Chapter 800: Chapter 301: Improvement and Direction (Two-in-One Big Chapter)

Sword Bearers Branch.

Exchange Hall Service Desk.

A tall young man clad in silver armor stepped forward.

“Hello, may I help you?” When the young girl clerk saw Rein, her eyes brightened, and she immediately stood up and said.

“I would like to appraise an item.”

“Very well, my lord, please follow me.” The girl then led Rein to a nearby resting room.

Only then did the girl continue, “My Lord, is your item a potion? Equipment? Or raw material?”

“Depending on the item, since they pertain to different fields, I need to contact different appraisal masters.”

“It should be considered a raw material.” Rein pondered for a moment and said.

“In that case, my lord, I recommend Master Dibbes from our branch, who specializes in appraising raw materials.”

“That will be fine.” Rein nodded.

Rein had no particular preferences regarding the choice of the appraisal master, as long as they could help him solve his doubts.

“By the way, Lord Reine, Master Dibbes’s appraisal fees range from 50 to 200 Merit Points depending on the rarity of the item. What do you think of these fees…”

“No problem.” Rein nodded.

“All right, my lord, please show your emblem.”

When Rein handed over the crystal emblem, the young clerk was taken aback, took it with both hands, and looked at Rein with respect, then smiled sweetly and quickly left.

In a moment, an elderly man with gray curly hair and a thick yellow beard, followed by the young clerk, walked in.

“Lord Reine, this is Master Dibbes.”

“Master Dibbes, this is Captain Reine, a Diamond Star Swordsman.” The girl introduced.

“Hmm? A Diamond Star Swordsman captain?” Dibbes’s eyes, previously narrowed, suddenly widened in disbelief as he looked at Rein.

Initially, given Rein’s youth, while he wasn’t exactly dismissive, he hadn’t taken him very seriously, which was indeed true.

“Captain Reine, hello.” Dibbes’s attitude immediately became much more serious.

“Master Dibbes, hello.” Rein gave a slight bow and continued, “I need your help appraising an item this time.”

“This is what I obtained during a fight with an enemy…”

When Rein took out a heart-shaped red crystal from a wooden box, Dibbes’s surprise deepened.

Dibbes carefully lifted the red crystal and meticulously examined it, then after some time, he said:

“Based on what Captain Reine just said, after the enemy used this heart of lava to enhance the lava creature, which then evolved into a lava giant, this precisely indicates its origin.”

“This should be the heart of a Legendary Level lava giant.”

“Indeed, the origin of the heart of lava can be varied, as long as it’s a lava creature that has reached Legendary Level, there is a certain chance it will form.”

“But if it is the heart of a lava beast, then after the lava creature merges with this heart of lava, it would transform into the form of a lava beast.”

Rein nodded at this information.

However, what he was more interested in was its use, not so much the source of the heart of lava.

“Master Dibbes, what exactly is the use of this heart of lava? Apart from using it as a means of enhancement when summoning lava creatures.” Rein inquired.

If that was all it was good for, it would be somewhat underwhelming for him.

Hearing Rein’s question, Master Dibbes chuckled and said:

“Ha ha, Captain Reine, this heart of lava is extremely rare, at least it’s not available in our branch’s exchange catalog. If you want to exchange it, you’ll need to go to the headquarters in Imperial City.”

“Moreover, its uses are quite broad.”

“For example, it can be used on special war magic statues; it is an energy baryte of the fire and earth dual systems, perfect for powering the war magic statues engraved with Lava Witchcraft arrays.”

“The next best use would be on the giant golems engraved with fire witchcraft arrays, the energy transfer efficiency is slightly lower, but it is still very suitable.”

“For an individual, holding this heart of lava or crafting it into a staff when casting Lava Witchcraft could enhance the witchcraft’s power by about a level and a half.”

“Of course, if it is purely fire witchcraft, the increase in power might be about 10 percent.”

“And if it’s earth witchcraft, then even less, perhaps the increase might not even reach 5 percent.”

Rein listened thoughtfully and, after considering, pointed at the heart of lava, saying:

“Master Dibbes, if it is used as the energy source for a war magic statue or a giant golem, does it mean it can only be used once?”

“Of course not, Lord Reine, the energy within this heart of lava, if depleted, can be placed in magma to slowly recover. Generally, after about half a month, it should be approximately fully charged.”

“Of course, after repeated use, it won’t return to its original fully charged state, but generally, it can retain about seventy to eighty percent of its storage capacity.”

Rein understood this clearly.

Due to Dibbes’s explanation, he immediately associated it with battery life of electric cars from his previous life.

Just like that, after repeated use, the battery life would begin to weaken.

Having heard this, Rein had gained a fairly comprehensive understanding of the various uses of the heart of lava.

Thus, Rein stored the heart of lava away, and then took out a segment of a metallic limb originating from Iron Man, and handed it to Master Dibbes, saying:

“Master, do you have any research on this?”
