Chapter 1424: Chapter 487: The Opposition Within the Federation

”This...” Trena’s face flushed slightly.

But remembering the conversation she had with Vice Speaker Bertrand not long ago, she nodded and said:

”Of course, Lord Rein, there’s a lounge nearby, we can talk inside.”

...

Rebecca looked at her mother in shock.

In her impression, ever since her father’s death, her mother Trena had always been indifferent to men pursuing her.

Yet facing Lord Rein’s invitation for a private chat, she agreed without hesitation.

What about a woman’s reserve?

Could it be that mother actually has feelings for Rein?

Rebecca felt her previous notions about her mother had completely collapsed!

”No, no, it must be because during the battle, Rein together with several other strong individuals killed Gazrian, so mother is representing the Federation in expressing gratitude to Rein.”

”It must be that.”

”Mother’s actions just now were official behavior!”

After thinking it over, Rebecca finally found a comforting reason for herself.

However, watching her mother and Rein’s figures disappear at the lounge entrance, she couldn’t help but feel uneasy.

Inside the lounge.

Trena and Rein sat side by side.

The scenario of a lone man and woman together was something Trena hadn’t encountered for many years.

She glanced at Rein, her cheeks flushed, and somewhat embarrassedly brushed her hair, trying to ease the tension in her heart.

Originally, Rein wanted to directly inquire about Trena regarding the ongoing Fourth Level Witchcraft of the Sawtooth Ring.

However, seeing Trena, this mature beautiful woman, with her hair-tousling gesture and blushing charm, he couldn’t help but feel a slight stir in his heart, beginning to appraise the beauty in front of him.

Fair oval face, looking dignified and elegant, now with a hint of blush, adding more allure.

A voluptuous upper body, slender waist, and peach-like hips, her figure completely rivaling young girls.

Plus, her status as a Federation senator....

Rein suddenly felt a surge of heat in his lower abdomen, even getting somewhat dry-mouthed.

However, being a Dawn Wizard now, Rein quickly became aware of this.

”Huh? My reaction is quite significant, could it be influenced by the Dragon Bloodline?”

”But now is not the time for romance, my priority is to ask clearly about the subsequent witchcraft,” Rein mused.

Facing significant matters, Rein knew well how to prioritize.

”Ahem..... Trena, the senator, the few Metal Series Witchcrafts you previously entrusted Hamadi to gift, I like them very much.”

”However, I’ve discovered there should be another Fourth Level Metal Series Witchcraft.”

”Senator Trena, would you be willing to...”

Upon hearing what Rein said, Trena instead wasn’t nervous.

So Lord Rein was inquiring about this matter, not what she thought....

She had already reviewed the data before coming.

And had been prepared for it.

Actually, the opinion of the Federation Intelligence Department was that the subsequent Fourth Level Metal Series Witchcraft could be given to Rein, but Rein must agree to join the Federation.

Even if Rein couldn’t join immediately, at least he had to consent to joining the Federation’s intelligence system.

Trena certainly understood the purpose, which was to have leverage, so if Rein broke the promise, the secret of once joining the Federation intelligence system would be exposed.

However, Trena immediately opposed it.

The reason was simple; if she led this matter, it had to be done her way.

Moreover, she didn’t think Rein was someone who would accept coercion.

”Of course, the subsequent Fourth Level Metal Series Witchcraft is with me.”

”If Lord Rein needs it, I’ll give it to you once we arrive in Anthor Hall.”

Hmm?

On hearing Trena’s words, Rein was slightly stunned!

She just agreed?

Hearing Trena agree so easily was clearly beyond Rein’s expectations.

A rare Fourth Level Metal Series Witchcraft, its value is needless to say.

Even if she had a great affection for him, directly gifting such a valuable item doesn’t make sense.

For important matters, Rein’s mind was clear.

Opportunities don’t just fall from the sky.

Thinking about it, Rein solemnly said, ”Um... Senator Trena, forgive my directness. What do I need to do then?”

Seeing Rein’s demeanor, Trena hesitated slightly, with some embarrassment she said:

”Well.... Lord Rein, just now I saw Rebecca chatting with you. You two are of similar age, and both Metal Series Wizards, you should have many common topics, right?”

Hmm?

Rein listened in confusion.

Why did Rebecca suddenly get mentioned?

”Ahem... Rebecca has high standards, she almost never chats alone with young men.”

”How do you find Rebecca?” Seeing Rein puzzled, Trena could only be direct.

This...

Rein was a bit speechless.

Senator Trena was planning to introduce her daughter Rebecca to him?

To be honest, while Rebecca is indeed very pretty, Rein doesn’t have any romantic feelings towards her in that regard.

Thinking of this, Rein looked again at the refined mature senator beside him.

If it were her instead...

It wasn’t entirely out of the question.

Seeing Rein silent, instead evaluating her, Trena couldn’t help but blush, feeling both shy and delighted, as well as a bit annoyed.

Indeed, what the intelligence said was absolutely correct, this young Lord Rein has a preference for mature women like her, which is such a unique taste.
