Chapter 753: Chapter 289: Gaze of the Eye (Two-in-One Extended Chapter) _2

Reine chose his words carefully, speaking in as gentle a tone as possible.

“Of course you can.”

To Reine’s surprise, Lady Creya agreed readily.

She immediately turned around, took a scroll of parchment from the cabinet in her bedroom, and handed it to Reine.

“Thank you!”

Delighted, Reine immediately opened it and began to read.

Soon, he noticed the differences between the Bloodline Breathing Technique and the regular breathing technique; the Bloodline Breathing Technique included annotations for specific postures and added descriptions of certain sensations.

For instance, the first movement required sensing a special rhythm in a certain part of the body to be considered complete.

This made Reine thoughtful, and, disregarding Lady Creya’s presence, he began practicing the first movement right in her bedroom.

Lady Creya watched Reine with interest, feeling both happy and slightly disappointed.

It was good to see her Guardian Knight so dedicated.

But coming to see her late at night just for training…

That was somewhat disappointing!

Reine repeatedly performed the first movement.

He was sure there were no issues with his postures, but he felt no rhythm in his shoulder blades.

According to the requirements of the Bloodline Breathing Technique, feeling this rhythm was necessary to complete it.

“Lady Creya, do you know anything about the Bloodline Breathing Techniques of other families? Do they also have suchspecific sensory requirements?”

“Yes, these special effects are unique to those who bear bloodlines and practice their corresponding Bloodline Breathing Techniques,” Lady Creya nodded.

Reine nodded.

It seemed he truly couldn’t practice the Bloodline Breathing Technique.

This fact made him feel slightly regretful.

For him, just getting started would allow him to use his system to enhance and integrate the Bloodline Breathing Technique automatically.

Unfortunately, it seemed as though the Bloodline Breathing Technique was incompatible with him.

“It looks like I’ll have to go back to the division to exchange for a better level of breathing technique to try,” Reine mused to himself.

…

The next morning, as dawn was just breaking and the garden’s lush leaves were dotted with dewdrops,

Reine was already mounted on his swift steed, Little Black, with Lady Creya and several others by his side to see him off.

The Langgeler trio had already returned to Nome Province a step ahead of Reine.

“Reine, if you have any other matters to take care of in Meister, you can contact me directly. I should be in Meister for the next month or two,”

Lady Creya gazed at Reine and said.

If it weren’t for Reine, the Habus family’s centuries of heritage in Meister might have been destroyed, especially given the final trump card of the Cult of Black Flame: the resurrection of an ancient epic warrior.

Had Reine not stood in the way, even if Prince Meinya, the Dragon Knight, could have come quickly to their aid, it might have only been in time to retrieve the Habus family’s corpses.

“Well… there actually is one thing. I was planning to go myself when I had the chance,”

“Lady Creya, Lord Hamilton, the fallen constable of Flashgold Town, his family should be in County Town. I would appreciate it if you could help look after them,”

“Of course, no problem. Shadia, check where Lord Hamilton’s widow is residing; I’ll go there myself,”

Lady Creya turned to the Chief Maid aside and said.

“Certainly, Lady Creya,” the Chief Maid replied, bowing slightly.

…

After their goodbyes, Reine’s figure gradually disappeared at the end of the road.

The Chief Maid felt a sense of loss about Reine’s departure and said, “My lady… Why didn’t you ask Lord Reine to stay?”

“It’s obvious that you hold some affection for Lord Reine, and he seems very fond of you as well,”

Lady Creya shook her head, her cheeks slightly flushed, but she did not deny it,

“It’s not the right time. There are matters regarding my father and our family here in Meister that I need to address first.”

“Besides, I’m about to awaken!”

“What, you’re… you’re about to awaken?” The Chief Maid covered her mouth lightly, her eyes wide in astonishment.

As Lady Creya’s personal maid from childhood, Shadia knew naturally more than others.

The Habus family, as a noble bloodline, didn’t always have someone awaken their bloodline abilities every generation due to the insufficient purity of their lineage.

For example, no one from the generation of Lady Creya’s father had awakened their bloodline talents.

…

—————–

On a military airship.

Reine saw the wounded being transported back and forth, his brow furrowing.

These wounded possessed considerable strength, being either official knights or seasoned knights as evident from their epaulettes, all ranking at least as captains or lieutenant colonels, but they were generally missing limbs.

A few severely injured people had their lower bodies gruesomely severed by some Huge Strength, barely surviving and now being transported to major rear areas for treatment.

“Logically, with the likes of Prince Meinya, the Imperial Guardian, stepping in, the battlefront should have been crushing,”

“How come there are still such heavy casualties?”

As Reine was about to stop a colonel in charge of transporting the wounded to ask, he suddenly caught sight of a familiar figure also on the airship.

Immediately, he changed his plan and stepped forward, saying, “You are… from the Velociraptor squad…”

“Oh, it’s Lord Reine! I didn’t expect to meet you here. My name is Odins,” the member of the Velociraptor squad, named Odins, seeing Reine, couldn’t hide his surprise and greeted him enthusiastically.

Odins was one of the people Reine had rescued from the Blood Curse Naga cave, belonging to the Earthshaker “Velociraptor” squad.
