Chapter 1437: Chapter 492: Haleem Missing

Half an hour later.

Lord Rein and Prince Menia had already returned to the Imperial Airship Fleet, while Federation Deputy Speaker Bertrand and Councilwoman Trena personally rushed to the Imperial Airship flagship to apologize to Menia in person.

”Prince Menia, we deeply apologize for what has happened.” Bertrand, with a solemn face, bowed slightly to Menia and said in a deep voice.

”Additionally, at the foot of the volcano, we have already found some clues. The awakening of this ancient fire dragon, ’Anguskin’, was not a coincidence but was manipulated by an organization called the Zaral Rebellion.”

”Oh? It seems that Lord Terrio has made some breakthroughs?”

”Well... I’m sorry, Prince Menia, we still arrived a bit late. The traces of their departure were already covered by the erupting volcanic lava and ash, so we didn’t capture any live witnesses.”

Bertrand smiled awkwardly and said.

In his heart, he cursed the reaction speed of the Federation Intelligence Department half to death.

His subordinates were not effective, forcing him to clean up the mess here.

”What a pity, but... Zaral Rebellion? I am aware of this organization; they have been causing trouble along the Empire’s coastal territories.” Menia frowned and said.

”Lord Bertrand, could it be that the Federation’s higher-ups are funding the other side? This time, were they attempting to assassinate the Empire delegation?”

”Of course not, Prince Menia, you must be joking.” Bertrand hurriedly denied.

Although both sides were well aware of such matters, certain things cannot be admitted in official settings.

”Now that the Zaral Rebellion dares to do such things, they are naturally also the enemies of the Federation!” Bertrand firmly stated immediately.

”Hmm, that’s best. In that case, I hope the Federation can work in full cooperation with the Empire to completely eliminate this terrorist organization.” Menia smiled and said.

”Of course, we will fully support this matter.” Bertrand nodded and said.

...

With the Federation mobilizing two more fully armed airship fleets for escort, everything went smoothly in the following journey.

Lord Rein originally intended to peacefully enhance his skin-making skills in the cabin and transition to elf skin-making, but several invitations from the Federation, especially from the charming Trena, made it impossible for him to refuse.

On one hand, as a Federation councilmember, it was beneficial to maintain a good relationship with her.

Moreover, Rein had a vague concern in his heart that there seemed to be a certain dread the Imperial Royal Family held against the Multi-Headed Dragon Bloodline.

Of course, this matter was still unclear at the moment.

But as the saying goes, ”A man without long-term considerations must have near-term worries.” If something unexpected truly occurs, perhaps Rein himself would be safe, but he always wanted to leave a way out for his family and friends.

On the other hand, she also had what he urgently needed: the follow-up of the Third Level Witchcraft Sawtooth Ring, which is the last piece of the new Dawn Killing Move puzzle.

Therefore, over these two days, Rein and Trena’s relationship became more familiar than before.

And Rein also learned about some of Trena’s personal circumstances.

For example, her husband, Grand Duke Heidelberg, unfortunately died in battle with a giant beast last year.

...

Three days later.

Inside a luxurious cabin of a Federation Giant Airship.

”Councilwoman Trena, there is a situation with an issue.” Deputy Speaker Bertrand rubbed his temples, looking quite troubled, and said.

”Hmm? Vice Chairman, please feel free to speak.” Trena looked slightly puzzled at Bertrand.

As far as she knew, the airship fleets seemed to be peaceful these past few days, with nothing major happening.

Could it be that the Intelligence Department had learned of another plot by the Zaral Rebellion?

”It’s about that piece of witchcraft.”

”Which piece of witchcraft? Could it be the one intended for Lord Rein?” Trena was initially puzzled, then immediately looked enlightened, as if she had remembered something.

Because the witchcraft was actually in the possession of the Federation government, not herself or the Haidenberg family’s collection, so she didn’t react immediately.

”Yes, it’s that rare Metal Series Fourth Level Witchcraft.”

”The original manuscript of this witchcraft was taken to Zetaya by Haleem.”

”Can’t we contact Haleem, let him make a copy?” Trena couldn’t help but be more puzzled.

Because she was also very familiar with Haleem, the Director of the Federation Mechanical Research Institute and her daughter Rebecca’s mentor, who was kind and easy to talk to.

She also understood the reason why he took the Fourth Level Witchcraft, as she knew for a long time that Haleem was soon about to reach the Fourth Level Dawn Wizard tier.

”The problem is, Haleem is currently out of contact.”

”Out of contact?”

”Yes, some time ago, an ancient goblin ruin was discovered in Zetaya. You know, he has always been interested in that field, so he led a team to explore, and now he’s been out of contact for over a week.”

”Just recently, the Intelligence Department confirmed again that they still couldn’t contact Haleem.”

”This... Can’t we substitute another Metal Series Fourth Level Witchcraft for Rein?” Trena thought for a moment and asked again.

After all, no matter how rare Metal Series Witchcraft were, in a large Federation, it shouldn’t be impossible to find another Metal Series Fourth Level Witchcraft.

Using another Metal Series Fourth Level Witchcraft as a temporary fix would solve the issue, wouldn’t it?

”No. Because the intelligence personnel from the Empire made it very clear to Rein that this is a complete set of Metal Series Dawn Killing Moves, composed of four different levels of Metal Series Witchcraft. And the one not provided is precisely the last item.”

”This...” Upon hearing this news, Trena was also left speechless.
