Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Responding to the sound, Yang Yu arrived slowly.

Yang Yu seemed nonchalant, the oppressive aura around him had disappeared entirely, as if he had no will to continue fighting.

Lux stared at Yang Yu, without attacking. An indescribable anger filled his heart.

He could not remain indifferent, seeing the people connected to him being killed.

”Look at the good deeds you’ve done.

Your target is me; there’s absolutely no need to involve her.”

Yang Yu also stared at Lux and spoke:

”Just now, you were intending to strike at my companion.

If I hadn’t acted, I might end up like you now.

We are fighting here, constantly risking our lives.

Daring to intervene in this battle, she was mentally prepared for it.

Over these hundreds of years, she has been secretly plotting, dragging countless people into this whirlpool, I don’t believe she wasn’t aware of this.

I’m not going to say she deserved it.

We are all moving forward on what we each believe to be the right paths.

Even though mentioning this now seems somewhat inappropriate.

But Lux, are you not seriously considering what I just said?

Perhaps there truly exists another possibility.”

Lux held his forehead, a terrifying sneer slipped from his lips: ”At this point, you still want me to believe in that foolish goddess?

Only you goddess’ apostles, those who benefit from the goddess’ apostles, would constantly beg for scraps behind the goddess, treated like puppets.”

I’m not like you.

Having gone through such a life, I know what a goddess’ apostle is, I know the true nature of the goddess.

She is an object that must be overcome.

The differences she shaped remain within the world, whether she is alien civilization or truly a goddess, she is to be overcome.

The only thing that can accomplish our Human selves is ourselves.”

Exhaling deeply, Yang Yu nodded toward Lux:

”You’re right.

The only thing that can accomplish our Human selves is ourselves.

But the question is, just how many people think like you?

Back when I strategized ’Wisdom’s Labyrinth,’ your partner Scarjade once told me the solution to the puzzle was a kind of animal.

Humans, thinking they possess wisdom, often think they are above other animals, frequently neglecting the fact that they are animals too.

When hearing the solution involves an animal, they subconsciously exclude humans from it.

Since humans are a kind of animal, they share the common traits of other animals.

Just like they fail to recognize humans are animals, they fail to recognize these shared traits.

Within the Human race, there will always be those who excessively release this nature, emphasize so-called survival of the fittest, aiming to dominate over the majority, reveling in self-exaltation.

Reflect on how past civilizations collapsed!

Was it the goddess’s prank, or was it someone with ulterior motives again emphasizing the so-called survival of the fittest, aiming to dominate over the majority?

People crave equality, but when equality arrives, some begin to anticipate enjoying privileges.”

”Hehehe.

Do you want to criticize the world I pursue?

Want to tell me that the civilizations Humans built in the past were doomed to collapse, that they were just doing futile work, the world I pursue simply doesn’t exist...

to use this to exonerate the goddess?” Lux laughed again, his face full of disdain.

Yang Yu shook his head in front of Lux:

”I really think that past civilization was incredible.

In the world I live in, there are so many countries, far more than the chaotic era you witnessed.

Although I didn’t follow much news on the subject, when the information exploded in growth, I was influenced by it.

Not mentioning countries, shrinking it down to a region, a village.

Many people can’t manage mutual respect, preferring to follow their ’nature.’

But that civilization named Luca managed it, bringing together many countries, people from different cultures, bringing unprecedented prosperity to their civilization.

They also want to escape the cycle of prosperity followed by decline, and have been continuously striving for that.

But the path they chose was far more difficult than imagined, and slightly loosening might breed and expand darkness, eventually swallowing the entire world.

Although I have not witnessed the collapse of that past civilization firsthand, I can roughly imagine that the time point when the goddess appeared... no, it should be an earlier time point, when Humans began exploring space, darkness might have been rapidly growing.

People born in that era, many have not witnessed the era where nations stood alone, it’s hard to imagine past people fighting to the death.

Saying this, I suddenly understand why the person who wrote the diary chose to leave the core of power and become a professor.

Perhaps, he wanted to correct some things.

——Humans became overly obsessed with fighting the goddess, thereby ignoring some fundamental things.

The goddess might be a scapegoat.

She happened to appear at that time point, got dragged into the whirlpool of Human internal struggle.”

”You’re really articulate.

Where is your evidence?

If the goddess is truly a scapegoat, why has she remained silent to this day?

Clearly, there are so many opportunities.

You, him, this hero, the heroes and goddess’ apostles of the past.

Also, at the beginning when fighting the goddess.

She clearly had so many opportunities to clarify the truth, why didn’t she do that?”

Lux roared,

”From her choices, it can be seen. She doesn’t care, she enjoys watching us...”

”Maybe, she truly enjoys watching us.”

Yang Yu spread his hands, helplessly said,

”This is purely my speculation. Discussing these new suppositions with you.

Think about it, being invited to be a guest only to be inexplicably sealed into some device, and after finally being released, the other party immediately attacks, wouldn’t you be angry?

If it were me, I’d definitely be angry; everyone has a bit of temper.

That goddess might be sitting in that orb, waiting for someone to liberate her from inside it while munching on popcorn and enjoying the fight between us two.

If she really is a goddess, several million years would just be a fleeting moment to her.

Having encountered this sort of thing, naturally, she’d seize the moment to find herself some amusement.

Of course.

This is just my baseless guess.

What exactly happened can only be learned by hearing the goddess’s thoughts.”
