Chapter 1430: Chapter 489: Fierce Aerial Battle (Part 2)

Prince Menia quickly chanted a spell, raised her fair finger, and a red spiral beam shot from her fingertip, piercing through the raging flames of the clash, directly targeting the Abnormal Fire Dragon.

”Sss!”

It was Menia’s Dawn Killing Move with extremely high penetration power—the ’Blazing Light Wave Cone’!

Meanwhile, the earth-toned Giant Dragon Ted, under the control of ’Earth Pulse’ Reginald, launched a breath attack from above the back of the Abnormal Fire Dragon.

”Gravel Breath!”

A breath filled with numerous gravel particles rushed downward, targeting the Abnormal Fire Dragon’s back.

Though the battle initially seemed unfavorable, the two veteran Dragon Knights swiftly turned the tables, showcasing their skilled combat prowess.

This prompted Federation Sword Saint Terrio on a nearby medium airship to express his admiration:

”Prince Menia of the Empire has such extensive battle experience that even epic-level strong individuals find it hard to compare.”

”Indeed, especially since she has a mighty dragon partner, the reputation of the Imperial Dragon Knights is well-deserved,” Hernandez, who had joined, concurred.

At this moment, the duo was some 700-800 meters away from the Abnormal Fire Dragon. Additionally, Hernandez was concerned that his Water Witchcraft would collide with the Abnormal Fire Dragon’s Protective Fire Ring, generating a steam cloud that would obscure their vision.

Thus, the two refrained from immediate action, waiting for a strategic opening.

However, just as everyone assumed a successful strike would yield significant results, the Abnormal Fire Dragon suddenly shifted from horizontal to vertical flight, dodging Giant Dragon Ted’s ’Gravel Breath.’

At the same time, after taking Menia’s Blazing Light Wave Cone head-on with its chest, it accelerated towards Red Dragon Tasa, delivering a powerful claw strike.

”Pffft!”

Dragon scales shattered, blood splattered!

Caught off guard, Tasa’s right wing was instantly slashed with four blood grooves over a meter long!

”Roar!!!”

The Abnormal Fire Dragon, despite the adverse conditions, was holding its own against veteran Dragon Knights, Menia and Reginald!

No! It was gaining the upper hand.

As the severe injury to Red Dragon Tasa’s right wing compromised its flight speed and balance, this would be a significant disadvantage in subsequent aerial battles.

”What!?”

Sword Saint Terrio’s eyes widened in shock!

”This...”

”Such battle strength, this Abnormal Fire Dragon should be renowned even in ancient times. I think we should contact the flagship to quickly investigate its origins,” Hernandez added, visibly astonished.

In fact, engaging directly with such an unknown giant beast carries considerable risk.

Just moments ago, everyone thought they had the victory in hand.

Yet unexpectedly, sudden changes occurred.

At this time, Rein also furrowed his brows.

He realized the fundamental problem in the entire battle—Sword Saint Terrio and the Water Dawn Wizard Hernandez lacked flying mounts and couldn’t swiftly assist the two Dragon Knights.

Of course, to be precise, it wasn’t that the vast Federation lacked flying mounts, but that ordinary mounts were indeed more of a hindrance against dragons.

Once terrified, a flying mount becomes a burden in battle.

With Federation forces unable to provide timely support, should Red Dragon Tasa’s injury worsen, the battle would shift in favor of the Abnormal Fire Dragon, leading to successive defeats.

This highlights the peculiarity of aerial combat, where high mobility can yield one-versus-many outcomes.

Rein keenly recognized this.

Though not yet apparent, the situation was gradually deteriorating.

If Tasa exits the battle, Rein estimated that Reginald and his mount, Giant Dragon Ted, likely wouldn’t be a match for this Abnormal Fire Dragon either.

Then it would be the turn of the Federation pair...

”I must act swiftly to support while Tasa still has fighting capability; otherwise, we’re at risk of being picked off one by one by this Abnormal Fire Dragon!”

Having made his decision, Rein stepped forward and leapt off the airship’s deck.

In the next instant, a giant dark silver dragon appeared before everyone’s eyes.

Since absorbing Gazrian’s Dragon Gene Segment, this was the first transformation, and Rein was surprised to find his form significantly larger than last time.

He had grown from over thirty meters to nearly forty meters, even larger than Red Dragon Tasa.

...

Meanwhile.

The elite squad of Zaral’s rebel forces below the mountain was gleefully watching the scene unfold.

At the forefront, the bearded General Richmond indulged in rare leisure during the mission, drinking to his heart’s content.

He uncorked a bottle and downed large gulps, finishing off a small steel military water bottle filled with rum!

”General Richmond, have my bottle,” offered a leather-armored man nearby, presenting another bottle of rum with a congenial smile.

”General, this Ancient Fire Dragon is incredibly formidable! It just destroyed six airships in succession and has now wounded the Dragon Empire’s Red Dragon.”

”Indeed, even the Imperial Dragon Knights are no match. This so-called ’Red Queen’ isn’t that impressive after all, haha!”

”Hmm.” Richmond nodded in agreement, saying little but unable to suppress the smile on his face.

The subordinates were well aware of General Richmond’s character; to put it simply, he liked to act profound and maintain a dignified facade.
