Chapter 1446: Chapter 495: Red Flare Signal_2

However, seemingly aware of the difficulty of Rein’s party, they immediately fled in all directions.

”Trying to escape?!”

Sword Saint Terrio swung his sword once more!

Instantly, behind each black insect, a silver sword gleam followed.

In an instant, these insects were exterminated.

However, as before, the remains of the black insects that were split apart quickly emitted black smoke and disappeared without a trace.

”Was this thing controlling those goblins just now?” Hernandez’s face grew increasingly grim.

”Probably, Crown Hernandez, have you seen this kind of thing before?” Rein couldn’t help but ask.

”No,” Hernandez shook his head and said.

”However, I seem to have read in some ancient book about a monster called the exotic insect, which has records of devouring the brains of intelligent creatures and controlling their bodies.”

”But the appearance of the exotic insect is vastly different from the beetle-like black insect before us.”

”Most importantly, the other party has a definite entity, whereas this looks more like a kind of evil energy transformation.”

”Mm.” Rein nodded without saying anything.

Indeed.

At first, seeing this black insect, Rein thought he encountered a creature similar to the Insect Race, but now it seems it is not.

”Why don’t we send these soldiers out first, this place is not for them to explore,” Terrio glanced at the group of elite soldiers behind, and said to Rein and Hernandez.

”Okay.” Hernandez nodded and said.

”I’m afraid that’s quite difficult.” Rein shook his head.

”Hm?” Both men looked at Rein with slight surprise.

Rein pointed behind them and said:

”Crown, you look behind, I just discovered it too.”

Terrio and Hernandez couldn’t help but look upwards behind them, and saw in the mist, the familiar residential houses on both sides of the street unexpectedly changing without detection.

Though they were houses, both men were certain that many houses appeared for the first time, such as a shop with a gigantic beer bottle billboard was seen for the first time.

”Are these houses moving?” Sword Saint Terrio showed an expression of shock for the first time.

”No, it’s not just the houses, it’s the ground that is changing.” Rein said gravely.

Though he previously heard a certain indistinct gear sound, seemingly far from here, thinking of the gear, Rein speculated something.

”I suspect that under this ground is not just ordinary earth.” Rein bent down, reaching out to touch the ground.

With intense dark silver light bursting from his palm.

The ground shuddered slightly, next, the square marble blocks paved on the street broke one after another, immediately revealing the underneath with a metallic sheen of a hard object, which was soon extracted by Rein with the Metal Morphing Spell.

”This is metal, the bottom is actually metal?” Hernandez couldn’t help but exchanged glances with Terrio.

For a city with such huge coverage, if the bottom is all metal, the technology hidden in this ancient goblin capital far exceeds everyone’s previous judgments.

”Mm, and it’s not natural, it’s some kind of high-purity alloy,” Rein carefully examined the dark metal in his hand, nodded and said.

”Then let’s go directly from below...” Just as Terrio was speaking.

Suddenly, in midair, several hundred meters away from their position, a red dot bloomed.

Even across the layers of mist, the faintly glowing dark red dot could be vaguely seen.

”Hm?” Rein squinted at it.

”This seems to be the Federation’s distress signal flare,” Sword Saint Terrio said gravely.

Although a normal signal flare is much more dazzling, given the impact of the peculiar mist here, the current brightness is reasonable.

”Ask those soldiers and you’ll know.”

Actually, no need to ask, from the gestures of those soldiers who had been Spellbound with Silence Spell, gleefully pointing towards the sky, it can be seen that this indeed is the Federation military’s dedicated distress signal flare.

”It’s not far from us, if it really is a signal flare, it means someone is still alive.”

”Yes, and most likely it’s Haleem’s team,” Rein nodded, his eyes brightened and said.

If Haleem is alive, that is undoubtedly great, it means Rein’s Dawn Killing Move has prospects.

”Why can’t it be the previous two search squads?” Terrio asked puzzled.

”Terrio, do you think that just by the whispers just now, even the elite Military Department squad could withstand?” Hernandez explained for Rein.

”This... is true.” With this reminder, Terrio instantly understood.

”Then should we continue forward?”

”I agree, once Haleem and his team are rescued, we’ll retreat immediately,” Hernandez nodded and said.

”I have no objection.” Rein agreed naturally.

”Alright.” Sword Saint Terrio instinctively frowned and said.

Though the enemy was easily wiped out by him, somehow, Terrio always had a lingering shadow in his heart.

This place makes him very uncomfortable.

Soon, the team adjusted their course and started to advance towards the position where the red signal flare was just released.

Due to the Silence Spell cast, the small squad of Federation elite soldiers began to scout ahead on all sides once more, thanks to the combat-specific sign language, unable to speak or hear, surprisingly not affecting these few people at all.
