Chapter 1429: Chapter 489: Fierce Aerial Battle

”Alas~”

Upon hearing the news, Vice Speaker Bertrand no longer seemed angry; instead, he sighed helplessly and said:

”What a disgrace! We, the Federation, require outside help to ensure safety in our own territory.”

”Quickly contact Prince Menia and request support from the Imperial Dragon Knights.”

”Additionally, Admiral Ruiz, immediately adjust the airship formation and, once the Dragon Knights are in position, launch a synchronized attack.”

”As you command, Vice Speaker.”

With one command after another issued from within the captain’s cabin.

This time, even the three Ajax Super Giant Magic Statues, which were slung under the cargo airship, had their coverings removed.

Although the statues could not engage the Abnormal Fire Dragon in aerial combat, the energy cannons on the three statues were quite formidable.

Previously, they were not used for fear of attracting the Abnormal Fire Dragon’s attention, which might lead to the destruction of the expensive statues. However, as the situation worsened and with the imminent support from the Imperial Dragon Knights, they were swiftly activated.

...

On the Imperial Airship.

Seeing the fierce battle before him, Rein was deep in thought.

”Although the Federation has surpassed the Empire in the Steam Revolution, even the most advanced giant magic statues struggle to withstand this kind of resurgent giant beast.”

”And for a flying giant beast like this, it is even more challenging to deal with.”

”The Empire needs the Federation’s advanced technology, while the Federation requires the assistance of the Imperial Dragon Knights...”

”No wonder both sides so quickly shifted from hostility to mutual visits.”

As Rein’s thoughts drifted, a Messenger hurried to the ship’s side and reported:

”Report! Prince Menia, the Federation airship formation has sent an urgent message hoping for support from the Imperial Dragon Knights!”

”Hmm, reply to the Federation airship formation that Reginald and I will head out immediately.”

”As you command, Prince Menia!”

Hmm?

Rein, who was eager to go, was slightly taken aback upon hearing Menia’s words.

Could it be?

Was he to stay back this time?

Sure enough, Menia turned his head and gave a slight smile, saying:

”Rein, Reginald and I will be enough; you will remain in charge of guarding the airship.”

”Uh... right.”

”Alright, Prince Menia.” Rein could only nod with a wry smile in agreement.

He understood Menia’s reasoning.

The other intended for him not to show off too much.

Perhaps, in his view, Rein had already stood out enough during the previous battles with the Sea God Sect and the Magic-tailed Three-headed Sea Dragon, even becoming a focal point of the Federation’s attention.

And Menia’s reminder to him yesterday in the carriage further corroborated this concern.

Nonetheless, Rein knew in his heart that he had been quite restrained.

Otherwise, if word got out about him unleashing the Dawn Killing Move nine times in succession in the Nether Sea Domain, it would certainly shock many.

”Roar! Roar!!”

With two resounding dragon roars!

The ’Red Queen’ Menia, clad in a red Wizard Robe, stood atop her dragon partner, Red Dragon Tasa, swiftly flying toward the Abnormal Fire Dragon.

And several dozen meters away, at the right rear, was Reginald, riding upon the earth-yellow Giant Dragon Ted.

Rein watched as the two swiftly departed, contemplating:

”If Menia and Reginald can resolve the Federation airship formation’s predicament, Trena’s safety would be indirectly assured. As her Guardian Knight, I wouldn’t be failing in my duty.”

”As for extracting dragon genes, once this Abnormal Fire Dragon is slain, I can seize an opportunity to benefit without any loss.”

With newfound clarity, Rein ceased worrying and instead focused on the unfolding battle.

The Abnormal Fire Dragon, which had been wantonly ravaging the Federation airship formation, suddenly halted its attack on the airship beneath its claws, eyeing the two swiftly approaching Dragon Knights with cautious red slit pupils.

In general, a top-level sub-dragon like a Fire Dragon, despite not being far apart in strength from true dragons, would naturally feel a sense of intimidation due to its bloodline’s natural disadvantage when faced with true dragons.

Of course, this is generally speaking.

In Rein’s view, the Ancient Fire Dragon before them had already mutated; its size and appearance alone suggested it would not easily back down.

Indeed!

”Roar!!!”

Confronted with the simultaneous assault from the two Dragon Knights, the Abnormal Fire Dragon showed not a trace of fear, actually charging toward Menia and Reginald.

”Hmm? No sign of retreating at all?”

”This Abnormal Fire Dragon is even stronger than I imagined. It seems the bloodline pressure of higher-level dragons has no effect on it.” Rein couldn’t help but narrow his eyes.

Because typically, when an ordinary Fire Dragon encounters a Red Dragon, it would feel fearful to some extent. Yet the giant, Abnormal Ancient Fire Dragon before them clearly defied this norm.

Due to the opposing paths of the Abnormal Fire Dragon and the Empire’s two Dragon Knights, they engaged in combat within just a few seconds.

In an instant, two intensely burning Dragon’s Breaths collided in mid-air.

”Boom!!!”

Two fiery columns clashed fiercely in the air, but in terms of power, it was evident that Red Dragon Tasa’s Fiery Breath was not a match, as it was suppressed to within ten meters of itself within mere seconds.

”Oh?”

Although Menia had anticipated that the opponent would not be easily handled, she did not expect that Tasa, as a pure blood Red Dragon, was unable to suppress it at all.

Of course, as a seasoned epic-level powerhouse, while surprised by this scene, she reacted swiftly.
