly.

”This...”

...

Faced with the prototype’s attack, Sword Saint Terrio, acting as the spear of the team, had already launched a counterattack.

He flashed, leaving behind several afterimages, dodging the dense bullets in a zigzag pattern as he charged toward the enemy.

It seemed the prototype perceived the significant threat posed by Sword Saint Terrio, as strong energy waves surged from the six-barreled Gatling gun in the center.

”Beware of the energy cannon!” Hernandez loudly reminded.

”The arm cannons of the prototype fire physical bullets, but the six barrels in its center fire some kind of energy projectile.”

”After the prototype was discovered, it caused considerable excitement within the Federation; even I studied it closely,” Hernandez quickly explained to Rein.

Rein nodded, focusing on the prototype’s chest cannons.

Indeed, as the energy surged!

Baseball-sized energy orbs bombarded Sword Saint Terrio like a flood.

But Terrio, forewarned and extremely fast, easily dodged, transferring the pressure back to Hernandez.

The energy orbs grazed Sword Saint Terrio, crashing into the Water Snake Vortex Cover, causing dense explosions.

This caused the reduced power of Hernandez’s witchcraft to be evident as he increased his spiritual power output to maintain the stability of the Water Snake Vortex Cover.

At this time, Rein raised his hand, and the six Sawtooth Rings that had completely annihilated three teams of mechanical land birds flew to hover neatly in front of him.

Hernandez glanced in slight surprise at the buzzing sawtooth-shaped metal rings, sensing the energy fluctuations within had just reached the threshold of Fourth Level Witchcraft.

Clearly, this should only be Third Level Witchcraft by itself.

This Lord Rein not only possesses a rare Dragon Bloodline but also a rare and unparalleled Metal Series Talent.

No wonder the Federation highly values Lord Rein, putting great effort into drawing him in, even including him in the exploration of such an important ancient goblin relic site.

At this moment, Sword Saint Terrio had already unleashed over ten silver sword beams towards the prototype.

”Plasma Shield! (Ancient Goblin language)”

With the mechanical, slightly sharp voice sounding, two pale blue plasma bursts suddenly shot out from the prototype’s shoulders, rapidly forming an energy shield around its tall form.

In the next instant, Terrio’s ten-plus silver sword beams struck the so-called Plasma Shield.

The shield only showed a small deformation, forming many arcs to counteract, and it seemed not difficult at all to withstand Sword Saint Terrio’s blows.

Rein watched this scene with narrowed eyes!

An attack from a Sword Saint, even if of ordinary moves, still possesses power not below that of typical Fourth Level Dawn Witchcraft, yet was easily blocked by the so-called ’prototype’ giant demon statue before them.

He understood why this demon statue had drawn the Federation’s attention, being named Prototype One.

It was a stark contrast to the ’Destroyer’ he had acquired at the Valziger ruins.

The Destroyer is more inclined towards close combat, albeit with some ranged capabilities, while this prototype clearly focuses on ranged attacks.
