Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

The Holy Sword shines with brilliance, crimson blood slowly drips down, the last bit of blood in Lux’s Blood Bar gradually drains away.

Looking up, Yang Yu fixed his gaze on Lux’s Blood Bar.

The Golden Ape that attacked Yang Yu once relied on willpower to withstand a fatal attack and launched a counterattack.

Yang Yu is uncertain whether Lux can rely on consciousness to withstand a fatal blow.

All matters should be handled cautiously.

Just in case Lux has a second life, Yang Yu can conveniently organize another attack.

The name above Lux’s head quickly flickered.

After Lux took over Vorquis’ body, he has been acting under Vorquis’ name.

Yang Yu could not confirm through the panel information that Lux invaded Vorquis’ body.

Even after Yang Yu uncovered Lux’s true identity, the name Lux bore did not change.

... Until Lux absorbed the Demon King’s Power and became the new Demon King.

Now, the name above Lux’s head flickered between Lux and Vorquis rapidly, finally settling back as Vorquis.

Sharp gaze gradually softened, Vorquis regained control of his body.

Without obstacles seeing and hearing everything outside, intense pain tearing Lux’s body, he nevertheless smiled, desperately forcing out words:

”Please bury me and her in one...”

Before the words could be finished, Vorquis tilted back with the Holy Sword and fell on the floating Demon King City module, completely losing light in his eyes.

”Sorry.

Thank you for your choice.

You are a deserving Hero.

Vorquis.

Until we meet again.”

Approaching Vorquis, Yang Yu closed his dim eyes for him.

Gao Yuanyi observed from afar, he initially planned to rescue when Yang Yu was in danger, but it seemed unnecessary.

”I knew this guy wouldn’t disappoint me.

He definitely wouldn’t lose to someone who’s full of weaknesses.”

”When Lux spoke, I was startled and thought we had failed.

Luckily, it seems the Goddess of Fortune is on our side.”

Mechanical arm sparks flash, a tiny figure with a golden ponytail sat on Gao Yuanyi’s shoulder,

”Important skills were used on others, if Lux had other moves...

Next, perhaps we can only...”

Halfway through the words, Laplace stood up from Gao Yuanyi’s shoulder, with a solemn expression, looking towards the sky.

Gao Yuanyi followed Laplace’s gaze and looked towards the horizon.

The huge magic vortex did not stop because the Demon King was eliminated, instead, it slowly rotated, continuing to absorb the surrounding magic power.

Bai Jin and the others felt strange.

The magic that stopped in their hands began operating again.

Clearly as Demon King, Lux should have been defeated by Yang Yu, why is the magic still running?

Without hesitation, Bai Jin immediately reported the detected anomaly to Yang Yu.

Yang Yu glanced at the Holy Sword pierced in Vorquis, then looked at the empty space in front as if feeling something.

The system panel shows that the task of subduing the Demon King has not been completed.

Vorquis indeed fell, his Life Value also completely zeroed, Lux indeed is not in Vorquis’ body.

Considering Lux might not want to die like this, possibly invading the Holy Sword and then occupying his own body through it, Yang Yu was cautious, deliberately leaving the Holy Sword lodged in Vorquis’ body.

But it looked like Lux did not choose to enter the Holy Sword and act on the opportunity.

Instead, he stood at the center of the magic vortex in the form of a soul, manipulating the magic storm.

Retrieving the Holy Sword and tossing it into the inventory, Yang Yu took out the Black Tachi.

Soul, the byproduct of this Magic World, that civilization did not thoroughly research.

They quickly created some unique sub-human races, allowing them to manipulate others’ souls to fight, becoming spiritual ability users in others’ eyes.

The reason Lux could invade others’ bodies and reside in the Holy Sword, probably inherited some bloodline of spiritual ability users.

”Lux, is it necessary to go to such lengths?”

The vortex in the sky rotated faster and bigger, all magic power around being drawn in.

Below the vortex, a faint silhouette appeared.

The person was an aging elder, seemingly spanning hundreds of years in vicissitudes, while simultaneously that person was a spirited youth, unchanged in will from the past.

Two different images merged into one, Lux appeared before Yang Yu and the others in soul form.

Another figure appeared in the vortex.

A violet-haired girl slowly floated from behind Lux, embracing him from behind.

Soul-state Lux painstakingly purged Vorquis’ elements from his soul.

While the Demon King’s power hadn’t completely dissipated, soul-state Lux raised his right hand, exerting all effort to mobilize the remaining Demon King’s power to complete the magic above.

This is Lux’s final defiance:

”It’s not over yet.

Don’t think we’ll concede so easily!

The will spanning centuries.

No. It’s the will spanning millennia.

Will never easily collapse.

My body, my soul, all originate from that civilization.

Only by defeating the goddess could this world find a path, and we can live better.

As her lackeys, you’ll ultimately gain nothing.

No one can interfere, I will destroy everything here.

If you think you can escape, then try it.”

Bai Jin’s reassuring words sounded by the ear, Yang Yu sighed, sheathed the Black Tachi that was taken out, fastened it on his belt, and fearlessly walked towards Lux.

Yang Yu reached the center of the storm, directly confronting Lux:

”You still haven’t understood ultimately...

Your body, your soul, were merely crafted by that civilization.

All of you stem from the ancient times.

Originating from, the ancestor called ’Luca’.

Even in death, you haven’t changed your persistence.

However...

You should hand over the future to those of us living.

You intend to use your final strength to explode here?

Then give it a try.

See if you, as you are now, can truly explode here.”

As soon as Yang Yu finished speaking, the massive magic array in the sky moved slower and slower, as if something jammed it, halting in mid-air.

No matter how Lux manipulated the massive magic in the sky, the vortex wouldn’t budge.

After a while, the massive magic array in the sky slowly began reverse rotation, scattering the gathered magic power.

Lux widened his eyes, unable to accept this result.

He tried to sense how Bai Jin and the others achieved it, but existing as a Spiritual Body, he increasingly struggled to control the massive Demon King’s Power; he could detect Bai Jin and the others tampered with his magic but didn’t know specifics.
