Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys

Chapter 799: Chapter 300: Aftermath and Enlightenment (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)_4

When his palm touched the opponent’s metal armor, with the deployment of his innate wizardry, he could twist the opponent into a pretzel or a lump of iron in a short time.

However, when facing a Peak Knight, he began to find himself inadequate.

As for the Great Knight who had a defense of original force, for now, he was still far behind; perhaps, after advancing to a Liquidization Wizard and greatly increasing his spiritual power, he could achieve it.

Meanwhile.

Yakesen Auction House Mingster Branch.

Drake, who hardly slept a wink all night, had red eyes and his previously neat hair was now a messy nest.

Not long after the battle last night, the scouts started to continuously report updates.

Shortly after Rein killed Asimov, Drake received reports from the scene.

At that moment, he was shocked!

Because this was worse than the worst outcome he had previously imagined!

Moreover, after thinking about it all night, he still couldn’t figure it out.

From the successive messages received, it was certain that Rein was the only one fighting against the Bloodtop Mercenary Corps.

But the Bloodtop Mercenary Corps was led by a trio with Asimov, a Second-level Liquidization Wizard, at the helm.

How could they possibly lose?

And lose completely at that!

Drake had always believed, even if Rein had hidden his true strength, it only meant that the difficulty of the mission increased, but it should still be accomplishable.

At worst, the battle might be a bit louder.

Or the mission might be delayed, not catching the last airship back to Imperial City as previously scheduled.

But he hadn’t expected it to turn out like this!

A complete disaster!

“Thud, thud, thud!”

“Who is it?” Drake answered irritably.

“Lord Drake, Ms. Olena from the Sword Bearers Branch is here to visit,” Fabien’s slightly hoarse voice sounded from outside the door.

Upon hearing Fabien’s words, Drake’s heart dropped.

He immediately understood.

The Sword Holder Mingster Branch had decided to step in.

It seemed that the information previously received within the Sword Bearers Branch was correct; Rein must be a Diamond Star Swordsman and presumably held a significant status in the eyes of the branch head.

Otherwise, the Sword Bearers Branch would not likely choose to engage in direct dialogue with them.

Normally, in such situations, even if they intervened, they would first seek a proxy for communication.

…

In the drawing-room, Olena and Drake sat opposite each other.

“Is this the esteemed Mr. Drake from Imperial City? Hello, I am Olena.”

“Hello, Ms. Olena.”

“Mr. Drake, I believe you are quite clear about the purpose of my visit,” Olena said sharply, having attained the upper hand.

“Allow me to be frank, what is the stance of the Orenz family on this matter? Does your family wish to settle this privately or make it public?”

This…” Drake showed hesitation.

He was still awaiting a reply from his brother, Marquis Orenz in Imperial City, whom he had written to immediately after the unexpected outcome the previous night.

“If it’s a private settlement, perhaps we can talk.”

“If it’s public, then we will report the situation to the Imperial Senate in the name of the Sword Holders Mingster Branch. Of course, if that’s the case, I can return now.”

Upon hearing about reporting to the Imperial Senate, Drake’s face went pale.

Currently, physical evidence and witnesses were all in place.

Though they could still deny many things since the Bloodtop Mercenary Corps, not they, had taken action.

But the problem was, the relationship between the Orenz family and the Bloodtop Mercenary Corps was evident to anyone with clear sight.

Some things, although lacking substantial significance under greatly disparate power backgrounds, become very meaningful when the backgrounds of both parties are similar.
