Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

If Bai Jin’s guess is correct, Lux intends to use sky magic to blast the entire Demon King City away.

The magic technique Lux prepared has extremely subtle magic fluctuations, almost imperceptible.

If they’re not nearby, even Bai Jin and the others would find it difficult to detect this world-destroying magic.

To fend off Yongfang Chunlan and Demon Agares’ ambush, Iyas had already used ”Goddess’s Smile” once.

If Lux’s magic truly descends from the sky, they fear there’s no way to resist it.

A solution must be found before this magic is completed.

No one wants to see a conclusion where they defeat Lux but lose the entire army.

Lux waved a finger downward, and the dense magic power around them settled again, forming a strong magic deceleration field.

A black ghost shadow flashed past Yang Yu’s back, activating the Ghost Dance. Yang Yu rapidly traversed the magic field laid by Lux, his Holy Sword raining attacks, like golden streams of light surrounding Lux.

Lux drew the Demon King’s Sword stored in the system, trying to fend off Yang Yu’s attack. However, his body, as if cursed, reacted extremely sluggishly.

The Vorquis within Lux hindered all of his actions.

Black shadows wrapped around the sword blade, gold and black interweaving, as Yang Yu struck Lux’s chest with a powerful blow.

The Holy Sword has the effect of converting damage into true damage and can deal maximum percentage true damage to the target.

No matter how powerful the Demon King, as long as the Hero holds the Holy Sword, there’s a chance of defeating the Demon King.

In close combat, Lux would be at a disadvantage, so he attempted to distance himself from Yang Yu.

But whenever Lux tried to retreat, Yang Yu used his speed advantage to close in within the blink of an eye.

The magic deceleration field became useless as Yang Yu’s sharp sword blade drew bizarre arcs in the air, the sword shining with holy light ruthlessly slicing gashes on Lux’s body.

Scarlet blood gushed from the wounds, and Lux controlled the magic in the blood to form a fierce tiger attacking Yang Yu.

Yang Yu quickly switched weapons, slicing the blood tiger in half with the Black Tachi, aiming for Lux’s neck.

”Clang——”, a clear sound rang out as the Black Tachi was stuck in the black shield created by Lux.

The magic used to construct the shield was too dense; it couldn’t be cut through.

Retreating slightly, Yang Yu withdrew the Black Tachi, replacing it with the Holy Sword once more.

Activating ”Shield Shattering”, the Holy Sword effortlessly broke the cracked Magic Shield, making another cut on Lux.

In the semi-transparent space, Vorquis knelt on both knees, his face twisted in pain.

He empathized profoundly with the injuries Lux suffered.

Vorquis gritted his teeth, refusing to let the ceaseless waves of pain wreck his will and seize his thoughts.

Lux’s voice resurfaced in Vorquis’s mind, the familiar words of ”cooperation” repeated too often, though this time, his tone was kinder and warmer.

The threat of death loomed, and Vorquis was indeed afraid of dying.

On the contrary, he was terribly afraid of dying.

But there are things in this world more terrifying than death.

If he could, through his sacrifice, recover something from a despair worse than death, Vorquis was willing.

Perhaps this is the essence of being a Hero.

In the past, Heroes may have chosen to face unprecedented enemies to prevent the Demon King from spreading war to the innocent.

The soul connected to Lux, Vorquis could see some of the Demon King’s memories.

The Demon King too bore some burden, which drove him to invade this world time and again.

Vorquis could not discern whether what he was doing was right or wrong.

But from Lux’s response earlier, he had made his own choice.

Vorquis would never entrust the world’s future to Lux.

”No matter how many times you repeat it, I won’t change my mind.

My mind is made up.

When you took over my body, you should’ve anticipated this day would come.

To drag you to hell with me would make my life worthwhile.”

Faced with Vorquis’s resolute response, Lux neither flew into a rage nor cursed Vorquis. He simply severed the connection, looking for another way.

A scorching red Magic Array opened beneath Lux’s feet; he intended to conjure searing flames to encircle Yang Yu once more.

However, Vorquis disrupted again, forcibly shutting down his magic power supply channel.

The flames, which should have soared over ten meters high, licked Yang Yu’s ankle like a sprout emerging after rain, having no impact on him.

Quickly treading the flames, sparks danced around as the golden light of the Holy Sword shone, Yang Yu mercilessly drove the sword into Lux’s chest.

Golden lights flared across Lux’s chest, clawing at his torso and rapidly burning through his Life Value on the blood bar.

The previously alert yellow Blood Bar turned red in a breath, almost dropping to the bottom.

Pulling out the blade, Yang Yu glared intensely into Lux’s eyes,

”Taunt.”

Lux’s body involuntarily lunged at Yang Yu once more.

Raising ”Broken Cocoon Butterfly,” Yang Yu perfectly blocked Lux’s strike.

The sharp Holy Sword darted out from beneath the shield, unexpectedly, piercing Lux again.

Scarlet blood spurted from Lux’s mouth.

In battles of this caliber, even the smallest flaw could be fatal.

Yet due to Vorquis, Lux was repeatedly exposed and couldn’t fend off Yang Yu’s meticulously prepared attacks.

The black rapidly consumed the red in Lux’s blood bar, leaving only a sliver of indiscernible Blood Volume.

Lux’s Blood Volume now dwindled to merely a few hundred points.

Tumbling under Yang Yu as the holy sword-bearer seemed merely a matter of time for Lux.

Never had Lux imagined his meticulously laid plan over the years would end this way.

”It’s not time to give up; the former Demon Kings never gave up, so why should I?”

Lux gritted his teeth, lifting his head to face Yang Yu.

In front, Yang Yu was full of openings; Lux wanted to cast magic in this rare opportunity, dragging the Goddess’ Apostle into hell with him. Yet, that infuriating Vorquis kept controlling his body, interfering with his actions through sheer will.

In the end, Lux merely summoned a few small Magic Arrays to release magic.

As time went on, some of Vorquis’s thoughts gradually emerged in Lux’s mind, and Lux understood that Vorquis was entirely resolved to perish together.

Lux finally realized the cause of the anomaly in his body.

Without hesitation, Yang Yu withdrew the sword, easily dodging Lux’s magic, and, expressionless, said,

”This should be the final blow.

I apologize for defeating you in this manner.

However...

This may be the only method to defeat you.

Ancient resentful spirit, please rest in peace.

”

With that, Yang Yu unhesitatingly pierced Lux’s breast.
