Chapter 788: Chapter 298: Pursuit (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)

Facing the magma giant hand, Rein’s eyes narrowed!

With a tip of his toe, he quickly dashed to the side of the gate.

But the next second, the magma giant hand turned like an Earth Dragon rolling over, rumbling as it turned the corner, plowing the ground and continuing to chase after Rein!

Given the choice, Rein naturally did not want to withstand the powerful Second-level Witchcraft of his opponent.

So, seeing the magma giant hand continuing the pursuit, he took an arrow step and spun around, changing direction and rushing towards the wall where Asimov was!

It seemed he wanted to close the distance between them, forcing his opponent to also bear the damage of his own witchcraft.

At this moment, Asimov’s mouth curled into a smile.

With his extremely rich combat experience, he immediately understood Rein’s plan upon seeing this scene.

A Great Knight, skilled in close combat and engaging him would naturally try to close the distance, otherwise, they would not be able to harm him.

And to this, he already had a set of mature countermeasures.

Suddenly, a fiery red ring of light flashed around Asimov, then vanished instantly, followed quickly by his chanting of more incantations.

And when Rein was still more than ten meters away from him, Asimov raised his short staff toward Rein, and suddenly, a burst of flame shot towards Rein’s face!

Rein’s reaction was also extremely quick, his Magic Silver Kite Shield raised in his hand, firmly blocking in front of his chest.

With a “boom”!

Rein solidly blocked the Flame Strike from his opponent, but the explosive force of the blast also forced his forward-rushing body to temporarily halt.

Asimov laughed, thinking ‘just like that’, as he lifted his left hand and clenched it heavily!

The next instant!

The giant hand of magma struck from behind, grabbing fiercely toward Rein.

But the next second, a flash of shock crossed Asimov’s eyes.

Because he saw three metal Kite Shields suddenly swirling around Rein, keeping the fiercely grabbing magma giant hand at a distance of one or two meters.

Though the opponent’s shield was now creaking, it had after all withstood the attack.

How could this be?

His Hand of Magma had at least 60 degrees of power; how could Rein withstand it with his innate wizardry?

This should not be!

Even as a rare official Wizard and Great Knight, Rein was only a Level 1 Wizard and should not have been able to withstand a Second-level Witchcraft!

Asimov naturally mistook the ‘Metal Barrier’, which Rein had just cast, as innate wizardry.

After all, a casting time of 0.25 seconds was enough to mix the false with the true.

Meanwhile, Rein took advantage of the momentary defense of the three Kite Shields, calmly sidestepping to dodge, avoiding the mighty grasp of the magma giant hand, and once again stood at a distance from Asimov.

Though he had been at a slight disadvantage in the previous round.

But now, Rein’s eyes were even brighter, and his spirits for battle were soaring even higher.

His opponent was the first Second-level Wizard he had encountered. In terms of combat power, this was the No.2 enemy he had faced to date, second only to the ancient hero Mong.

But the two’s styles of combat were completely different!

One was as unrestrained and bold as a lion, the other as cunning and calculative as a snake.

And most importantly, Rein could clearly feel that when he was fully immersed in combat, his Will seemed to have condensed just a bit more.

Indeed, combat was a quick way to enhance the brilliance of one’s Will.

…

At this moment, the Bloodtop Mercenary Corps’ affiliated knight squad guarding outside the Rein Mansion had just killed a group of patrolling Night Watchmen passing by.

At the same time, they were quite surprised by the rumbling commotion of battle coming from inside the mansion.

The four exchanged looks, seeing the shock in each other’s eyes.

Three seniors had moved out together, yet they had not been able to quickly subdue their opponent?

It seemed the strength of the other party was extraordinary!

However…

The retreat time point set out in the original plan was about to arrive.

If the seniors did not come out by then, the consecutive disappearance of patrol members would soon be discovered by the Imperial Security Department, and retreat would then become much more difficult.

Perhaps, for the seniors, being surrounded by the Imperial elites was just a minor inconvenience.

But for them, it would be a big trouble.

On the other side, the affiliated squad.

The four Level 1 Wizard Apprentices responsible for suppressing the strong wizardry energy fluctuations in the area were now dotted with fine sweat on their foreheads.

They looked towards the foggy mansion with astonished eyes.

Wasn’t that energy fluctuation too intense?

Could it be that Asimov had gone all out?

Who exactly were they facing this time?

Were they that strong?

They were starting to struggle, only able to hold out for a maximum of one more minute since their spiritual power was almost exhausted.

Inside the mansion.

Having failed with his last attack, Asimov’s expression grew even graver, and for the first time, he regarded Rein, the young man, as a formidable enemy.

At the same time, he knew that it was not working to continue this standoff.

His time was limited; according to the prearranged plan, he had about half a minute left.

“Since it’s come to this, I’ll have to deploy that move!”

“As long as the opponent is injured, the battle to follow will be simple.”

Asimov’s eyes hardened as he lifted his short staff and began to chant loudly, a surging wave of energy rolling out.
