Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

”Big talk is easy. Prove it if you can.”

An immense surge of black magic exploded, forming a towering silhouette several feet tall behind Lux.

The silhouette was awe-inspiring, looking down on all beings, as if imbued with the will of countless generations of Demon Kings, capable of destroying everything with a mere gesture.

”I don’t need you to tell me; I’ll give it my all.”

”Show me too, your prowess as a Hero, and as a Demon King.”

Clenching the black tachi tightly, restraining his breath, Yang Yu focused his gaze, and everything gradually slowed in his eyes.

In the battle to come, any misstep could lead to complete defeat. Even if the success rate of the plan is unknown, even if unforeseen events might occur...

Now, all that can be done is to fight, to believe in the comrades who have battled alongside him till now.

A blood-red light flashed in his eyes, and Yang Yu’s figure suddenly vanished from where he stood.

Upon the next glance, Yang Yu was already in front of Lux, swinging the black long sword towards Lux’s head.

Thick black mist swirled around Yang Yu’s tachi, desperately clinging to Yang Yu’s blade.

The special effect of [Shadow Deception] couldn’t keep up with the speed at which Yang Yu’s blade swung!

Wielding the Holy Sword entwined with black magic, Lux churned the viscous magic around him.

As the King who commanded all magic, the thicker the magic, the more freely Lux could wield it.

With a mere flick of his finger, Lux forged a thick black magic shield around himself.

The imposing [Shadow Deception] failed to strike the thick magic shield, causing black sparks to fly.

Activating the [Incredible Braking Boots], Yang Yu forcibly halted his attack, quickly shifting positions.

[Broken Cocoon Butterfly] shone, transforming into a brick-like ovular shape.

Yang Yu fiercely slapped to the left, the heavy [Broken Cocoon Butterfly] crashing an opening in Lux’s shield.

The magic shield created by the Demon King was far stronger than ordinary shields, even the [Broken Cocoon Butterfly] with the [Shield Shattering] skill couldn’t pierce Lux’s shield in one blow.

Fortunately, the black long sword in Yang Yu’s hand could also slice through magic.

Aiming at the opening in Lux’s shield, Yang Yu stabbed forcefully, piercing Lux’s shield like a popped bubble.

The tachi plunged into Lux’s back, sparking black flames.

Without the true damage boost of [Fury Blood], Yang Yu’s attack only scraped a thin layer of blood from Lux.

But, damage can accumulate over time.

In the games Yang Yu played, there were quite a few bosses with an unusually high blood volume.

Yang Yu still vividly remembers the days spent tirelessly hacking away at the final boss’s health bar with sword blade after sword blade.

During the grueling battle, Yang Yu had questioned life itself several times, but in order to see the end of the story, to experience the achievement of beating the game, Yang Yu persevered time and again, winning the game.

Today is different from the past.

However, Yang Yu’s determination to defeat the enemy in front of him hasn’t changed at all.

The power of crimson blood covered Yang Yu’s entire body, being scattered around Lux.

An extremely powerful deceleration field spread out from Yang Yu as the center.

Lux didn’t attempt to dispel the [Blood Burst Earth] that Yang Yu had set up; he lowered his chin, and the dense magic instantly descended, constructing a stronger deceleration field than Yang Yu’s, pressing down on Yang Yu’s head.

But Yang Yu acted as if nothing had changed, hovering like a specter beside Lux, his sharp sword blade repeatedly striking Lux.

Checking the panel, Yang Yu’s speed indeed changed, but his unstoppable attacks gave Lux the illusion that nothing had changed.

Wielding the Holy Sword, Lux tried to follow Yang Yu’s movements to defend.

However, the angle of Yang Yu’s attacks was simply too tricky, and once he defended, he would reveal more openings for attacks to land in succession.

After weighing his options, Lux decided not to persist in defending. He waved his large hand, gathering a mass of magic in his palm, and began brewing a large-scale spell to break the enemy.

Purple thorns erupted from the ground, like tentacles emerging from the abyss, winding persistently around Lux’s limbs.

With a simple movement of his fingers, the magic gathered around Lux shredded the entwining purple thorns to pieces, turning them into part of his spell.

With his entire body full of openings, Yang Yu attacked even more recklessly, furiously shaving away.

As time went on, the magic surrounding them grew more intense.

Every step, Yang Yu could feel noticeable obstruction; the magic gathering around Lux was trying every means to stop Yang Yu’s movements and slow him down.

A regular person here would likely be torn to shreds in an instant by the magic near Lux.

Only people like Yang Yu are capable of moving freely in the center of magic concentration, witnessing Lux turning the thick magic into substantial spells.

Round whirlwinds leaped continuously in Lux’s palm.

Since earlier, the aerial magician’s attacks had noticeably slowed, as if realizing anomalies.

Finally realizing that earlier magic attacks were being treated as a power source? Whatever magic they unleashed, it was now futile, and it’s too late to regret.

The sharp tachi continued to slash, Lux ignoring the pain Yang Yu inflicted, throwing the spinning vortex magic into the sky.

In an instant, the swirling magic vortex expanded hundreds of millions of times, forming a new storm above Yang Yu and the others.

The blocks that formed the Demon King City and the blocks forming a high platform were blown into the sky by the powerful storm, rolling rapidly in the air along the direction of the whirlwind.

The sea beneath the Demon King City was also brought into the sky by this powerful storm, sprinkling cold raindrops.

The square where Yang Yu and Lux stood remained unmoved, becoming the storm’s center.

Barely catching Yang Yu’s movements, Lux used the Holy Sword to block one of Yang Yu’s attacks, the purple light in his eyes flickered wildly, locking onto Yang Yu, slowing his ghostly assault.

A strange wind blew past Yang Yu, without directing an attack at him, carrying Lux into the sky.

Lux unexpectedly chose to leave the battlefield proactively, refusing to clash head-on with Yang Yu.

Everything Yang Yu had said earlier was true.

If Lux didn’t control the power of the Demon King, relying solely on skill and reflex, he simply couldn’t win against Yang Yu.

It’s hard to imagine that in this situation, Yang Yu still hides some of his strength.

But now, Lux possesses supreme power, even if it hasn’t reached its peak, it has the capability to determine victory.

During his years as a Hero, Lux encountered countless difficult-to-defeat enemies, and he never rigidly engaged in one-on-one duels with a bet on his life.

After all, back then, he bore the weight of the entire world on his shoulders.

It’s the same now.
